Managed to find a dog mess free zone down the park. Then proceeded to drive the LMT how I told myself I would never drive it 🙃 Most definitely destroyed the body now 🤣 Would've gotten some better pics while I was out but I started attracting some undesirables.9 points

First hop up for the XV-02 I’ve also ordered a few parts for it from Asiatees that aren’t available in the UK yet 👍6 points

As you may have seen in the other thread, the postie brought me some receiver/servo terminals and a crimp tool, so I got busy using them! Got a wee little cable on the servo now: Also decided to shorten the motor wires - they were crazy long before, but I think I might've gone a bit short! I'm not very happy with my soldering there either, but at least it's hidden behind some heat shrink: I decided to move the receiver a bit too, as it gives better cable runs for the motor wires: Overall, I'm reasonably happy with it. I think I'll end up re-doing the motor wires at some point, but need a beefier soldering iron first. This is how much I ended up chopping out of the servo and ESC receiver cables, and the motor wires: Also added some "drift stitching" to the bodyshell. I've got a nicer shell, but haven't gotten around to reinforcing it yet, so I just keep this one going! Next job is probably securing the cap pack somewhere sensible.3 points

true brother on the old msc if they were on forward and went out of range they would keep going lol the modern esc once losing signal go back to neutral etc 👍2 points

How have you routed/positioned the antenna in your car? If it is close to some noisy wires (like the ones going between the ESC and motor) or any large metal components (like metal base plates) that can disrupt it's performance too.2 points

If your unsure whether it will keep going or stop turn car upside down give it some throttle and switch the transmitter off If motor stops then it will come to a stop if out of range2 points

Here is mine! Gt helion expert 2016. It’s a sort of a down country bike before they were called that. Focus Black Forest 2015. It’s a tougher xc bike but is getting quite long in the tooth now! https://imgur.com/a/zOAOOqR1 point

This one is going to be starting off in the 1 cell class so I'm hoping for over 100mph but we'll have to see how it goes. I'm used to higher speeds than that usually but then that's with my 1/8th (6S) scale Typhon buggy and 1/7th (8S) scale Limitless which are imho easier to make go fast.1 point

Good idea. Ta. I don't I'll push the range particularly but that would be a good test and good to know how it would behave.1 point

Cheers. Somewhat different to the last time I had a rc car, mechanical speed controllers and analogue servos! Good.1 point

I've been modifying a 1/10th scale SWorkz S14-3 buggy that I bought from @mak01 as I am turning it into another speed run RC. Hoping to use it for some of the various battery cell count classes that my other speed run RC's don't fit into. Before First things I did was to clean and strip the whole buggy down. I've rebuilt the diffs with 100K oil and made a centre spool from the slipper clutch to suit a Mod 1 gear pinion gear. I've also rebuilt all the suspension with added limiters inside the shock bodies as well as outside to get the ride height nice n' low. Thicker oil in those too as well as a new set of harder springs on the back. Pretty pleased with how the builds progressing so far ~ made a carbon fibre rear wing for it too as all my cars run carbon wings that I've made myself. As it sits now.1 point

All set and programmed I need a shorter sensor cable and then I can get the rx wiring a bit neater 👌1 point

Found some small skate/BMX ramps buried in the shed. Not the biggest ramps but they're about perfect for "scale" monster truck driving. Unfortunately the body took more of a beating as I discovered that the back of the ramps are perfect for back flips 😂Really want to get down the park but I have to choose between road rash or dog mess so chose road rash as the amount of dog mess over the park is ridiculous 🤬1 point

I can't believe you let him operate a motor vehicle in a public place haha But no that's brilliant my eldest is autistic and loves going out with the cars but says rock crawler s are boring unfortunately1 point

We’ve been baby sitting my girlfriends Nephew recently so decided to take him out with the trucks. He chose the Defender so we decided to go for a walk around Daventry Resevoir. Just over two miles and 1 hour 40 mins and the Gens Ace 3S 5000mah lipo was still going. Thomas has quite a lot of diagnosed health issues, and can be petrified of the outdoors/weather/dark/forests but after a bit of an introduction to how throttle works, and got used to sensitive steering he was thoroughly entertained and visibily improved his control over the hour and 40 we were out. Was quite emotional to see him actually stick at something in a “scary” environment. Ive checked he has his shoes on and was behaved in public so that banned guy cant kick off haha1 point
