Because you've been suckered into buying an "RC kit"... It's very simple to do, you don't need a specific kit.
And you don't need 15mm magnets, that's far too powerful, you need around 0.5kg pull per magnet for an average body, a little bit more if you have lots of accessories or a particularly heavy body, but I would say 0.75kg max.
Your 20mm are probably about 3-5kg.
Also, the dia of the magnet doesn't always dictate it's strength, theirs all kinds of different ratings for magnets, IMO stick with N52.

what
do you do when a can of paint is not the colour you ordered, so instead of a metallic red Ford F150 i now have a neon carrot or whatever colour its turned out, shell going in the bin and never using core rc again, see thread in general rc,

What colour was on the lid? Also, the photo of the red body you posted, did it state tha colour you bought was the same?
That doesn't look like metallic it looks normal colour backed with silver, which is a better way of creating a metallic look on a lexan body.
They are too shiny to look metallic with just a single colour coat.

have never wanted to go to the USA for a vacation, and now i have seen the American big trains and want to go, for me that would be an amazing holiday, the Amtrak have sleeper rooms and wow the sight seeing from comfort of a luxury train

"Buy a hobbywing for speed runner", "oh look it wont fit, no probs cut the wires down cut some chassis away" its in, and faulty, send it back oh wait i cut the wires down, cant send it back, so its in the bin now, project has come to an end, not happy

@Kpowell911 yes im trying to be sensible, TBH only thing i want is the FMS FCX24 K5 Blazer and of course a heap of brass bits from Injora and its not out in the dealers yet so no panic, i could pre order it but im trying to be good seeing as wife got made redundant

All Quiet on the Eastern front! we are not getting so much traffic on the forum lately so to all members keep posting up about your RC hobby, also recommend MSUK to your RC friends, we all have the means to perk things up on here

Still here, will be 14 yrs in a few weeks time. Still look in from time to time, but yeah, carp weather and hardly any opportunity locally to run the cars, combined with being mega busy at work and at home has meant little chance to enjoy & share RC recently 😔 (even the helis have suffered). Do miss it and hope to be back on here more in the Spring. Hope everybody is well 👍

Bit late to the party on this one but anyway... I still poke my head in since stopping being so active towards the end of last summer. I got a bit bored of having threads turning into echo chambers with maybe 1-2 posting occasionally! Even the bigger sections seem quiet now. It's such a shame as I owe so much of my RC knowledge to forums

Amps question: so brushless car, is it right that on 2s lipo it will draw more amps than on 3s lipo in a given same setup?

From what I remember 40 years ago in physics at school. But correct me, if I am wrong. A motor doesn't draw any amps. Its consumption is measured in watts. Then together with its voltage supply the amps are calculated. Watts = VA. --> Watts = Volts x Amps. Then I would say a motor takes what it can get up to its max wattage limit, limited only by the ESC. (Cracking my brain now)... Sorry, I give up. It's too long ago...

anyone know how long it takes for a refund with paypal to get back to the bank account it came from, i want to order a new car and the refund is in limbo, PP shows i got a refund but bank account not showing it 4 days later

@m4inbrain I’d skip the Maxx and I’m a fan of Traxxas but sadly the Maxx is a bit of lemon for the money. Really needs the wide kit and better driveshafts those plastic ones just dont last all that long. Time you do that your into mt410 money and there pretty much the same size

It'll be fine, it's not gonna be my "main RC", i still have the EXB and X-Maxx for stupid stuff, the Maxx is for the garden and a bit of blasting around. Paid £595, which is considerably more than i'd like, but the only other RC that i fancy (Losi Tenacity DB Pro) is out of stock until may (well.. the body i want, can get it with an ugly body but nah). After the Losi the garage is pretty much complete
for a few weeksmy wife said.

Are Pro-line bodies good? worth getting

I only want proline bodys or wheels gotta be proline for me.
But take extra precaution with them. Tape their tires and reinforce their bodies. I've never needed to replace anything once it's been done.
I go OTT on the body reinforcement though you could probably just lightly do it around the edges and have it crack resistant.
But I swear by it after the bangs my slash has taken at the skate park full tilt off the half pipe straight into the hand rail a dozen times and the worst to happen was the body holes opened up but they wasnt reinforced I did them after that and they've never popped again. That body is seriously chopped too weakening it and its still holding together I didnt go ott with that one just around its edges as I didn't paint it. Got it free.

Been searching for a new model for a couple of weeks and now it looks like WS models have stuck an average of £10 on most models, I think i am gonna just have to wait on a used model now, and of course i still dont know what to get
