What I don't understand is why Traxxas haven't got RPM banned from making products for Traxxas vehicles, they sue everyone else, why haven't RPM taken a hit? Have Traxxas tried and failed? From what I've read here and there Traxxas doesn't lose so long as their case is held in Texas. Don't get me wrong, I love RPM products, they've made my fleet what it is today, usable! I definitely wouldn't want Traxxas throwing them under the bus. As an aside, why aren't RPM making a true-track for the rear of the V2 ERBE? I broke a few To be fair. They were however at the time very cheap to repair. I will say however, I broke all mine at a Skate park. A large scale has no place at a skatepark to be fair to it. In normal bashing I had no issues across 3 X-Maxx's from launch date till I sold mine in October. I switched to RPM's and they never broke. HOWEVER, There's clearly a dig from Traxxas here at RPM. The fit on my RPM's wasn't great and required filing etc to ensure they were smooth. I also had to drill out the hingepins and switch to a high tensile but and bolt as they flexed so much they allowed the hinge pin to drop out. I'm a big fan of RPM products, (the rear carriers for the X are brilliant), but the arms never felt right to me. So for example if the hinge pin diameter is 5mm the hole is 5mm, They dont allow tolerance. I had to file my savage arms to fit. Could be wrong, but Id imagine if RPM are aware Traxxas aren't happy with RPM, they're not confident investing a lot of money in developing a True Track for the ERBE2.0. Its fairly simple to replicate the A-Arms, but True track is a lot more engineering and developing. That said, Id advise against a ERBE 2.0. The driveline is now upto scratch, but the rest of it is no different. If you currently have a ERBE with some mods, id stick with that or pick up a second hand one. the ERBE2.0 was a my second most disappointing R/C, after the Hyper SSTE Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

My Rustler/Stampede's were littered with RPM Parts. I've never been a fan of the looks (colour plastic just looks cheap, and the black doesn't match the rest of your RC), but they do the job. However, I felt the X-Maxx arms weren't quite right. Mainly the captured hingepin set up that stock on a Traxxas Xmaxx. RPM make a captured pin set now, so I'd argue that is a requirement not an optional extra? My 8s ones were fine even with 780kv and mod 1.5 gearing. Unless there was an update in between the 6s to 8s diffs? Now im not sure. Im getting old too! I expect when I pay top whack for an RC that I get the best parts, not second best. Traxxas or anyone else are no longer allowed to file outside the defendants home state, thus reducing the "home turf" advantage and also that of choosing a judge who almost always finds in favour of the plaintiff, which is what Traxxas were doing with the Texas gig 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
