  1. I’m long out of the 1/10 scale stuff now. cant comment on the Injora 1.9” tyres but the 1.0” micro tyres are good if you can get them seated properly. i know you dont want to spend that kind of money but….the Pit bull 1.9” Rock Beast xl tyres ive had for a fair time on the trx4 and they have always been nothing short of epic!! wet or dry conditions, they just bite in and carry on…..
  2. @steephill, im always on the lookout for spares, upgrades etc. mate too. would it be best to pm you??
  3. I had a Mi3.5 and that was amazing but boy have they come on.
  4. Hi, decided to sell my “back up” charger as to be honest, ive never had the need to use it. i am scaling down the amount of rc and stuff i have, i cant see me using loads of it so someone else might as well have some use from it.. its in perfect working order apart from the damage to the windows of 2 of the displays as pictured, doesnt affect the operation and also doesnt affect the view on the screen. this is how i bought it with no other charge cables although i might be able to throw in some 4mm bullets and cable to make up some charge leads if the asking price is met. It is quite large and heavy so will cost approx £10 for a signed for delivery. looking for £40 posted and inc. PayPal fees. Thanks for looking, Gaz.
  5. Yep, im going for the brown one too….. eventually.
  6. We can get a hour or so out of the stock lipo, but thats including pauses etc. not sure if you can buy a “adapter” of sorts to match the Traxxas connectors (something the pees me off about Traxxas….) other lipos fit, we have some 1000mah lipos but we have replaced the esc/receiver to run our own set up. Injora do a lead from their esc to a Traxxas lipo so maybe they will do the leads??
  7. I actually really like the look of this, wheels look tucked enough so as not to look like a monster truck, bit of something different body wise too which can only be a good thing. it wont be gracing my shelves though for numerous reasons.
  8. Perfect, thank you for that mate, definitely another one to look at for me now then, always good to have a couple of solid choices. I’ve also found the throttle curve on the Hobbywing esc’s a bit “lumpy” too at low down speeds.
  9. These are great little trucks! I wouldn’t say no to one of these…..
  10. New look for the Trx4m Chevy…. Outdoor pics when the weather allows….
  11. Hi, thought i would do my own little thread for my Traxxas Trx4m Chevy that i had for my last birthday. its been rebuilt ground up using various parts from various brands such as, Yeah Racing, Injora, Meus, Traxxas, Hobbywing and Spektrum. i have it to almost where i want it apart from the wheels, i will eventually get some with the injora brass adapter rings so i can keep the stock tyres so body wise, i quite like the chrome against the red but there was too much of it, so made some cuts to the front grill, i think it looks better so far and removed the roll bar although it wouldn’t take 5 mins to put it back. added a few choice stickers but there was still something missing, something I haven’t seen done before….. Yep, changed the suspension links again to some generic Chinese offerings which do offer more protection than the Injora counterparts but this do have a touch more slop in the ball/socket bits, not massive but more than the Injora ones. im sure at some point they will be better ones, when they do, I’ll probably end up swapping them out again lol. So, i was watching a film a little while back and in it was this light bulb moment of inspiration. (Can’t remember the film now for the life of me..) Using leftover bits and bobs to keep the cost down was key, with everything i needed came in at under £20 for the materials. now before i unleash the pics, there are flaws and imperfections all over it but i kinda lost a little enthusiasm when i needed some more plastic quadrant, i had some sharp cornered stuff but when i bought some more i realised it was a softer corner so looks worse for it. It has a full interior with a mini kitchen, bed above the cab, seating area with tv and toilet/shower. again threw some stickers at it to give it that older look. paint was a nightmare, originally planned on using Tamiya racing white as i felt this would work against the red nicely, but the nozzle on the can started spitting out paint and made a real mess, flattened it back off and went with a can of Tamiya white and ran out before i could finish. At this point i was considering just leaving it as is but my kids told me to get on with it and complete it so in the end i brush painted it with the little Tamiya jars the clear coated with Modge-Podge matte finish, it looks of but could have been much better…. So now just waiting for some nice weather for some outdoor shots, should look better.
  12. Hmmm, between this and the new rustler 4x4, i wonder if its possible to freshen up my old Stampede 4x4 to a bit of a truggy look?? on the exploded shots, it looks like the front and rear end of a lcg Slash 4x4, anyone else thinking that??
  13. Sorry mate, only just seen this. sent you a pm with pics and details
  14. Bit like Christmas there mate, i still get excited now in my late 40’s lmao.
  15. Keep us updated please mate, seen these myself and wondered if it was any good.
  16. I have a 4 channel charger id sell, its only been used as a back up but never needed it. that has 4 screens , one for each port. My lad has one of the smaller toolbox rc chargers, great for small lipos and dead easy to use, thats been going strong for a good while now with no issues. if you want a pic of the charger, let me know and i can pm one over
  17. Deal done. still looking for stuffs, stock and upgrades as well as a half decent micro servo, Hobbywing 1625 esc, small Spektrum dsmr receivers. Very long shot but im after a brown F-150 shell must be as new condition. got stuff to trade/swap or PayPal, cash on collection etc. I'm not after any Bronco bodies, Bronco wheels/tyres or stock Defender wheels/tyres. Thanks for looking
  18. Bump. in need of a half decent micro servo (tr4 preferably) £30 all in, thats the same as buying a pair in the packet before posting…… thank you.
  19. In essence, yes. I wanted to keep my defender as scale as possible so i went for the Injora 53mm shocks, with 55mm tyres, my lad on the other hand went for the 59mm shocks and he has managed to get 62mm tyres but it does rub at extreme axle flex. I can get you a pic of them to compare if thats any use??
  20. Just be weary about the weight you add, it will strain the stock electrics if its mainly brass. personally, steer clear of high clearance links, they leave the driveshaft U.J. Exposed and it getting hung up (ive done this, straight links are definitely the way to go.) stock shocks are approx 53mm, the Injora alloy shocks at 53mm sit perfectly on the defender too, 59mm shocks will work to but raise the truck (something you wanted??). Use 20wt to 30wt oil for the shocks too. if i were spending your money, go for alloy hubs/knuckles (less wear then brass), servo horn and steering link and suspension links. then in brass, go for wheels (or bead lock rings), hexes. It will weigh in less overall but will be able to cope with the current electrics. then learn how to drive it, yes they are a little top heavy (especially if its rammed with scale bits and bobs) but learning to master it is much more rewarding. again, just my thoughts based on what ive built and the terrain i use them on, (this can differ massively too)
  21. Little update of the latest project, Built from the ground up using Traxxas chassis rails, shock towers, gearbox skid, battery tray, axle casings. Upgrades are complete gearbox/gears, driveshafts, links (not the ones pictured), steel diff gears, hubs and knuckles, bearings bumpers, wheels/tyres, shocks and probably more lol. this is the last one im going to build for now (unless a 8x8 gets released then im all over it!!)
  22. As what @Alex97 and @steephill have already said basically, there is the Injora ir40 body available now too which looks great for under £30. also if you have any bits from your build left over, id be happy to buy it off you mate for a quick lift and tyre fix, i would stick on a set of 59mm Injora alloy shocks, then you can get 62mm tyres (swamp claws i think) without too much fouling, offset wheels will help beef it up too along with wheel widening hexes but as already mentioned, you start to lose the “scale” appearance. looking forward to seeing your progress
  23. Nice set up you have there fella.
  24. Price and pictures please fella. Might be worthwhile sticking a bit of paper with your username and date on it too. ill give it until this evening then the thread will be closed if not corrected. cheers.
