Just saw, i do like that they gear it better than the X-Maxx out of the box. 20/50, quite often suggested to new owners of X-Maxxs as a good starting point. 23/46 optional gearing might be a bit steep for bashing though.

edit: pasted from the other thread, no idea why it's doing that.

I only suggest gearing up with an upgraded ESC, If I ever get over covid and get back to work I can see me Paypal Pay In Three’ing one

I remember pretty vividly that everyone (X-Maxx relatedin this forum suggested to me to immediately go to 20/50 even on the stock Velineon. And it, imho, is the correct suggestion to make - the VXL will blow up eventually anyway, nothing to do with the gearing. The XRT is similar to the X-Maxx in weight, and is 20/50 stock - so even Traxxas thinks it's the right gearing.

That said: the VXL won't stay in my XRT for long, i'll throw my MMX8s in immediately. Maybe even get some money back if someone fancies a VXL-8s.

My only concern now, is that the X-Maxx gets a facelift soon. Because if i had to choose between the X-Maxx and this, i'd still take the X-Maxx.

Already on the Modelsport website but waiting on price. Personally I reckon it will hit with a slightly higher price than the x Maxx just because it’s new either way I don’t care I’ll be popping in my preorder. Only thing that is bothering is the wait to get 😂

Thats my thought too, although a facelift X Maxx would only be a factory WideKit and maybe some body/wheel/tyre changes Id guess.

I use my X Maxx like Id use a Truggy anyway. I dont bash or jump it hard, I drive it sensibly as in my opinion, its size and presence make using it a joy and a special occassion, so you dont need to go OTT with it

£1149  is my random guess. Wonder if it will be Traxxas First Delivery Program?

Wonder if it has/had a heat issue     as the shell has air intake holes  also motor shroud and fans.  If traxxas has them fitted as standard, that means they are needed.

MSM said his ran hot (but he lives in Texas?). He said he thinks without the fans it would thermal.

I love the idea of having a composite chassis, for anything RC. Weight/flexibility/cost to replace and so on, but I do wonder if it will hold up to bashing as well as the X-Maxx does, given its dimensions alongside the lower stance. Having said that, the tub is unlikely to be costly (or difficult) to swap out so perhaps it doesn’t matter!

Either way, I’m waiting for Mr Talbot to give it the treatment!

It’s a beautiful thing just like the x-maxx but I don’t use that kind of truck anymore, a slash is overboard for my uses.

if I were in the bashing and 8s market it would be a very tough choice on this or the x-maxx, before we even get to colour schemes, lol.

Be honest I gave up on the YouTube crowd they’re pretty much all the same full of 💩  they’re only out to make money.  Not only that what one guy breaks means nothing especially when you’re just out to break it for clicks anyway seems a bit pointless. Used to like Mr Talbot but fame got to his head a bit to much

I had this exact same thought this week, most RC youtubers are a bore, no one seems passionate anymore and start them up like any other business now. Far too many reviewing Banggood/Chinese garbage, then rest are just click bait.

Kevs gone off the boil a bit, Ive got no interest in his Monster Truck really, and he does seem to be getting political lately. I respect him 100% as he has came from what appears nothing to his dream life, which is amazing, but he was saying in his last live stream something along the lines of “you cant decide who is in charge of the country, and cant let them destroy your dreams”. Fine for not getting political, but you can a) vote to change who is in charge and ironically b) the government in charge have quite literally put a spanner in the works of his new dream because he is now “struggling” to find a new property, with market uncertainty and increased interest rates…… I hope Im wrong but he wants to move onto other projects (like 1:1 projects) thats fine I just hope its on a new channel.

Tomley RC is a very weird one. I adore his presentation and style, I watch every one of his videos regardless. Yet I cant stand 95% of the cheap Chinese products he reviews. Im clearly not his target audience, being a dirty Traxxas fan boy, but its Crazy how I still watch though.

Raz Shifrin and Mark Saint Maria are amazing though. Those 2 I get the impression that they would do their channels if it cost them money. Let alone making money.

Anyway. Do we have a UK price on the XRT yet?

History is written by the victor. Or, to put differently: going from nothing to "something" by selling snake oil isn't amazing. Not to mention, he can't have "any other" backstory, otherwise his "get rich quick tutorials" fall apart. That's the main reason i'd never trust what he has to say: his " buy THIS to make as much money as me on ebay!" would simply not work if he had any other backstory.

Doesn't mean that what he says isn't true, but giving someone respect based on that.. nah. Not without knowing factually whether or not it's actually true. That's influencer 1-1. As in, quite literally.

Tomley, yeah.. torn on that one. I agree 100%. The videos are reasonably fun to watch, but skews way to hard to shilling for chinese stuff, or trying to "whitewash" problematic stuff like the price of that new Manynumbers Infraction clone. I don't even think he's malicious in that, i think he does believe what he says - it's just that i have a vastly different opinion, hence no point in watching them (for me).

Price sadly is still TBA, would like to know too. I think somewhere between £1150 and £1200 is realistic. If it were more expensive than that, i might have to reconsider - would love an XRT, but not at any price.
