  1. Cheers Hardcore. I'm of the view that i will try it and see! One half of AnT R/C on youtube, see my SCX10II in action there
  2. Hi all, just got my red mauler last night. Going to be fitting a 1080esc to it and was wondering about a 35t motor too, since i have one spare, as i am happy to trade wheelspeed for torque. Will a 35t motor need regeared pinion /spur? Anyone tried stepping up the turn count yet? One half of AnT R/C on youtube, see my SCX10II in action there
  3. I had that, it was the grub screw on the front drive shalf cup (otherside of trans casing) unscrewing and hitting the motor casing. I'm also wearing the cup at the front diff end of the prop shaft which clicks too i suspect. One half of AnT R/C on youtube, see my SCX10II in action there
  4. Try it and see. But I would be surprised. Nothing to lose tho eh? One half of AnT R/C on youtube, see my SCX10II in action there
  5. I would imagine any other Etronix transmitter. I don't think you can pair them across brands. One half of AnT R/C on youtube, see my SCX10II in action there
  6. Ok rear diff locker fitted no probs. Took a min to work out how to fit it, but once inner cogs removed it dropped in a treat. Tried it around the flat (stainless steel prop shaft) and it seems unconcerned about locked diff which is great. May get out on trails with it this weekend. 7. Nice one! I'm gonna see how the std lockers fit first, simply as I have them at hand, but I like the idea of bluetak esp given that it much allow a degree of slip compared to the metal lockers should it be needed, instead of stressing other components. Great advice. I'll report back. Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  8. No way??? OK, so you just bung it in the diff? I thought it would just rip it up. Any probs with added stresses to drive train? I'm going to do rear diff, take it for a run, then try front if needs be. Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  9. Bluetak? I'm about to fit the official diff locks so v curious. Is this the blue putty for sticking posters up? Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  10. I'd second those opinions. Esp those indicating the scx's basic superiority haha. Only kidding. These are quite dissimilar trucks within the genre, with the scx appearing to be slightly bigger in most respects with the frisky pup (hpi) determined to show the mature hound some new tricks. For its size I was surprised how heavy the Venture is considering how little of it there is. Clearly some serious chassis rails and a fair amount of metal parts lie within. It is indeed a great companion, with the 35T 2.4kg Venture bounding around the 55T powered 3ish kg SCXii.. I'd be curious how they compared with similar motor specs, but why bother? They are great fun and provoke a lot of friendly rivalry and genuine interest with their different characteristics. Oh and it tumbles well. Highly recommended esp at the moment because they're different. Do you really need a Jeep derivative? No. Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  11. Yeah, necessity is the mother of invention right? [emoji16][emoji111]️[emoji482] Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  12. Alright, so I think the solution lay close to home. About 2ft away from my scx 10.2 actually. Because it's for a lighting box (2x size of my RX), and Turnigy receiver switch thingy, and a mess of cables, a stock receiver box is likely too small. Because of the dimension requirement to fit on the chassis, project boxes haven't been found either. Then, as I looked around my bench in frustration, the solution. A plastic tub from Japan which contained some cheap accessories I ordered a while back. It ain't pretty but it fits. The water proof-ness may be a compromise but I can live with not submerging the truck. I'll spray it black of course, so it looks less like a lunch box. Haha. Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  13. Nice one stretch, they didn't show up on my searching. They're ideal except I'd bet not big enough. But awesome research. Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  14. Cheers Big Gaz, yes they look decent. Gonna measure up and see what will fit. Guess secret is all in the keywords in Google [emoji848] Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  15. Hi all, Anyone got any recommendations for sourcing (from UK) receiver boxes? Since most are part moulded into floors there doesn't seem to be a huge choice in spares. I have seen the thread recommending Maplins, but any other ideas are welcome. Im looking for one to hold the light box (RC4WD type) on my scx10.2 so it needs to be a decent size too (approx twice size of std RX unit). I'll measure up tonight and add size range. I can balloon the box but obvs a waterproof option would be perfect. Cheers Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  16. Nice one! Did u install a sensored hyperdrive? Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  17. Yup, order with confidence. It's a good un. Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  18. Some metal goodies for me SCX10II build happening this weekend. Excited!!! Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  19. Yeah great improvement, no small thanks to you. Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  20. Higher speed larking about with the sensored set up, testing the 60wt oil. Initially thoughts are perhaps a tad hard in rear for low speed, but much improvement in high speed / aggressive driving. Car doesn't body roll or lift near as much as stock, cornering much better too. Jumps have composure both take off and landing. Will set up spare rear shocks with 40+ wt and switch out depending on use. Fronts seem great on 60 as v front heavy car. Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  21. Sone footage of my new sensored brushless set up with 60wt oil in the stock shocks Exact spec is on a previous post, but it's an Ares Pro motor, Hobbywing ESC and Turnigy servo. It's creamy smooth compared to snatchy OE brushless set up. Doesn't feel as uncouth and raw. Top speed untested as still on slightly damaged spur wheel from installation pics on previous post. Higher speed runs coming up next Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  22. Fair play. I've got 60wt in mine and tho untested it sure feels good. Each to their own indeed. Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  23. Lol, yes it's a fast Explorer. Zooming about forest trails etc. Not getting 5ft on a concrete skatepark. Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  24. I ran mine when stock with drag brake for looning around the car park racing Terry's Vaterra. Not sure what stock settings are on the new esc. But I'll be tinkering as drag brake real good for downhill stuff. Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
  25. Same lines that I'm thinking. Terry's Bugsta is so much stronger a vehicle than my Outlaw so it's going to become more of a fast trail beast to accompany my project scx10.2 build. Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
