Widemaxx kit for. X Maxx now!

Cant see the stress been any worse than running the Badlands, which seems to be fine. Wonder if the arms are made out of the ‘HD’ style material arms?
Ill wait till a UK price comes out but for now, my new method of buying RCs is buying used, and £200ish got me my last RC haha.
Ive had 5 X Maxxes, this one is my most stock, with just RPM rear carriers and a Max 6, its the best one Ive had…..
That said, its my birthday in 3 weeks….
-
RPM carriers and Max6 is peak X-Maxx. Everything else makes it worse, maybe a (decent) unbreakable shell.
In terms of stress, it actually would be worse. The strain on longer arms would be higher than what would be added by a moderate amount of weight increase on a shorter arm (exponentially so). The "lever action" now also comes from the other (heavier) side compared to Badlands (the chassis), hence stiffer springs as well. Just waiting for facebook to explode after everyone who runs Badlands sticks them on the wideXmaxx, and breaks them by driving down the sidewalk kerb.
My biggest issue is the price though. Assuming we'll be looking at around £169 (if not £199 straight), i'm not willing to spend that much anymore on a few plastic pieces and two springs, especially considering how well rounded a RPM/Max6 X-Maxx realistically is. If i wanted to spend money to make it worse, i'd get alloy arms.

Come on Max!!! 🧡🧡🧡

Itll go to the courts.
I feel bad for Hamilton, Im not his biggest fan but he and his Dad epitomised class today. Horner/Wolff/Helmut and especially Masi are a disgrace.
I dunno how to feel about it. On one hand. Its a Championship, so nothing is really “Decided” last day, its over a year. Both Lewis and Max have gained and lost because of FIA decisions over the season. One could argue that Lewis probably got away with the incident on Lap 1 for example. That said, Max werent touching him today. Perez raced him the hardest and Mercedes own strategists posed more of a threat to Hamilton than Max.
However, as corny as this is to say, and doesnt really make sense, I think Lewis deserved the Race Max the Championship

Im really getting into Youtube (watching not making videos) and probably watch Youtube more than TV now. I currently follow Kev Talbot, @Tomley RC and Raz. Kev’s content is what Im into (bashing), and I like his content. I’m a huge fan of Tomleys style and production, but he is more focussed on elements of the hobby Im not into unfortunately (the budget stuff and crawling) and I genuinely learn stuff from Raf’s videos. Anyone Im
missing out on?

I watch very little TV....has to be something interesting/educational. YouTube every day but yeah the adds are getting ridiculous 🙄. Personally I don't like kev...toooo load for my sensitive ears !!! Matteo makes some wonderful videos though, wish he would do one to show us how he does it 🙂. JohnnyQ90 amazes me with his work too, as does Olive rc.

Adblock? I've not seen an ad on youtube in 10 years.

Imho, best ad blocker. Creates a small problem with twitch, but there's workarounds for that too if necessary. But that's the only problem with it.

As @Kpowell911 said been happening for a long time just like everything tbh apart from wages of course. ☹️
The Losi SBR 2.0 was around £100-£240 odd cheaper depending where you shop back in August this year so quite an increase there as well.

Random thought of the day. How many “S” Lipo is a 1:1 Tesla Model S for example? 🤔🚗
-
It's usually thousands of cells depending on the manufacturer, cell size and car type.
How many cells are in a Tesla Model 3 battery?
The battery uses 2170-size lithium-ion cells. The 350-volt (nominal, 400v max) Model 3 battery packs are made of four longitudinal modules each containing the groups (bricks). The Standard Range version carries 2,976 cells arranged in 96 groups of 31.

Every few days I type “Traxxas” into Facebook Marketplace…. it always costs me money….. Ive just bought Maxx number 2…..
-
Ok, that SCX6 Towing video is very impressive. There. I said something positive about a scaler/crawler. Now I feel dirty
-
Its going to be a pointless exercise but I need to get it out of my system……
I think I need to sell a few RCs (I have some Ive never used…..) and build an MT410, which wont get used over my Maxx which is the same but ya know……. It needs do happen

Im fully expecting to be schooled here, this is a genuine question however. Rising energy prices. I get the initial reasons, and its dominating the news. But didnt Putin/Russia say the other day they can supply it and prices then dropped 40%? Whats the issue still? Is it a reluctance to deal with Russia?
-
Just down to greed & company shareholders want to make money. And at least one company owns what they sell they say we get the best deal but they are buying it from themselves. Also covid is a good excuse. Or just believe the news Russia could just turn supply off.
another news site said 9 uk fuel suppliers have closed because couldn't keep to price promise. So it that another way for the big company's to make even more money.
-
Don't think it has anything to do with not wanting to deal with Russia - Gov' quite happy to bad mouth Russia in mainstream media (rightly so in most cases) but still buys their gas amongst other things, ditto those 'nasty' Saudi's - but happy to supply arms to them, have Prince Charles sucking up to them and let them buy Newcastle UFC. No, main stumbling block is the ruskies want Europe to sign long term supply deals, which doesn't sit particularly well with 'our' carbon neutral energy goals. Europe, inc. UK, want to agree short(er) term spot prices, with no extended tie-ins, so Russia, who holds all the trump cards, is effectively shafting us for the privilege of getting short term pricing structures.
And prob better not even mention successive Gov's total lack of action / forethought in trying to make UK more self sufficient in energy supply terms, i.e nuclear, so we don't constantly get held by the short & curlies by regimes such as Putins.
And, there we are. Have a great w/e everybody!
-
The UK is still refusing to bite the bullet and admit that if we ALL ditched our gas boilers and our diesel and petrol cars and switched to electricity....that they have ABSOLUTELY no chance of generating the power we would need to service that. The planned stuff, the wind farms etc. can all contribute, but they will not allow us to ditch fossil fuel power NOW let alone when people are cooking with electricty and plugging in their cars every night.
It takes 10 years to get a nuclear plant from planning to generating power last time we did it.....so someone had better start thinking about how thats going to work.
Or...more likely....we will 'buy' electricity from polluting countries burning fossil fuels for us, while we smugly complain about how we are doing are bit and asking why Johnny-Foreigner doesn;t clean up his act. Much as we have done with manufacturing...getting rid of all those dirty polluting processes...and having the Chinese do it for us...while complaining how they are screwing up the world. But the retail world had heart failure when the flow of container ships from China got stalled for a week.
Doesn't matter who is in power...they are all just as bad. And all just as clueless how things are actually going to work in the glorious clean future they promise us. How goods will get to shops, how we will h eat our homes and travel.

Main ones I can think of at the moment are Losi 5ive, a couple of MCD models, and the different varieties of KM stuff. I think you can still get some FG cars and there's a few other more race oriented ones that are available from less main stream places but they won't be cheap.
Don't know if you've had a look on here but they do 30DN clone of the 5ive. https://www.rcmodelz.co.uk/

For me, my Maxx is now the best RC out there. I appreciate it costs close to £800 to get one “sorted” but honestly I find mine incredible. It takes a ridiculous amount of abuse, its fast, its smooth, its got the weight to be good off road. Its honestly incredible

@BashingBrian Agreed. Lot of money, I got it second hand, so saved a bunch. Its also in a different category of strong compared to my Kraton EXB (which cost around the same money) it replaced in my experience so win/win for me personally.
@mydoddy69 I can agree with that too, but there comes a point where things are too big/heavy/take too much juice to run in some areas. The Maxx has filled that void for me

Must admit, Im VERY impressed with Jenny’s RC! They’ve sent me the wrong item, theyve sent me a Revo ESC, not a Summit ESC. Theyre identical, except the Summit one has an additional BEC plug for the lights. Ive emailed them, and within the hour theyve got the correct esc shipped out, with priority tracking. No mention of a return of the Revo etc. Fair Play to them!!1
-
Bought a new RC, one Ive wanted for over 10 years but never owned. Nothing major, but Im quite excited….. Now imagine my disappointment when I see its being shipped by Hermes and the tracking has been cold since Tuesday…… it was due today…… 😕

Dunno if any of you are into Classic Cars, but I was lucky enough to see Nick Mason’s Ferrari 250 GTO at the weekend. This is the Holy Grail of Cars I guess? Gotta be worth over £50m…. To see it pull up and park as normal (by his Daughter) was pretty surreal

@turok007 I heard Nick bought the 250 GTO with the profits/royalties from Dark Side of the Moon, and everyone called him mad at the time haha

DHL are by FAR the worst delivery company operating in the UK. Horrendous at everything!!

Ironically..having worked in the industry for too long....the large bulky items are the easiest ones to lose.
Most of hte traffic handled ( and it is HUGE numbers) can be moved on conveyors, and a lot of the process automated, with boom scanners to track stuff as it goes. When you get something...like a 7' long pole, for example...you can't. So it has to be handled manually....which usually means some poor soul having to dump[ it in a large rollcage, which will get pushed about for sorting...along with other similarly 'awkward' packages. One missed scan or a barcode in a place the operator can;t easily reach...and what you think of as a large item vanishes in a very much larger warehouse.
I once had to explain to certain head office personnel how we couldn;t locate a box in the depot. A depot that handled 15-20 thousand items a day. They could not get it...so I invited the whole team down... They walked out onto the depot floor....looked...and just said 'oh!' ..... yup. Find that box in a room containing 10,000 boxes. It's not like finding a needle in a haystack...its like finding a particular piece of hay in a field of haystacks. And all carriers have their issues. Cheaper carriers rely more heavily on automation....and are more liable to issues. There is also an increasing trend to remove people and customer service from the process, as these are expensive. It's why things get so bad when something little goes wrong. There is just nobody to fix it, and if you ever actually speak to someone...they are usually hundreds of miles from where the box is. Even the supposedly 'good' companies are only as good as the people who actually handle your item.

Sooo theres a council type estate by me, but its still quite a rich area. This just appeared in the local whatsapp group. Plate checks out as a genuine Ferrari F40
albeit with no MOT……

@Ag100 A customer of mine brought one for £1.1m in 2019. He uses it as well was covered in bugs last time I saw it
-
@Kpowell911 No, that doesn't ring a bell. It's a guy of Indian, or Pakistani, descent. I can't remember.
-
@Kpowell911good it’s getting used, I always think it’s a shame that these sort of things just get put away, I also remember a guy properly throwing his Porsche Carrera GT around the Nurburgring, and I was overtaken by an XJ220, such iconic cars.

So a jobs came up for tomorrow, 3 days in Scotland. Money is decent, hotel and fuel is paid. Brilliant. However, I may have forgot England are playing on Weds…… chances of a pub in SCOTLAND playing that on TV are slim…. chances of a lone Englishman safely watching it?? Hmmmm 😂

@Gwalker124 can you get much further North than Elgin??

So I went against everything I believe in RC. I brought a cheap Amazon JX Servo that all the Facebook groups recommended…… NEVER AGAIN! Its woeful! You get what you pay for with servos IMO

I have one of those red DS25 things, no way does it do the quoted figures, slow and kinda weak but it's functional and a great interim servo if you get one for free (came with another RC car) or cheap.
I wouldn't buy one at retail price, I'd rather take the risk with something used.
My Hitec 985 from 10 years ago outdone the DS25 with ease in both speed and power.
