so still wanting a TRX4 Ranger XLT, may have to sell of all but one of my other cars to fund it might not be such a bad idea though as not using all the cars, even new flux 80HD has only been run on street just once

Imo the bronco shells quite tough but as you say costly, yet to crack the shell on mine but its started to fail in places mostly on the plastic inserts where the screws mount,Get an expensive model, pay the expensive repair price... You could sell all your models if your only going to trail drive. But i dont think you will enjoy it as much as you expect, ive never fallen in love with mine, i like the difflocking but its barely used (unlocked) unless im sending it. So full of frills but no thrills.

When i joined this forum flying rc was my main hobby, but due to no longer being able to fly at local club i think my flying days are coming to an end, this makes me feel like archiving my FB flying group, and selling up the planes

@Bert_w164 its because the cell tower has started knocking out my 2.4g radio, its not safe and irresponsible to fly knowing your getting signal fails, plane could crash or flyaway, i have 3 choices, call it a day, spend a lot of money and go open tx radio to drop to 933mhz or try to find another place to fly
-
Dusted of the FPV gear, been charging Runcam 2HD cameras, charging lipo`s ..........Yay flying on sunday, taking the Dragon, Albabird and micro skyhunter maybe the Rambler as well

I used this fake "Castle" 2650KV motor on 6S in my Typhon for 2 years and it surpassed 100mph easily with an MM2 ESC. Only reason I changed it is that I've now put a TP Power motor in the Typhon.
For the money it's a bargain I think: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Castle-Creations-Neu-Castle-1512-1Y-1-8-Brushless-Motor-2650kV-HOT-BIG-SALE/261762482459?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item3cf242811b:g:q3wAAOSwfVpYnd9c&amdata=enc%3AAQAFAAACcBaobrjLl8XobRIiIML1V4Imu%2Fn%2BzU5L90Z278x5ickkXKoKcbeZcOrOku%2BoOBl%2BS8psAIQX2zuiSKRpvvRem7kttnQs4S4xqhv%2FSzEp4fjkQ92Z75cQFuezfgK%2BwcKsMq7QbnLD8V910rxHoAgwZfRdvM3C1OH7qhsRQBiP1cI%2B49RLHbAbfdUEkvZd8M7nxoqeiIGXLagNdyTsnKWc%2FreKI6qlgrMzYqjU1mhlOw2S1b0C3bZaswbUbaznuqZk73mwuL4bzZ1wEE%2BDHbUr1U5tpFhYASNHyr4LXjJ0HQOGpvojEvY6fc9JN9Ktg1ZYal2FvZRx6dcig1i2%2FB0F2WDks3l9hmJBprkXXOymJftwSTDi9%2FNH%2BkzLTiQwBEcxJGezxUDl7A2sS3OXwfsvxJwGDYO6CeVwuSuu9mEbdRoTr2OPY6XrgHeJjhpwKN0wCx6LbKYFvlaUk7mtF3DRlOXIGi%2BaZXdA46%2B0Rr0K3vTAR8amvxekSjjy1jeuKBfvXqaJUyJo88Zwgpv3A0YSAzu%2FPTNBM7L85EtQQFPnWSc7BdbfODFxWcZ%2Ffja%2Biyc5D%2FXRNjhkXIg3fVw9i8DEX8iSzKE36NAgOZg1HMe1pduAiKMKPsi48TQHYITtUWqQfHcQvsZHCu8vPZxKdrS75DkSlJgxf815%2BMxU7qE%2B%2FZOpNFR%2BImuHY3TkupXgxu3oXcTnh%2BMZkyQsdqx31BVcN8M1MAU2FgRWGaGJbjuSG3vTWUpF%2BChyeg4V5hnyzink0RspxGxpH%2FPDGpYdpZ%2FsMki15d4oABxoDIipjYvGoADRUtl7MSBv6JeM67R99vimaQ%3D%3D|cksum%3A261762482459178221cec9084666a97dab98355efe62|ampid%3APL_CLK|clp%3A2334524 -
That's cool Jack. If you want any help with stuff just let me know.
Ideally you're going to want a spool for the centre, heavier diff fluids all round and some decent road tyres (sure you know all that 😉 ). GRP 1/8th tyres are what you want in that regard, available from Trackside Spares online.
Good luck with it.

What colour would you guys use with metallic green for a 2 colour shell?
- Show previous comments 14 more

Bright colours @Jack Reacherfor definite and two tone imho is always good as it can help you tell which way your car is facing at a distance.
My Limitless with green & bright silver. Much brighter in person and daylight.

"Buy a hobbywing for speed runner", "oh look it wont fit, no probs cut the wires down cut some chassis away" its in, and faulty, send it back oh wait i cut the wires down, cant send it back, so its in the bin now, project has come to an end, not happy

brushless for speed question, is sensored better than non sensored
- Show previous comments 3 more
-
@Tug This is true however you can only get boost / timing features with full sensored, whilst less efficent you get more power im to belive. Least with the xerun esc's? Is this not true?
-
Amps question: so brushless car, is it right that on 2s lipo it will draw more amps than on 3s lipo in a given same setup?
- Show previous comments 1 more

From what I remember 40 years ago in physics at school. But correct me, if I am wrong. A motor doesn't draw any amps. Its consumption is measured in watts. Then together with its voltage supply the amps are calculated. Watts = VA. --> Watts = Volts x Amps. Then I would say a motor takes what it can get up to its max wattage limit, limited only by the ESC. (Cracking my brain now)... Sorry, I give up. It's too long ago...
-
quick ESC question....surpass 60amp rated 2-3S, will it smoke if i put 4s through it on 1/10 touring speed car with 3300kv 3660 motor?
