  1. So had the Scorcher running round the garden today.. Just the rear light to paint and its finished Was a bit disappointed the battery only lasted 15 mins from a full charge. Carson 2700 Hump pack. Still this won't be used much as its a shelf queen. Too expensive to damage!! On to next build

  2. A little update with some bits for a AE B6.1 fitted. - B6.1 Rear arms, V2 hubs and 65/67mm cva's to play about with bone plunge 🤯 - B6.1 Gull front tower and lower arms - B6 buggy springs to get the lower ride height - AE B6 48mm turnbuckles (6) - B6 front and rear bumpers Still needs to shake down and ride height for actually running it but awaiting two turnbuckles from Modelsport for the steering tie rods.

  4. Worked on the chassis, today. It fought me a little bit, because the gearbox mount is just floating at the moment (links screw into it). When I started to screw the suspension mounts etc tighter, however, it all pulled into line. While building it, it struck me how well thought-out this chassis is. Probably, all high-grade crawler RCs are, by this point. It's just I've never built one!

  5. My ESC came with wires soldered on, I just think you will struggle with the big 12awg wire, it was hard enough getting a neat install in the larger LC12B1 with smaller diameter wires

  9. Finally got the body finished last night. Too most of the day (around other stuff) cutting out all the decals but I'm happy with the end result. I took the chassis out for a spin yesterday without the body (could wait 🙂). It's quite bouncy with the friction shocks but I've got a set of tamiya cva shocks to build and fit today. I'll get some better photos later but these will do for now.

  10. After a bit of a break from rc the lockdown prompted me get my cc01 and lunchbox out and get them running again. This didn't occupy me for long enough and I had the itch to build something. I've got a couple of m chassis cars and it didn't take long for me to settle in the MF01x beetle. Ordered the kit with a set of bearings and a servo and as soon as it arrived I got to work. I'm going with what I thought was the box art colour scheme so ordered some black and red paint. However the manual says black and orange. Nevermind, mine will be black and red. I'll add more photos when the body is done. There's not much talk of the MF01x on here so if anyone has any questions ask away. Cheers

  11. I bought one of these little (not so little) 1/18th Temper gen 2 crawlers last week, i have been out and run it twice and thought i would post a tiny bit about it. Size is listed at 1/18th scale but its big for this scale using 1.9 Beadlock rims and the tyres being around 108mm diameter, wheelbase is around 240mm and width is around 210mm, dont take these dimensions for gospel, as its a case of trying to remember and a tiny bit of estimating, but close, also it has a lot of ground clearance of around 80mm. Tyres are very good, soft and very grippy, the only terrain that seems to cause it to lose grip is dry powdery soil, like on well worn footpaths. Motor is a 380 and has an all in one ESC/RX, the TX i have to say feels rather err, cheap but it does a great job, its very comfortable and has on/off throttle trim steering trim and steering rates plus control reverse on throttle and steering, takes 4 AA batteries. The crawler itself comes with an odd 900mah 7.4v 6cell NI-MH and has EC3 plug fitted to car and battery, spare packs are hard to come by and expensive, there is an 1100mah pack available if you can get them. I decided to run 2s lipo, and just so happened to have a pair of Turnigy 800mah 2s packs that fit in the rather small battery bay, combined with a low voltage alarm, each lipo gives a run time of near 40 mins, the largest 2s your gonna fit in is 55x34x20mm, and i found some on ebay that are branded WLtoys 2s 1100mah and will just fit, the ESC is more than happy to run lipo but with the caveat of putting a low voltage alarm in to make sure you dont run the lipo down past safe point. So out on the track, i am really happy with how this performs, it has a brisk turn of speed, kinda very fast walking pace i would guess, huge amount of articulation on the wheels/suspension combined with good tyres, seems if a crawler can do it then this little gem will do it, it will pull itself up really steep inclines and has a surprising amount of low down power, i will put my neck on the block and say this is better at crawling than my SCX10II clone. Mods.....so far i have added a small amount of plumbers solder wire to the front rims and stuck 60g of wheel weights on underside of the body at the rear, i have ordered the Aluminium diff spools for it as it uses same axles as the FTX outback 2 having plastic spools that are known to round out, also ordered a length of 4mm ID brass tube to beef up the drive shafts between wheel and diff on each axle. I dont plan on any more mods in the near future as this will have it pretty darn good. So for the price of about £138, i would say pretty good value for a nice size crawler that really can crawl well

  12. been out the loop by quite a few years for rc cars and dad and i are getting back into them. years ago my dad sold an original grasshopper to some one that put a strong 540 in it and trashed it, that poor wee hopper wasn't hopping anymore 😛 now a few day's ago dad and i just both got grasshopper rerelease kits, due to almost every thing we have been too powerful for a garden covered in stones and gravel etc and the fact were on lockdown dang that little 380 motor and bouncy pogosticks are super awesome fun and even better with 2 of them bouncing about all stock apart from fully ball raced im gonna leave mine stock i reckon. dad has his in fluorescent orange and on the wheels. any one know where to get green nuts? theres a sledge hammer s50 a savage a bandit etc but the grass hopper is just as much fun

  13. Yayyy it's here the Volkswagen Beetle Rally 4WD MF-01X Chassis Kit Number 58650. I Love Volkswagen Beetles as you can see from previous posts .. Sand Scorcher Build, Monster Beetle Build .. so a 4WD Rally Herbie was next. Bit of a Shock this morning , my Partner is one in a million, already had bought me the Monster Beetle for my Birthday. So to find a box on the settee and its for me kinda threw me a bit! Seeing i was looking into one soon as i could afford it , went and bought it... I didn't have the funds as off work at the moment so watching spends. Was even thinking of painting our Cockatiel white and selling him on eBay as a dove .. 🤣 to fund one. His safe wouldn't do that to him love him too much. So what is the plan 🤔 Well I'm a big Herbie fan so I've Sourced the Herbie Decal sheet and just got to find the correct colour.. We have a set of ball races in a bag a set i purchased for a DT03T chassis i was going to buy but never came off. Will match as many as we can, looks standard sizes so should be good! It comes with a Torque Tuned RS540 motor that's staying, I've found these to be a great motor for blasting round the garden. Well my speed i can control 🤣 Esc is a Mtroniks Sniper RV-20 The Modelsport UK one Radio is a Carson Reflex Wheel 2.4Ghz

  14. Greetings folks, I've just taken up the hobby. It started after my partner's son was given a New Bright jeep... Despite it running at snail pace he absolutely loved it. I then picked up a job lot of BSD Racing cars for us both: Flux Assault V2 and Flux onslaught. They required a little work to get them both running but I was quite glad of the fact as it's made for a very fun and educational activity for him. Last night I pulled the trigger on an Arrma Typhon (6s)... Interestingly I'd had a bit too much whiskey and I have zero recollection of buying it. I only realised after checking my ebay account this morning... Although I can't imagine I'm the first person on the forum to have done this? 😊 Anyhow, I'm glad to be here after lurking in the sales area for a couple of months and it's nice to say Hello. Have a good weekend everyone.

  15. Looks like a gun in the back of the bed in that picture [emoji1787] Few odd jobs for me. Decided I was going to use the XT30... XT60 way too big for the the BL30 and little Lipos. Oil filled some shocks. Put 80k CST in the centre diff for the Mojave buggy project.

  16. I think the chassis came out about 2 years ago. It’s an M class car like the front wheel drive M05 and the rear wheel drive M06. The wheelbase can be changed between three options, shortest being 210mm and this body is the longest 239mm. I don’t know what people are doing with them but I’m having a lot of fun with mine

  17. Do you know which body you'll be going for? I'm not sure if mine will need a wheely bar yet. I'm running the kit 3-gear laydown transmission so most of the weight is forward of the rear axle. I know on the rear motor trucks it's deffo needed. The jconcepts hotties are good! They do some nice bodies too.

  18. My personal method is Shoe Goo the magnets to the top of the body posts, once you have ride height decided. Then wrap in some heat shrink to keep them in place and make sure they never come off. Put another magnet on top of these and put Shoe Goo on the top magnet, place the body on, align in correctly, then leave the Shoe Goo to dry overnight and voila, job done This video might help, it's on a different model, but same principle involved.

  30. Is it only me then that's been underwhelmed with the little tenshocks? I must say I very much preferred the stock red can (leopard?) for racing. So much so that as stocks dried up I bought a few for spares.

  32. Hi You need a FAC (fire arms certificate) as the barrel is rifled. Somewhere to shoot and good reason is a must, for a club you have to be a member for at least 3-6 months so the members can vet you if all ok then you can nominate that club for your licence. Lots of private lands helps but then you need a good reason. Apply for FAC with your local police they do background checks & check with your GP re health issues. 22lr subsonic for hunting short range acutely better than .22 it’s all about the grain in the bullet. Air rifles .177 have more accuracy than .22 but .22 had more impact 10-30 yards. 12ft pounds is the legal limit for AR well 11.8ft pounds depending on the weight of the pellet. Don’t go over 12ft if the police do a chrono they will use varying pellet weights to try and get over 12ft pounds [emoji16] Air rifle go in shop choose buy one depending on what you want to do target or ratting. Walk out happy bunny .22lr be prepared for Questions Question Question, visits from the police FAO covering everything. Loads on line. After a very in-depth process & a few quid be prepared for the big KB. A quick pic of me & my Savage 110 BA using .338 lupra magnum man size target 1km away. Dug out in the hillside. Yes I can hit it. It’s a good bashing spot as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  33. I have the 66 F-100 with a honcho cage on my 10.2. It came unpainted with the rig when I bought it off the Bay. It looks pretty good with the rear cage but I’m still undecided on which colours to paint the shell. IMO though, the F-250 SD looks better with the honcho rear and suits a one colour paint scheme better than the F-100 does.

  36. Small update for today. So having looked at some blue prints for the 76 F150 the fuel tank sits at the back of the chassis between body and axle. Interestingly on the Carisma F150 there is dead space between the body and chassis rails. One Fuel cell receiver box, some hardware and there is now a faux fuel tank on the truck. Add on some aluminium effect vinyl tape to look like straps and it looks even more realistic when you take the classic up the skirt shot! And finally as promised earlier here is the smallest decals I have ever made!

  39. Had my fun with this and now time to move it on Only ever run indoors so in fantastic condition, with zero marks to the chassis or arms It’s been converted to brushless with a Hobbywing Quicrun 16BL30 ESC and 2435 4500kv motor, also has a Savox servo with alloy horn, Mini 8ight 48dp gearing with a AE 16t pinion, revision a arms, bearings in steering rack, Losi alloy shocks, xt30 connectors Included in the sale are the original lipo and usb charger, original shocks and servo with servo saver, the servo saver is junk and very sloppy, spare spur gear, I had to modify the motor plate to get a proper gear mesh. The rear bumper also broke, so I removed it Doesn’t include any radio gear...... I’m after £150 posted (PF48) and I’ll cover the fees yo....

  44. Some more done on the TT-02 this evening. Noticed their was only a teeny bit of axle thread poking out of the wheel, wasn't happy with it, so looked in my spares and found some narrower hexes, the tyres now don't scrap the arches either. Liking the Tamiya CVA shocks too, nice and smooth, could do with softer springs though, currently using the stock ones from the box, anyone recommend anything a bit softer? The Fastrax CVDs seem nice too.
