Thanks man, i dont want to derail the topic so ill dm you, I've done my research and whilst i understand its a hobby as i have experience in 3d im looking at the commercial possibilities a printer opens up.

Took the minis out for a run with the kiddos. It's a nice change of pace from the madness of 1/8 bashers 🙂

Been messing with a new to me element enduro. Cut wheel arch to fit the bigger wheels I had. Droped shell as low as possible. Should be fun to play with.

Been out the loop for a good while, But I'm a bit opposite and tend to get back into it when winter rolls in, I like to spend the days in the shed just messing with them.

So I've been off this week and so decided to sort the shed out and do a few bits, Started by building another desk that was higher and could hold the 50" plasma, Nothing better than pottering with the cars and doing a boxset at the same time.

 

Dropped a Losi 427 engine in the CRT, It did come with an SH 28 that is the same engine but the OWB was slipping which is why the previous owner cut out the flywheel hole so they could use a bump box, Only cost 120 quid and I don't think it ever moved from new, Also made some alloy chassis braces. 

As they had already mutilated the chassis I decided to do a much better job of doing a slot for the rotostart so I could use standard engine mounts so I could use the rotostart or bump box.

 My other CRT had a twin steering servo setup that I did, But they just pulled too much power, The ESC had a 6v  5A BEC but that wasn't enough, So I tried a separate external 6v 5A BEC that I had but still no good,So went back to single setup, But in place of the other servo I dropped in a Hyper 7 shock which helps with the play and takes some strain off the servo.

More progress has been made with the TRX4 build. The axles, shocks and suspension linkages are all now together and mounted on the chassis, along with the wheels, body mounts and steering servo. 
 

 

This has meant that I’ve been able to properly trial fit the shell and it’s mostly looking good. There is a slight issue with the position of the front body posts, that is currently causing the body to sit too far forwards. Hopefully I will be able to find some after market body post mounts that will let me shift things about so that this all fits properly.

Working on a speedrun body design, the idea is to print as a mould negative and then use it as a base for fiberglassing over.

Made a front bumper for my Hyper 7. Made from some 4mm thick black acetal. 

 

 

A bit rough, but will give some bashing protection.

Gonna make a neater version when i pick up a new jigsaw and find my detail belt sander.

More bits went onto the TRX4 build but I have had to take one fairly key bit (a bodged on offset body mount) off because of a clash with the motor. So still a fair way to go before this one is ready for the trails.

After a bit, actually a lot, of tweaking I'm finally happy with how the body is sitting. First try with magnetic mounts has been a learning curve. I'm calling this one finished now.

Just a little paint on the inside of the light buckets for the prairie wolf body. 

 

 

What do people use to tint the lexan body red/amber where it will cover the rear lights? Is there a particular translucent paint I should be using for this which comes in the tiny pot size I’d need?

Today was a intresting day, first time using a 3d printer, after a couple of strength tests settled on an infill and begun producing car parts, first up a winch mount that slots into the chassis rails.

 

Next up rear chassis stiffener and front servo plate redesign as the stock one has way to much flex.

 

And a mascot for the car.

Whilst on the subject, am looking to buy some LED lights for our trucks? What's the best way to do it? eBay kit? Thinking the ones where you just slap a 9V to them 2 red and 2 white LED lights, maybe a set of 4/bar along the top for the M/T?
