Tamiya Escort Cosworth for me. Always wanted one, wish i bought one, now praying for a re release

I'd like to see a re-re of one of the Cossies, the replicas I have just don't cut it. Plus you get the box and everything :D

The other I'd like is a Boomerang. Missed out on the re-re and I've priced up the parts individually and got to about £180 and then realized there's a fair way to go yet and this could stretch to £300. Doesn't seem a cost effective way of buying one.

There is an original on eBay right now, original 1986 BNIB for £699.

My unicorn..... hmmmmm tough one. Ive owned and sold both of mine. A T-Maxx and a Tamiya Impreza. Next on my list i suppose is a Tamiya Sandshaker. Just love the look of them. I know its a fairly recent model but everytime i have the money to get one i spend it on something else

Mugen Bulldog. Old school but was the first proper RC I ever owned. Found and restored one last year.  ;)  Marui Big Bear.  Wished I'd never sold it but have gathered all the bits for a recreation.  Saw a BNIB Big Bear kit recently but at over 500 quid no way. :o

Might be depending on condition. Original tyres are the big problem as replacements are so hard to find. As mentioned got the bits to recreate one with a polycarbonate body on a stretched Lunchbox chassis.

  • 5 weeks later...

I have recently built a TT02 with a Lancia body shell, which looks good. However, being patriotic and all that, I would love a Metro 6R4 body shell for a TT02 chassis. But which colour scheme? Probably Rothmans. I have looked but I cannot find one. I would be quite happy to spray paint my own if there was a clear body shell, with transfers. It seems that the 6R4 was made, but no longer alas. So, not a unicorn as such, just made of unobtainium... Unless, some here knows differently.... Fingers crossed.

BTW Are there dedicated TT01 and TT02 mods threads? I am particularly interested to see if and how anyone has beefed up the TT01 drive train. ie, motor mount, can it be screwed down like in the TT02? Better screws (or studs) for pinion gear / spur gear casing? And, does the main prop shaft need guides to stop it thrusting forwards under power? Are there other problem areas with powerful motors in the TT01 drive train mine has not broken yet....

It appears to me that the TT02 has rather neatly dealt with at least some of these issues as standard, with official hop up parts (such as a high speed gear set), and with after market parts. Yet the TT01 standard and after market upper and lower suspension arms seem so much stronger than the TT02 ones! I wonder has someone worked out a way to beef up the TT02 suspension arms? Or is there a way to retro fit TT01 suspension arms to a TT02?

BTW 2 Could someone kindly point me in the direction of some / a dedicated (old / vintage) brushed motor thread, please. I have a Parma Cyclone ii 14T motor and havn't a clue what rpm it is capable of, which would help with gearing / in what to use it? Lastly, I also have a LRP DTM Special motor which kept on cutting out. I assume it was "over heating" too soon. Thus, want to see it is repairable, it would be great to get it going again for old times sake.

Thanks in advance, and yes, I am a builder (having to learn about electrics [and batteries] along the way) rather than a driver. But, I will be working on both. 'cause it's fun..

Hmmm, I wouldn't really say there's anything I want that I couldn't buy.

A brushless Baja has always been on the list somewhere hovering, never got round to it though.

I'd really like an RC4WD TF2 4dr with a trailer to carry my SCX10.

I could buy it all easily enough, it's more of a, do I really need it though.

I like this topic, some really nice choices, can't really think of anything that I actually want that's out of reach though.

I've always admired really nicely finished rally cars too, that would be nice to have... No real reason to not buy one either.

I'd guess the reason for not doing the TF2 is the price is ridiculous... On the Baja front, I have a petrol one, I don't really need two.... If the petrol one ever goes, then it may happen, but I'd need a very good reason to lose the petrol one.

This did get my brain working though

Selling my ultimate slash to reinvest in a axial bomber or wraith. Can't decide which one would be better.

Know they been around for a while but not 100 % hardcore hobbiest like others on the forum. .......and missed out when a.j sold his sweet looking wraith with the wild willy figure in it.

I would really like to get my hands on an old Mardave Meteor,  as a bit of nostalgia, as i used to race one years ago at horwich college races in bolton, and also in blackburn.  I would love to get one which is as stock as possible. but I just cant seem to get my hands on one.  I have a parts catalogue so was considering building one from scratch but then its going to be very expensive and probably not worth it.
