I brought a tamiya hotshot 2 it came with a hobbywing thw-1060. When did they change esc from the tble-02s to a hobbywing 1060 and is it better with a 2s lipo?

Could be the esc isn't sending power to the receiver module have you got a spare set up?

Like Stormbringer suggested go to your local track see what surfaces they have and what classes they have eg 1/10 1/8 1/5. Speak to racers get some advice on what they run is it a limited class open class ect some places only allow a certain turn/kv motor or nothing above a certain battery. Once you check you also need to join the brca which allows you to race at any track and fund for track cost if racing locally or racing all over uk
