  1. YORKSHIRENEO - HPI Baja 5B SS - Bingley, West Yorkshire
  2. Im in Bingley but tend to use Hall Park in Horsforth. Theres a place near the car park that looks like several old golf greens which are a hoot for jumping and bashing about although I have read its hit and miss if you get booted out by the warden but I have been there a dozen or so occasions and never had any bother although Im very responsible and if theres too many dog walkers/kids about then I wont run (being a 1/5th Baja 5B SS its just not worth it if something goes pear shaped)
  3. Hi Steve! Been away a while myself but usually bash at Hall Park in Horsforth (top end of park nearest car park by the old golf greens?)

    STOLEN!

Really!?!? Took my HPI WR8 Flux to my local Cash Converters and basically got laughed out of the place!!
  5. Mgozzz, link says 404 not found......?
  6. Put me down, unless its a grand prix weekend.....
  7. Clearly not. I guess the authorities would rather us be causing a proper nuisance by hanging around, drinking, taking drugs etc Sad state of affairs
  8. Same thing happened to mine when the 2yr old grabbed the remote and slammed it full tilt into metal railings I do have a spare chassis i bought from asiatees. Its orange (as was going to go down that route) but took so long to arrive i ended buying an Innovative chassis instead
  9. Im lucky enough to live 15 mins away so frequent MS quite often and have always received excellent customer service and the guys in the shop certainly know their stuff
  10. So stripped the engine down and holy moly, the cause was a snapped head bolt. Replaced, rebuilt and she runs!! Thanks for the help peeps
  11. Stripped the baja engine as it conked out the other day. Turns out a head bolt had snapped! Replaced, rebuilt and wadda ya know.....she runs!!! Bash time me thinks Stripped the baja engine as it conked out the other day. Turns out a head bolt had snapped! Replaced, rebuilt and wadda ya know.....she runs!!! Bash time me thinks
  12. Quick update...drained the fuel from the tank, removed the plug, turned it upside down and pulled the pull start a few times but no fuel came out. Inside looks bone dry so cud it be a fuelling issue? Just waiting for delivery monkeys then i can go get a new plug On a side note when pulling the pull start the engine seems to "rock" a little which ive never noticed....
  13. Thanks for all the help there guys Will try a new plug and report back
  14. Took car out for a bash as per. After 15 mins or so the engine cut out. Thought it was out of fuel but when i checked the tank the fuel pick up was still submerged in fuel. Tried to start a few time but no joy. Got home and checked all the standard stuff; air filter ok, fuel lines ok, got compression, spark plug ok but still wont start. After a few tries the engine started to feel stiff as its quite hard to pull the pull start. Anyone any ideas as im guessing it could be terminal? Hopefully will be covered under warranty.
  15. Thanks for the input guys. Was thinking that the suspension was too soft so will look into that first. I thought that the baja wud have been able to cope with the sort of bashing ive been doing? Guess i need to reign in the enthusiasm!
  16. Took the baja for a bash....last run of the day and does a 20foot high back flip, lands on right rear wheel and snapped a shock shaft. Quick trip to MS and all sorted
  17. Took the baja out for a blast. Gets home, turns it over to start cleaning and discover: 3 of the 4 bolts holding the 2 chassis parts together, missing and the 4th one loose 2 of the engine mount screws loose (probably due to the above) And before anyone asks, yes i threadlocked them all with red threadlock. Now i need some more chassis screws and stronger threadlock!!!
  18. You cant really change the mesh as the engine is fixed with no allowance for movement. According to the manual you just put it on and its held in place by an e clip. The pinion is central and spins freely, no wear on it. Went out yesterday to same place but did a lot less jumps and the spur looks brand new......just though i may have been on throttle on some landing which i believe is the quick way to strip a spur but both spurs did look melted as opposed to just worn down.
  19. You carry a cooker and power supply round??? Now THATS dedication for ya!
  20. Right. This is doin me head in. Went to one of my bashing spots, ran for about 20 mins - mixed driving (full throttle, jumps, a few doughnuts) then the car stopped moving and discovered a stripped spur. Now this only happens when ive been at this bash site and when im jumping so clearly the fault must be my driving style? Below are some vids of the day in question....anyone hear or see whats causing the gear to strip?
  21. Cheers animal Any chance of a link to uk supplier?
  22. Bought them from asiatees website, marketed as a Topcad product. They are little brass coloured screw caps. You feed them over the hydraulic pipe, connect the pipe to the nipple and then screw down the caps to seal the pipes on. Cant get pic atm but they're not the ones above. After a bit of thinking i may be able to swap it out for a sealed one. Just means swapping it over if i need to refill/bleed the system. These are the ones, the little caps with the chequer style finish
  23. Have run both leccy and petrol at Hall Park at least half a dozen times with no issues but i may have just been lucky. I keep myself up the top near the car park and the old pitch n putt greens....awesome jumps!
