That a damned fine looking bike mate!! what/where did you get those tyres from?? I see a few of the upgrades you have, other than the head stock, have you found any other weak spots?? sorry again for all the questions.
-
Looks like a decent little truck as regards spec list but overall it looks very toyish with those daft oversized wheels and sacrifices the “scale” appearance. not one little bit surprised its turned into another slag off Traxxas thread, its getting really boring now. Heard it for years….. i do love the way mini/micro crawling has come on, however, much like the 1/10 scale, i have one of the best there is already in the stable so no real need for another lesser truck. That said, my daughter won one of the early Hpi Ventures, apart from the “rubbery” links and crap tyres, it was a great little truck!! The biggest downside were the parts availability, it was no existent!! i too have good stuff to say about Hpi, had a Savage flux hp & 4.6 nitro, Firestorms, Baja 5b and enjoyed owning all them (apart from the nitro, its just not for me). is the brushless system a rebadged affair?? If so could be tempted to try one of them if they become available. @Kpowell911, again would have bought your Trx4m in a shot at that price. @Lone-wolf, if you do decide to get rid of yours, i could give it a more loving home. At least then you can be Traxxas free again…….

Weekly bump.

That second pic with the jeep in looks very good, the last one looks like a clip from a 70’s disaster film
-
It definitely looks at home on the rocks!!
-
Any updates on this yet mate??
-
100% with you on the upgrades, it becomes a obsession when i bet half of it isnt needed…
-
That is indeed a slash 4x4 diff case rebuild in the last pic, that should be good for 3s…..coupled with the Slash 4x4 ring gears and i would have thought that would clear up the fragile bits. thing is, this kind of scenario isnt new, Traxxas have operated like this for years, makes their “upgrade” sales healthier. One could argue this keeps the model price competitive but Traxxas aren’t cheap to begin with at any scale! But and this is the rub, at least parts availability will be very good for the foreseeable…… other companies are the same, been looking at Losi stuff, its no cheaper than Traxxas overall, the Pro-moto with a few choice bits would easily be into 4 figures… rock on to the little Maverick Doha for £50, that will suffice for winter

Original ad cleaned up. just the tools and scale bits left now. £30 the lot all in?? cheers
-
You know me well!! if i can muster up the free money, then its a definite purchase.
-
Wow, at £50 they have to be worth a punt. they will make great stocking fillers if there out in time…

Bump. i will accept £50 now. this will be the last bump too. -
Stick some aftermarket or Traxxas hardened steel gears and off you go, couple that to a Hobbywing max10 and 3200kv motor should be an absolute blast!!

Wow, it’s gone a bit quiet in here……lol. so the tiniest of updates but make a big impact. have to shout out at @stupar for these Toyota decals, thank you so very much, its appreciated. Nothing much else done yet, still wanting a brushless system for my Fj40 along with some hardened steel driveshafts (inside the axle ones). also on a side note, as ive mentioned in earlier posts, i thought i had hit the big time with these Chinese servos, i have 3 in total now and rate them very highly, however the last 2 ive tried to buy (on separate occasions) 1 was “returned to sender” and one apparently “lost” the last 4 purchases were perfect from this eBay seller to which im not sure whether or not post up??? the only difference is these last two were bought when the seller sends you a offer with a percentage knocked off. Seems a little suspicious to me. so it looks like it will have to be the Injora branded servo whenever possible, id hoped my sales stuff would have gone by now, if it did i could complete all bits left to do on the Fj40 and my Chevy K10. hopefully a bit more to update soon.

My lad has one on pre-order at Modelsport but we’ve had the message that he missed out on the first batch and will be re-stocked early 2025. Bit of a bummer as it was supposed to be a Christmas present from us. sorry to hear about the sale of the Trx4m @Kpowell911, i would have had that in a snap!! looking forward to seeing the pics nothing rc for me for what seems like an age now….

ARRMA 1/10 Vorteks 223S BLX Brushless 4WD RTR Stadium Truck
Gaz! replied to TheNewsGuy's topic in RC News
It doesnt look too bad, quite similar in many ways to the Corally offering also been released. honestly though, i think id be happier with the Corally truck but would happily have either for free lol, still got my oldie but goldie stampede 4x4 so do i really need another “similar” truck??? -
I have a walls worth of space in our bedroom as there isnt anywhere else for it to go, shed is solid with junk (on my better weather list) the overspill and empty box storage is in the loft. I would absolutely love a dedicated hobby room where i can close a door on it all when needed. @TommyC, wow that Losi is some way up there!! Are you a part time power lifter too?? Seriously though thats some weight to be lifting up or down there mate. great storage idea though, looks proper
-
Hi, SOLD ELSEWHERE. thanks for looking, Gaz.

Couple more points i would like to add, the whole 5th scale petrol scene has quietened down due to those nervous types that complain, so not having suitable bash spots anymore and the fact they are a (Losi 5ive) best part of a 25kg missile!! lol. the hobby has waves of differing areas, remember the short course craze?? That was a massive shift! Then drones, now it looks like the crawler part of the hobby is flourishing as this was very quiet and niche for some years. I’m absolutely sure the large scale interest will come back, although i believe it will be electric and not i/c which is a shame as i really liked the howl of the engine and smell from the exhaust. last thing i would add regards making stuff, i used to make a kit to turn a Scx10 to suit the popular Defender 90 body, made loads of them and sold like hot cakes but, price of raw materials sky rocketed, as with the electricity hikes made it look really expensive when compared to the equivalent Chinese offering at a ridiculously low price with a overall better finish. i do still tinker but more with plasticard now, that said i have made my own version of rear bumper for the Traxxas Trx4m Defender… after being here for some years, yes the likes of face ache have lured away lots of people, this forum has a wealth of knowledge, changes with the times and will always have loyal supporters. Quality over quantity with members, id rather have 1 decent guys instead of having 10 dicks. sorry for the ramble.
