Now ditched the kit front bumper as the alloy one I ordered just arrived. starting to look a lot more scale now and very in keeping. not a total like for like fit as the holes in the bumper posts are 2.5mm. just a simple task of drilling whichever set of holes out to 3mm then using an m20x3 inserted from the bottom of the bumper mount and securing with an m3 nyloc on top. happy days What do you think @MrPeaski ? If I'd been a little more careful about slotting out for the front bumper mount on the shell, you'd barely see it. The new bumper clearance is perfect for the shell on the closest hole. Externally now, there's only really the kit tyres and rear bumper that would give any clue as to the kit4 points

Almost 0 rc lately besides a great crawl with the yeti last weekend and cleaning the rigs that are broken. If your motor smokes out the cable holes thats healthy! Tested a motor that was pretty nackered. That'll be the problem, now its a 3 pole motor... Fitted the banggoodebayspecial sway bars from my outlaw to the lads outlaw, didnt use the links included as the stock ones work better than those supplied, should be less floppy on the hill climbs.2 points

Had a Lorra’ fun today!! My mate Al had been on at me about a brilliant spot down Southampton way for ages but I just hadn’t the time..... Until today! About 3/4 mile of rock crawling high traction heaven!! 🥵 XR10 / Bully2 in action, as usual the pics do it no justice and I was having too much fun to remember decent pics!! 😂🙈 Ventru S clinging 👍 Brilliant rock!.. And finally... My mate Al’s Ventru Pro / MOA Again, no justice in the vid! Insanely, I actually managed this move after a few attempts with the sporty ( Ventru S), just had to hang along the rock a little further right before I could pull up... Brilliant day 👍2 points

when you come to fit the mirrors to the Ford shell, there is a mod on youtube instead of gluing mirrors then having them break of on first tumble, clip of the 2 pins on each mirror and drill small holes, use silver elastic string to tie them, then they fold2 points

Put some new zd racing shocks on, fitted a 17tooth hpi savage clutch bell an had to drill my engine mount off as lock tighted it on 🤦 in my infinite wisdom 🤣🤦 so bought some new mounts so gotta wait until the weekend to give it run and see what sort of speeds the new bell is gona reach 🙂 not sure if it's gona do much but will hopefully know by Sunday lol will post pics later as not at home atm. Edited with pics, drilled the mount off and then put a slit in the nubs an they came out easy 🙂2 points

I like that, maybe in a chrome finish (caustic soda and a lot of polishing) would add even more to it as it would match the grille. Could you lower the body posts by one hole to reduce the amount of the cut-out showing! Either way a tidy looking front end. Your mention of a stock rear bumper on the front has me reaching for my tools to see what it would look like1 point

Cheers The approach angle on the front is now unreal. I'll have to measure it, but it looks like it would walk up a wall. This started out as just wanting to build a kit, but its gone somewhere completely different. It'll be an ongoing project for some while at this rate The list of unused DC1 parts I'm amassing, is something else. Quite a few spares here now, for anyone running a standard DC11 point

Gotcha. Not sure what the refresh rate is on the GoPro 6 but another thing that will make a difference is how many satellites it's managed to connect with. You'll get more accurate data with the maximum number connected AFAIK. Still a good video and I do like watching them with the overlay on.1 point

Yeah indeedy, was hoping there would be some used ones floating about. If I end up going for new then I imagine it’d be those 👍🏻1 point

@stimpy yeah I appreciate the shout but that’s definitely too much truck for them (and basically what I’ve budgeted for the 2x somethings that I want to get for them). I do like me a monster truck but other than a trade with the scorpion xxl I can’t really afford it right now 👍🏻1 point

Cheap Chinese cars and even cheaper "metal upgrades" is really a no go zone IMO. At that price point I'd be looking at a tamiya, part support is pretty good, you've got a good range of upgrades out there and they are built well. You should be able to get two cars set up for under £250. Have a look on modelsport and see what takes your fancy.1 point

Good to know there's appetite, if anyone is after 1/8 wheels at postage costs (or collection for free, PM me).1 point

Obviously an older post but thought I'd add my tuppence worth. I enjoy Kevin's video and, although chaotic, I have learned quite a lot being new to the hobby. That being said sometimes I'm not in the mood for his vids so I watch others and then return to his channel when it takes my fancy. Between Kevin, Tomley, RCKiwis, RcKicks, tamiya legends, beyond RC, Shen RC, grandadisanoldman, RC Saylors, Ampro, Mark Bryan RC, RC Review, RcDriver online, etc. I've learned a lot and they have all contributed to giving my 42 year old butt the confidence to give the hobby a try...Kevin in particular made me see I don't have to be overly precious with my RCs as fixing, tinkering and building is half the fun. Anyways thanks to all who make the hobby accessible for born again kids like myself 😂1 point

Slapped a brushless setup in right away. Now running on 3300kv 3650, with a 4000mah 80C 2S and 35k diff oil in the rear. 3S run tomorrow 😈 Trade completed with @Yrkoon thanks bud for the Haribo, laser and spares. Thanks @Stormbringerfor Hobao spares, much appreciated. We are super happy, imo a great deal both ways 😁 and our first Kyosho! I owned a brushless FTX Carnage a few months back, and after a week sold it. This, however, is a keeper. I'm surprised at how well built it is, the plastic is really tough yet has flex and it's clear you two gentleman barely used it.1 point
