Popular Post Redback
Took the IFS out the gatekeeper, replaced it with the metal axles off the highrock. Results seem pretty epic. That is some steering angle. Need to tweak the panhard and geo a bit to reduce bump steer. I want to use this for SST in september so went a bit overboard 23% overdrive and some other goodies. Front winch used to pull up the front axle, like on real rock buggies (manual droop). Also have a scale winch in the back so can do the same on the rear axle. Doing this sucks the car down onto the axles, lowering CoG and giving an extra level of control. Will probably swap the motor out for an axe, not enjoying the revolver like i used to. Edited April 22, 2022 by Redback

Popular Post MrCake
Crawl and bash with the old man. Not in pic, but woodland now also has 1 x wheel nut from my EMB-MT which came off and a sheared wheel screw from a Funtek DT4 (old man's car). Annoyingly DT4 has been discontinued and parts are basically non existent in the UK .

Popular Post BigGinge
Trimmed the knightrunner shell that I’m trying to fit onto the TRX4 trail truck. Doesn’t look like it’s going to play nice with the rear fenders, so will probably have to ditch those to get it to fit. This means it won’t be quite as quick/clean as I was hoping to switch between this and the prairie wolf shell I started out with. Not entirely sure the front fenders is all that happy either but I can’t look into that properly until I sort out the rear ones and move the shell back/down into the correct position. Shergar
Are they the wide or the narrow fenders?

The narrow ones may help at the front but I'm not sure they will be super helpful at the rear as the main clash is in the area where the front and rear body shell sections are joined together (so this is interfering when running across the body rather than down the side). I've got a set of the shock towers that come without the fenders which I'm going to try today and see how that goes; if I can get the shell fitting with those then I may get a set of the narrow fender parts on order and see if I can get those in.
Popular Post BigGinge
Managed to make some good progress on getting the kightrunner shell to fit onto the TRX4 over lunch. I’ve swapped out the rear fenders for the stand alone shock mount towers I had from Traxxas kit 8057 (long wheelbase conversion kit) which has got rid of the major body shell clashes and lets me properly position it over the axles. I’ve also flipped the front bumper mount to get proper alignment of the front bumper and the new body shell. For the rear bumper I’ve had to trim quite a bit of material from the element part as it seems the TRX4 has much longer chassis rails than the element. To get it to line up properly with the shell I’m going to need to order another front bumper mount as the stock rear mount has it sitting far too low. I’ll need to print some spacers out to raise the rock sliders to line up with the new shell properly and will probably order some narrow fenders to go with the new bumper mount as the ones on the front are a little snug in places. Shame I didn’t think to check this before putting in an order at wheelspin this morning. Doh! As it stands there is nowhere near enough clearance round the wheels to allow full articulation. I’m going to wait for my smaller class 1 tyres and new wheels to turn up before I start trimming anything away from them though.
