What did you do to your model today?

stretch

Recommended Posts

Hacksawed off 4mm and flatted off 16x RC4WD M4 rod ends - quite a bit longer than required.

As the threaded rods in the links to the TXT-2 were well and truly thread-locked in, it also meant hacksawing off 2mm off the ends of each threaded rod!!

Completed and also re-assembled - Bigfoot is now ready for final set-up.

Broken Record time .... still need to sort out the garage first!!

Won't be (too) long now ....

Took the WR8 and Baja out for a bash. Did this to the WR8:

Then this happened to the baja (right at end)

Luckily it was the bolt that screws through the hex hub that had come loose and even managed to find all the bits (phew!)

"Wheel!"! Hilarious!

BTW, that's the best bashing ground I've seen yet! Brilliant patch of ground!

Yup tis pretty good mate. Read other ppl have been turfed off there by park rangers before but ive been there half a dozen times and not had any issues....I believe those "jumps" are an old pitch n putt area as they do look like old golf greens. Was devastated when the wheel flew off. Thought "this is gonna cost". So relieved it was down to a loose bolt. Needless to say i have checked and re-checked everything is nice n tight (ooo errr!) A couple more for ya :D

And a nice barrel roll at the end!

Rebuilt the ST front and rear diffs, using the 'as received' shimming, plus the missing pair of shims replaced: result, two virtually locked diffs. Cursed, stripped, shimmed as per the manual, result, two lovely smooth diffs :)

Rebuilt the HPI 4.1 big block clutch assembly, the swine has been chewing through bearings like a demon!

Turns out there was a nut loose which is the most likely cause of the problem. Now rebuilt and needles reset. Purrs like a dream.

Off to get some Nanda's now as one of the rears lost it's foam yesterday like the chest-buster scene from Alien...

Broke the st .......again

Doh! (again!)

Dropped the Bigfoot from perhaps 2 feet up about 10 times to test out the RC4WD replacement tie rod ends - all 100% without problem.

Not that I'll be jumping it, but the previous ones I'd fitted would have 'popped'.

Took the Scout based crawler to the woods and actually got to use it. So unusual I only took one Lipo. Cleared a lot of stuff I didn't think it would and didn't break anything.

Sprayed it! It's not perfect by a longshot but for my first multi colour shell (and first shell I've done in 14 years and the fact that I done it in just over an hour) I'm quite happy.
