Im hearing rumours that MJX are bringing out a 1/10th hypergo MT, and that it will trash Arrma bl3 stuff as full metal gears all way through and 4S out of box, should be a total winner

@Kpowell911.....unlike the Arrma you would not need parts for it ha ha
-
@Kpowell911 Even if I go to my LHS for parts for my 16889A-Pro (which is sold as an FTX Tracer in this country) I still have to wait for them to come in. I ordered a couple of front bumpers for it then, when I got home, I ordered a couple from Ali Express. Got the Ali Express ones first 🤣

Going to list the Crossrc Unimog NT4 for sale, been out with it again today and just not gelling with it, if i keep it it wont get used so no point
-
I am now finished with Injora, latest order from them is more than likely going in bin, one wheel wont disassemble to get tyre on so money wasted again

@Kpowell911, i do find the 1/10th wheels and tyres okay, but really having a hard time with the 1/18th sets, i have managed to drill out the offending hex bolt but the wheel took a hit and not so nice looking but at least they are fitted now
-
Really want another Ford F-150 trail/crawler but seems only Traxxas doing them now in hi trail 1/18 and 1/10
-
I see Wheelspin models are having a Tamiya open day April 20th
-
Searching the bay of thieves for a faster laptop just to speed up video editing figured max budget of 400 sobs and the search is totally doing my head in
-
Im paid gold member and running an adblocker and now i am seeing adds on right side of screen, whats going on

Holly rc`s, Tomley is building the Cross XX10 T-rex 10 wheel beast, that is something awesome

Does look impressive.
REminds me of my plans to build an 8 wheel FG based truck with 2 26cc motors, 4WD 4WS, I had enough parts to make it, but when I laid it out...I knew I had no way to transport it to anywhere I could run it. So it never got built.
Whilst I love a statement RC, it's no fun if you can;t take it out for a run!

All Quiet on the Eastern front! we are not getting so much traffic on the forum lately so to all members keep posting up about your RC hobby, also recommend MSUK to your RC friends, we all have the means to perk things up on here

🖐️
Still here, will be 14 yrs in a few weeks time. Still look in from time to time, but yeah, carp weather and hardly any opportunity locally to run the cars, combined with being mega busy at work and at home has meant little chance to enjoy & share RC recently 😔 (even the helis have suffered). Do miss it and hope to be back on here more in the Spring. Hope everybody is well 👍

Bit late to the party on this one but anyway... I still poke my head in since stopping being so active towards the end of last summer. I got a bit bored of having threads turning into echo chambers with maybe 1-2 posting occasionally! Even the bigger sections seem quiet now. It's such a shame as I owe so much of my RC knowledge to forums

I fancy getting an Unimog crawler but cant seem to find a nice one in my lowly price range (sub £200) other than FMS fcx24

on the bonus front its a green light, did better than predicted but having had a bad experience with previous cross AT4 that uses same chassis im not sure i want to part with £400 and then have to sort problems out so still undecided, also to get the 1/10th i would have to sell another model to make room and things just dont sell lately
-
I see FTX has launched a new trail/crawler, the Gladius, 2 speed, portals and remote diff locking, amazing price , looks to be a winner but it seems to have sneaked in with no internet buzz https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/ftx-outback-gladius-1-10-4x4-rtr-1-10-trail-crawler-grey-1355592

@wombat same problem here, i want to reduce my fleet a little, not add to it but not ruling it out
-
So, im using last of my annual leave from work, Thursday to Tuesday, i really thought i might get out for some RC stuff, but wednesday i go down with a vile chest infection, that has had me wiped out, still no better

@Shergar not in any rush to return to work, just wish I had an rc project to work on, though the Fiat 131 bodyshell may arrive in time

L&L models, are they usually a good shop to deal with, i seem to be having a little bit of a problem with them, ordered a body nearly a week ago showing in stock at order, had conformation email then nothing no shipped email no item now showing out of stock, so emailed to ask to cancel and refund

L&L will never give a refund. I'm surprised you even had a response from them. Made an order for a few shells a while back and only received half of what I bought. I sent multiple emails and gave them two weeks to respond but in the end had to do a PayPal dispute. If you really really need something from them use their eBay shop. It'll cost a little more but they seem to behave a bit better on there to avoid bad feedback.

Managed to ruin my action camera, lens had got bad scratches so tried polishing it after watching youtube video on how to do it, so need a new cam
-
Okay gone and done a silly thing, watched a YT video of the legend Ken Block driving his F-150 Hoonigan truck now i want the associated model, but its to slow, looks great but sub 20mph is not enough and to convert to brushless would take it way over budget

@Shergar not got a chassis, the nearest on wheelbase is the Kyosho chassis kit but this would work out more money than the associated RTR
-
So Youtube has detected im running addblocker and has decided i can no longer view video`s on Youtube unless i remove addblocker or go premium

electronic resistors, any idea what rating i would need to drop 8v dc to 5v dc

Hi
Probably popped the resistors, rather than the leds.
Different colour led have different forward (on) voltages. White led have a forward volt drop of 3 to 3.5 volts. This is pretty constant once illuminated, more current makes them a little brighter and hotter, but the volt drop consistent. Any extra power is dealt with by the series resistors.
The 9v leds will just have a different value resistor, 100ohm 1/2w for 2 white led in parallel, assuming 30ma on current each.
Cheers

where is good place to get tamiya spares, after a pair of DT-01/2/3 front axle knuckles, just stock ones
-
Shouldn't of gone to Specsavers ...
paid £290 for new varifocals, and refused them, the distance spec is okay but unusable as readers, they are doing a new order but if they not right i will demand refund

So my email address has been hacked, not a huge problem as its not my main account but trying to recover it brought up another members user name from here, very interesting, please don't ask me to name names

@Bert_w164.....FTX mate, happy to say i have fixed it, i now have control of the account again and can find NO trace of anyone from here, but its really odd that when i found it had been compromised and was trying to use the back up email it asked me to fill in the missing part of an addy that had a members name in it, really odd, very strange, but any way its only a snotmail account so the plan is to move anything of importance to my main email addy and then keep the snotmail for junk, about all its good for

Hate to post this but feel like this forum is going downhill, we seem to be losing stalwart members fast and for me the forum is sooooo very slow to load on each page/section, hope im wrong

I feel like a spoilt child bringing this up but while I am happy to go ad-free and support the forum (honestly this place has been great to help me back in to the hobby), another reason I joined Gold this year was for the slim chance of winning some RC related prizes.
Scrolling back to 2022 and 2021 there were 3-4 competitions per year but nothing so far for 2023. I know times are tough and if they are no longer feasible then I accept that but it feels like a bit of an elephant in the room. Might just be me but thought I would raise it anyway if you are seeking feedback.
-
No I agree @MrCake, the prizes need to come back. I'll get on it.
-
Well, the Element is a game changer, i can see this being pretty much my main crawler, so a few others will be sold, also got a 1/16th brushless basher coming, so the Tamiya`s will be going, if the basher lives up to its reputation might add the 1/14th lancia rally
-
Slash Raptor R what a beast and i cant believe im saying this
- Show previous comments 3 more

@Kpowell911 im not getting one, so wont be looking for a cheap slash, just highlighting what a decent model it seems to be

As is the case with a lot of Traxas products .... aside from a few issues... they are decent platforms, and with the right addons can be made very good indeed. The issue I have always had with this particular brand is their continued massive over-pricing of their old models, their predatory practices as a company, and the fact that they fail to address so many issues on their trucks which it falls to the aftermarket to rectify while they just carry on selling the same old junk at ever increasing prices. £329 for a VXL 2WD Stampede anyone ..... nope. Thought not. Well the RRP is actualy £409!
And that, ladies and gentleman of the jury, is my case against Traxxas.
