Took the kraton to a bit of wasteland near me yesterday and gave it a few packs, brought it home and whilst cleaning it found a rock stuck under the centre diff had ground the casing almost completely away! There must be a good 2mm of material missing! So while I wait for a replacement casing to be delivered I got bored and bought an x maxx lol I’ve asked in the owners thread, which seems a bit quiet, but no reply, I’ve watched hundreds of videos and read every post on the traxxas forums and I really can’t decide what gearing to go for, I think it will be a bit ponderous on the stock 18/54 so ordered a 50 and a 56 hardened spur and 19 and 20 hardened pinions, I don’t want to lose all the torque but definitely want a bit more speed, it’s addictive after running the kraton! Also bought a Max 6 if anyone’s interested in the stock esc Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Bit the bullet and ordered an 8s today, what’s sensible gearing for a bit more speed from stock motor and esc, will be mainly driven off road with a few jumps etc

Hi Folks, Back in the hobby after 9 years off, had a growing stable of cars back then but my business went tits up and devoured itself and I ended up selling all my kit! Well business has been kind to us for a few years and despite my ever growing list of money pit hobbies, mountain bikes, hifi, computers, scuba diving, alcohol abuse etc, my best friend and business partner has rekindled my love of RC! Starting off sensible this time with a Kraton 6s lolbus and a Schumacher Cougar KD for close up work, had to get something to build during the lockdown and the KD ticked all the boxes and the price was right. Will post some pics of it once its painted if anyone cares! Been out for a sneaky blitz with the Kraton a couple of times and blown away with it so far, it would definitely take both your feet off if it hit you flat out! slowly upgrading a few bits to get rid of the inherent weakness they seem to have since Arma got Horizoned! and that ridiculous radio that operates in a purely advisory capacity! I wont be sending it "to the moon" so sensible upgrades only for now, also upgrade parts are quite hard to source atm in the UK. Very nearly dropped the hammer on an X Maxx last night but managed to talk myself out of it until we get back to work, pretty sure its on the cards, probably should avoid the wine for a week or two!
