As a 'YouTuber' that does these Raffalls (in fact, I think I was the first), I felt I should give you some context to why I do them.
I started them so I don't have to do 'sponsored' videos for mobile games, ball shavers, smart wallets... and all the other 'QVC' adverts people do.
I've been doing 1 ish a month, and nearly all of them have been RC Cars I've built...put time in to, or have some value to me/the channel. I also give 10% to charity.
Kev doesn't need to do them, I mean that's pretty clear... but it's up to him what he does and not us. My motives are different to his.
I 'm not in a position yet to be able to sustain a full time channel without other sources of income. I don't do patreon, or memberships..and I've stopped the 'buy me a coffee' as I don't believe any of them offer value to the person spending their money. I can't believe some creators even have a direct PayPal link in their description!
I spend £17k last year (Apr 22-23) on RC Cars and Equipment, and then around £20k on 'admin' costs... ie a workshop, fuel, power, internet.... tax etc...
So £37k+ before I'd even taken a wage. Yeah, I could spend less.... but then I'd not be able to do as much as I do, and keep the momentum going.
Nobody is forced to take part, and I try to add more than just monetary value to my competitions.
Anyway, I really don't need to be explaining myself lol...
