Caphead and a washer? I’m wondering how this would be an improvement. I’m sure there’s a good reason for it, but not obvious to me. I have some capheads so easy enough to do. Is it because you can tighten them down more cos of the deeper socket?

Popular Post Hell horn.
Made some good progress with my sporty rock crawler I'm designing. Front chassis brace sorted and rear to finish off tonight or tomorrow. Then a few tweaks and I think it will be done. After 2 years of messing around with it. To pushing myself to work out fusion 360. so I could make the parts I needed too for it.

Short answer.. you won't strip a caphead and yes I forgot tot say add a washer. Make sure you use 10.9 or 12.9 grade steel bolts.. very common on Ebay from sellers like Kayfast or GWR Fasteners. So happy that it's finally getting close to being finished. I put off trying to design something as I never thought I could do it. Have lots of health issues and suffer from severe dyslexia. So always gave up trying it. Then the best part of 2 years stuck at home made me do it. I Have always loved making stuff. And now I have the tools and the push to do it. I bloody well am. Popular Post BaldyMan
New aluminium front plate and Carnage bumper fitted to the Vantage. Hopefully this will protect the front end more as I've smashed the plastic bottom plate and bent a shock rod recently.

voorsk
I swear RGT made a last minute change to the servo configuration of the Trample, without checking to see if it actually fitted. Or maybe mine was built on a Friday. I've had to cut out a chunk of the bumper so that it doesn't hit the servo horn under mild suspension travel, and today I shortened the connection to the steering rod wotsit, because it was scraping along the diff cover. Poor servo! 2

Redback
Hobao wings seem pretty bomb proof, least when flipped upside down.
Pistols
Today I finally reattached the heat sink to the top of the K4.6 after thoroughly cleaning it with carb cleaner. Cleaned off the old cap screws and applied some fresh threadlock and seated it back down. Hopefully next week when i get some time (~~work is bloody busy today) I'll start the savvy up again, fingers crossed it has no leaks this time and is able to idle.

Shergar
Tried 3S today - that was a rather bigger surprise than I expected 🤣 I bought a shorty pack for my newTRX4 build and decided to test drive it using the indestructible* high quality* FTX/Maverick drivetrain…. All was going very well for a good half hour until I noticed my traction wasn’t quite what it had been minutes earlier…. The snap below with stationary front wheels illustrates this quite obviously 🤣 However turns out a 2WD trial truck is quite enjoyable yet surprisingly difficult to keep moving without getting stuck. Strangely enough it still crawled hard packed inclines pretty well, but was useless in obstacles or logs as you can see! Luckily my fears of fitting another far eastern ‘machined from cheese’ diff were unfounded - but I might need a new propshaft, 3rd or 4th one on the front of this truck. Doesn’t matter what quality I try my driving kills them, so I stick the cheapest in 😇 As a foot note the Holmes didn’t get hot at all on 3S, even though it desperately needs some love!
