Hi got around 10 lipo packs now ranging from 2s to 4s starting to stress me out with storing them, always leave them in storage charge in fireproof bags in a metal container in the garage on a fireproof shelf .But should they all be stored together if one goes will they all go up in flames what's everybody else doing.

Do you worry about storing them together or am I being paranoid.

It crosses my mind every now and then. My LiPo packs are stored in ammo boxes, both are full. Keep them in my bedroom away from anything flammable.

Not used them properly in over a year, but check on them every few months.  I check voltages, all packs are stored before putting away, so if any cells are out, I'll isolate that pack to the LiPo bin in the garden (flower pot full of bad packs)

I also check for any swelling. Slight swelling is fine, but I'll put a layer of gorilla tape around it. if it swells more it shows on the tape, so it makes it easy to see if there is any change.  If the swelling gets worse, it goes into the flower pot.

Been doing this for near 6 years, no issues.

Has your metal container got a hole in the top? I drilled a hole in the top of my ammo boxes, so if something does happen, it can vent.

The other side of it is this. Your mobile phone has a lithium pack in it, as does a lot of tech... You don't store those in a fire proof bag, in a metal container, on a fire proof shelf at night.

Do what feels right, If you feel like you want to isolate more packs to other tins, do it. LiPo packs only let go when something happens to them.

just bought my first ammo storage box from ebay earlier, apparently if you remove the rubber seal it is a good option, instead of lipo storage/charge bags which im using  :)

im more nervous about old small 1s lipos hidden away and going boom, gonna be looking all over the house soon and gonna order another ammo box if the first one arrives by thursday  :)

one problem with hard case lipos is you wont know if the cells are expanding untill they split the plastic case, and as above if i seen any packs i thought were dodgy i threw them in the garden away from any thing and under a ceramic flower pot.

edit: got a lot in my room, about 6 or 8 2s ones from 4000mah to 5000mah

I watch videos like this and think I should be more cautious

I usually have a couple of lipos lying round the house and the rest in an ammo case in the garage. I should add a couple of lipo bags to my next order.

If it was just sitting on the table not connected to anything, why did he need 2 hands to pick it up? That was connected to something.

Can see that he's picked it up by a cable, so either it's not a phantom battery either, or it was connected to something. Either way, this video is bull... It's only there to scare people.

I've yanked a battery out of a model and launched it out the window faster than he picked that up.

Nah the original and think the second model dji phantoms had plugged batteries think it was after version 3 they started to use slot in packs brother looks real enough to me on that video tbh

lest be honest id say at least 70% of lipo fires are on a charger usually due to not checking voltage levels then put on charge causing them to go out of balance even more

in the video start credits it said it was checked to be 5v

any way we always ballance charge our lipo's and keep them at storage if not in use or going to be used that/next day 🍻
