I'd love a proper brushless rally RC, but at least £500 for a 3s 1/10 HPI (the nitro is already £450), not in a million years.

Especially if it's "based off the Bullet MT", which is £320 or £310 for the nitro version. How's this worth £150 premium?

It's a shame HPI believe they still deserve their "premium" price tags; even after everything that's gone on. If they dropped their prices by, say, 15%, they'd do so much better!

They need to realise the goodwill people used to afford them simply doesn't exit, anymore. Even if the models still have the same quality fit & finish they always had.

HPI need to rebuild; slowly work-up to regaining trust within the community. If they aimed their prices at the mid-range market, they'd be in a real sweet spot.

You aren't the old HPI, anymore!!

No they not old Hpi that's new Hpi after 2 bankruptcies and that's same price for Wr8 like pre pandemic.

I think new owners doing great re release some old models ( means spare parts availability for old owners) almost all existing 1/10 shells and recently new Audi gt.

Sure I would love them to put price down but in general more choices is better for hobby👍

A bit too much for a occasional car park basher 🤔

Its just how new  RC is these days =/

I adore HPI as a company, Id sell all my Traxxas models and go to HPI if I had faith in them (i had a large HPI collection back im the day of the Pro 3), they just dont give me confidence any more.

That said. Its a Richard Burns (RIP) Subaru Impreza WRC, How can you not like this

Part of the extra price tag will be from the officially licensed subaru body.

The bullet MT is just a fictional body so doesn't incur the the same costs to make.

I wonder what happened with forum with largest content about Wr8 where you can read " most durable and fun rc I ever had" ,

fast forward to 2022 occasional basher not worthy to buy?

I think its just cause HPI are a bit hit and miss financially lately, and it doesnt give me confidence to sink the cash into one of their models in case spares become an issue

With good reason, unfortunately! I've ordered an RS4 Sport 3, from Tay Models. Enquired about it back in mid-December. The response was:

- Car out of stock. Not due to be in-stock, until late January.

- Camber links in stock.

- CVDs  out of stock. Unknown when back in-stock. "Probably February".

- Race wheels & tyres discontinued (even though they are not only still listed on HPI's website, they are also SUGGESTED PARTS on the Sport 3 page!!!).

So... yeah.

That.

This is genuine concern, but last five years hpi was pretty much non existent and I don't know if I ever had problems with getting parts in UK.

Saying that new owners seems to doing good job, especially that they started when COVID hit.

Don't get me wrong I got my beef with them for not making new rally body for WR8 but reproduction of 20 year old SuperNitro body( I wonder didn't they saw Wr8 fiesta next to snrs4 bugeye 🤔 it will look odd to have fiesta bigger than Subaru on same shelf)

But still kudos for them for carrying support for chassis.

Rant over

As I said before, I adore HPI, They were by far my favourite company, ( Id like an RS4 Sport 3) but im not putting money into them cause of the above. I’ll probably end up witha Traxxas
