ReggieC
Fitted a Hobbywing SCT w/4600kv combo into the Slash. Hopefully runs a bit cooler than the VXL 3s system in it before!

Liked @Jack Reacher's idea of making your own batteries so gave it a go. Works as 2s pack, balances perfect, bit high resistance but tiny leads and may have cooked the ends soldiering. Will run a transmitter, the winch controller or a crawler for 30min for 8£ oh and like Jack said these can go lower than 3.2v so longer run times.

Well done, the secret to soldering these is a really hot iron, i use a 100w job, the idea is a lot of heat but lightning quick on the terminal of battery, plenty of flux.....i need to make a 4S 3P 9000mah soon
Popular Post danny boy
A little bit of battery reclamation. Disposable vape pens actually contain good quality fully rechargeable lithium batteries. But because of the vapes disposable nature they get used once then get chucked in the bin. I do not vape, but I see these things littered everywhere when walking the dogs. I’ve started picking them up and getting the batteries out. They’re good for small LED’s and other low power accessories, so I use them for headlights on my touring cars 9
Popular Post Lone-wolf
Me and my good lady took the Carisma crawlers out to the Cow an Calf at Ilkley for a good run, i ended up doing walk of shame as the front axle locked up..........got home and decided to pull the axle, sure enough the bevel gear on drive stub had come apart, i guess factory ran out of threadlock on mine, all fixed and working again

Popular Post khevolution
Just recently got my youngest into the hobby and thought I would take him to my local on road track to get him some practise using the radio, I recently dragged my old EMB-1 out of the loft with the plan that he could use that, he was really excited about it all and I even got him to paint his own shell! Anyway we went out today and things was going great and corners he missed the little buggy was just able to absorb the curbs. However his confidence grew and he started getting a little faster, that’s when the buggy tapped out and decided it had enough and the chassis snapped! Now we both thought it was game over for the day, however his mum had a blue Peter moment and got to work trackside with a roll of sellotape. I’ve attached a picture below of the results, it managed to stay together for another battery pack before the steering gave up as well and we both had to admit that sellotape wasn’t going to fix that one 9

Kyo
Went to do the oil in the DR8 diffs, started with the centre. Opened it up to find it bone dry! Looks like the seal is broken in half, ugh. Edited September 1, 2022 by Kyo 2
Popular Post oodboo
New wheels, tyres, ESC and motor ready for racing to start again and going I can get there. I know the wires are a mess but the body hides them.
Popular Post Borked
Switched out the ****y banggood ESC with a Hobbywing thing. Sooooo much better. Way more responsive. Can pitch the car up and down in the air far more easily now. The banggood ESC got me out of a hole, but the Hobbywing is so much better. I run the 10BL120 sensored in both race cars, so I knew the 10BL60WP would be tip-top. Didn't disappoint. Finished rebuilding the B6.1 to team kit stock setup. Glad I did because it was not built properly! Only thing left now is to get the recommended pinion for the 8.5 motor. Also did a little servo/ESC wiring tidy. Can't wait to get the chance to drive this... not long now until indoor season at my club.
Popular Post .AJ.
Made a start on Ryft Junked all the stock electrics, test fitted in the electrics I had in the Summit, I’ve had to raise the centre transmission to make room for the big 4274 Holmes Hobbies motor, but looks like it will all work out great and the interior will still fit. I need to order some alloy spacers and wiring bits next 👍
Hyper7ftxoutlaw
Got it running well again! Ive been having some problems with stalling and just getting it to run properly but I did the ‘pinch the fuel line’ test and it ran for 9 seconds before dying 😂 I leaned it out slowly until it ran nicely! Temps are ‘I think ok’ because I can hold my palm on the head for a good 8-9 secs before it hurts. I also have very small and soft palms! Loving nitro again and hoping to take it to a real spot soon! Also because I’m a child I’ve made the rear brakes operate only on the rear axle so you can do handbrake turns! Stormbringer
Invest in a temp gun as its at the glowplug you measure the temp
