  1. Hello to all on here - I'm a first time poster after doing a search for some RC forums online! I have a Tamiya 'The Hornet' which was bought WAAAY back in the 1980s when I was just a teenager!! I have kept it all these years (its been used only a handful of times since then) and took it out just yesterday to have spin, in the garden (after charging the 7.2v Tamiya racing battery, which I bought for it, back in the day. I also have a fast charger which charges the battery in about 30 mins), however, the car had some issues so couldn't actually get it to work successfully. The servo which controls the motor ( so not the steering servo), is suffering from some bad jitter in that, when everything is connected and turned on, the servo horn continually jitters left and right, resulting in the car having a mind of its own! It will suddenly sprint forwards, without a single interaction from me on the remote control receiver, and similarly, will stop and then respond to my inputs?! The servo also randomly cuts off power, in that, say the car is running for a few minutes, all power then just cuts out and I get no response at all? I have the aerial wire extended to the max (in the car itself) and can see no obvious short circuits in any of the wiring anywhere so can;t understand why the servo is showing these symptoms? The car has never got wet, although it has been kept in a dedicated rc car bag but in the garage so I guess the cold air in the garage could have created some dampness (perhaps). Does anyone think that the servo has developed fault hence why its experiencing these issues? I'm also wondering if one of these: https://www.wonderlandmodels.com/products/acoms-electric-package-deal-1/ would be a remedy for my issues (but don;t understand why this shows one single servo when my car actually has 2 - one for the motor and one for the steering??). Here are some pics (the servo with the white servo horn is the one which jitters).
  2. Just brought an mt10 Rival only been out with it twice and the cogs in the servo are damaged it's a reedy 15kg should I replace with the same one or are they known for being poor any advice would be much appreciated 🙂
  3. Hi I am new to this Forum and new to RC, I recently bought an Arrma Typhon 550 Mega as I thought it was a good introduction vehicle for the price etc. Also my thinking was eventually I would like to upgrade the motor and ESC to a brushless system myself rather than buying the Typhon 3S BLX with all the kit already in. My first upgrade was to change the transmitter because from all reports the Spektrum STX2 gets pretty awful reviews. So I bought a Spektrum DX5C and it came with a SR6100AT receiver. When installing the receiver and binding with the DX5C I get terrible oscillation from the servo. At first I thought it was from the AVC (Vehicle control) but then reading the manual I noticed that it states the SR6100AT should be used with digital servos as AVC wont work properly with an analogue servo and can cause over heating. I am not sure how accurate this is and wondered if its just company speel to cover them if the servo breaks? All Arrma cars use analogue servos as far as I can see so I am surprised this receiver should only be used with digital servos? especially when both brands are owned bu Horizon hobbies! Anyway I just wondered if any one had any advice for this and if they would know if the SR6100AT is ok to be used with an analogue servo? If not my options to are either buy a new receiver or buy a new digital servo? Any advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks
  4. Power HD LW-20MG 20Kg Waterproof High Torque Digital Servo With Metal Gear. 25T spline. Great value servo at a bargain price. RRP £28+ This is brand new, never used and only opened to trial fit in an RC that I have since sold without the servo. 5. Hi everyone So im reliving my youth and bought myself a Super Clodbuster but its been a while since i bought any RC parts so i dont have a clue what to get for the extra bits i need. I believe i need a "Radio control system, high torque steering servo, battery pack, charger and paint." Ive been looking at websites etc and i cant make out what is best and im lost by some of the terminology so im looking for some advice. - I think having numerous 3300 mah batteries is best for weight and charging time. Not sure about brand. Is there any difference? - Id like a fast charger but hear constant fast charging reduces the life of batteries so think i need a charger that can do both seen this one Fusion Vector Nx86. - And a good responsive servo and control system. Cant work out what i need!! - Good solid controller. Saw this which i thought sounds ok Core RC FHSS 3 channel. Thought 3 for apare for lights etc - Are there any special tools needed for kits? - How much paint is needed? Thank you. All help is extremely appreciate!
  6. I’ve just got an absima stoke 4s lipo, took it out and within half an hour the steering servo has gone. It also kept going dead, having to turn it off and on again. Any advice and can anyone recommend me a good servo to buy, not sure if they’re different for electric I’ve only ever owned nitro

    Nobel NB4

So... Today I set up my NB4 and changed my throttle servo for a high speed alturn USA servo and when I turned the gear on the servo began to spasm almost, and it just died, it was very hot on the bottom of the servo too tried with other tx and rx and nothing, it's dead. It has in the spec that it is analogue, my steering servo claims to be digital (from amazon). in the Nobels menu, you can change from digital to analogue servos and it was set to digital, would this of killed the servo? I'm so confused! Tried with a high torque alturn servo and it started to do the same, I quickly unplugged it and changed the setting to digital, re-plugged and it was better but not normal if that makes sense? I want to add the second rx to my brushless sct but don't want to kill the servo in it! Hope someone Can help me 😁!
  8. Hi all, I bought the wrong servo mount for my Outcast 4s, as the servo is inverted on my model I can't use it and it's pointless returning it. If you think you can use it let me know and I'll pop it in the post. Its the red one by the way.......and its free! Thanks, Andy.
  9. Hi, I purchased one of the the pictured servo mounts to add a little more strength but I can't for the life in me seem to figure out how it fits, the listing stated outcast but I'm thinking its maybe for the 6s model, mines the 4s. The difference being the servo on my 4s is mounted the opposite way round, so the splines are at the bottom. If anyone has managed to fit one to a 4s model could you let me know how you did it. Prettu sure I'm not going to be able to do it but though't I'd check before sacking it off. Thanks, Andy.
  10. hi so I bought a second hand fg marder of ebay and the engine starts and runs perfect it came with no radio so I had a traxxas revo fm radio from my revo as I don't have any spare radios so I taken it out the revo and hooked it up to the fg and freshly charged battery pack I tested it with multi meter and holds 7volts nicely so soon as I turn the fg and radio on the servos throttle and steering go mental and cant stop them when I am really close it sometimes responds but other wise dose not stop twitching the servo I have it tower pro mg995 witch I have read are crap servos and waste of money but just thinking is it the radio or the servos I read somewhere its best to run a 2.4ghz radio on 1/5 petrol cars as the coil don't affect it ? Before I change the servo I want to know the problem so any help will be appreciated Thanks
  11. I have a HPI Baja 5B SS and some of yous may know me from the other forum. I do not know what is wrong with my steering servo. When the car is lifted from the ground, the steering seems tow work fine, but when it is on the ground, it struggles to move to the right and the left. Thern, when it is moving, espicially at high speeds, it does not turn right at all, only left? Someone please tell me what is going on?! It's not a good idea to take it out with dodgy steering and no brakes!
  12. Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my steering servo on my Hyper7 Black to a metal geared one and I was wondering whether people run a Hi-speed or a Hi-torque servo for their steering? Does it make much difference getting one over the other? I run my hyper on a dirt BMX track and was expecting to change the stock servo sometime soon anyway but a few rough landings speeded up the need for a replacement as its currently missing a few teeth although it is now running on the other half of the gear... Thanks for the help :
