Make sure the surface you bolt it to is perfectly flat.

My cheapo pillar drill base wasn't dead flat and it flexed in the middle and wasn't so good :rolleyes:

Tell me more about this. What do you use it for and what are you using for the machine part?

Mines only going to be used on a small pillar drill i have, it'll allow me to hold something in place and adjust the X or Y axis when i drill.

I'll also probably try and push my luck and see if it'll cope with some really light duty milling.

Two bargain XB Tamiya M-03M Suzuki Swifts turned up today, one for my nephew and one for me.

 

Mine is going to the rally route, with rubber sealed bearings, waterproof electrics, a kick up front bumper from a TL-01B, and M-size Rally Blocks.

 

My nephew's one is going to be shortened to take a Mini Cooper shell, then modded for carpet track racing with metal shielded bearings, foam tyres, Super Mini CVAs, etc.
