@babylon yep rude mate, you have gained more upload space as a result yet you have a little dig, i used to be a moderator on a forum much bigger than this one and you would now be toast old son, i now stand by my original decision to call it a day, enjoy your extra file space, have mine as well i really thought we were all in this for the hobby

Personally I'm happy that I can come on the forum, post, ask questions and just read up on things that interest me, and it doesn't cost me a penny. In fact, someone else actually foots the bill so that these benefits (amongst others) are available to us. Not sure why they should then have to pay extra to accommodate someone's own personal preferences. It'd take me longer and be more hassle to try and attach an image of the right size, than just copy and paste a link into a post!

Guys....thank you for the input, and i will say sorry if i had a bit of attitude over the weekend, cant go into the reasons for that on open forum, i still feel the maverick flux XT+ is the one to go for, its not in UK stock as we speak, so i have a week to wait before even getting close to a decision on this, one weal spot is the body shell, it really does seem to be eggshell fragile being PVC rather than Lexan, this truck is due to sell for £249, so another option is the slightly older xt flux at £159 and order some upgrades at same time like the newer HD axles, and spare front arms, this would still come in under £200.
So no decision yet, time will tell

several folk had suggested getting an FTX outlaw, i have had a thought that i could get a brushed outlaw, as i have a new 120amp esc and a 3660 3300kv motor going spare, i also have a Outlaw roller for parts as the wife runs a brushless outlaw, this will happily take a 2s 6200mah lipo, and is pretty good of road, for the kind of running i want it for, the outlaw body shell is pretty fragile but it can be run with no outer shell, just roll cage frame body if needed, so i will give this idea some good thought

Had the Hobao on a FB sales page started to get the "whats lowest you will take" messages so pulled it, might have to consider breaking it
-
starting to get over run with rc cars, might be time to sell 3 scale crawlers and replace with one better model
-
wondering if i should carry on with rc cars, got a nice crawler pickup that i have no confidence in as it just breaks for the fun of it, cant find anything i like at right price to replace it with

that could be a good, no very good idea, to drill through the outputs and put small bolts with nyloc nuts, i have a 1/12 subotech i was going to sell, decided to keep it and fit a scale body rather than the desert buggy shell as this is one very tough car, so looks like it will keep the mauler aswell and try and get the driveline sorted once and for all

Hate to post this but feel like this forum is going downhill, we seem to be losing stalwart members fast and for me the forum is sooooo very slow to load on each page/section, hope im wrong

I feel like a spoilt child bringing this up but while I am happy to go ad-free and support the forum (honestly this place has been great to help me back in to the hobby), another reason I joined Gold this year was for the slim chance of winning some RC related prizes.
Scrolling back to 2022 and 2021 there were 3-4 competitions per year but nothing so far for 2023. I know times are tough and if they are no longer feasible then I accept that but it feels like a bit of an elephant in the room. Might just be me but thought I would raise it anyway if you are seeking feedback.

No I agree @MrCake, the prizes need to come back. I'll get on it.

Trying to find a nice DJI mini 2 at sensible price, what a pain in the rear

maybe going against the trend but heard a few horror stories with buying a used dji, seems if the drone is sold on and not removed from sellers dji account then it simply wont work and so many facebook scammers i have decided to get a used Fimi X8 mini from a friend, also its a lot less money than a used mini 2 but a very similar spec product

Crawler shocks, why are the majority of them utter garbage, i think i might do a youtube video showing how bad most of these are

To be fair, that's why you usually buy known good/expensive shocks. Element GT, or GTS shocks are known to be good, it's not a gamble. My TF2 shocks came with the TF2 (obviously^^), i'd not have bought them myself because i knew prior to getting them that they're likely to leak.
The proline shocks were a gamble - now others learn from it, if anyone mentions them i add my experience, leading to more informed purchases.
So the reality usually is, potentially throw £15 away (nothing's guaranteeing the second set is gonna be better) - or pay £70 once (TRX-4 shocks), but then have some of the best shocks available for your truck, both in terms of function as well as reliability. It can be fun to hunt for bargains, or potentially cheaper parts that do the same thing - but especially in regards to shocks, cheap parts just don't do the same thing. I've used cheap "upgrade parts" over Vitavon or PPS parts (for half, sometimes even a quarter the price), and they worked just fine - but i'll stick to simpler parts. More complicated and/or crucial parts for function, i'll go with the known good stuff.

What’s up guys? I love this hobby all around 20+ years am new to the crawler scene have a trail honcho started adding weight and it bottomed out .I tried beefing up the springs different shocks nothing supported it until I put an old set of revo shocks with the factory soft spring but it does perfect. Referring to cheap parts I thought the Injora metal front and rear axels were so cool and $80 was awesome they look good we’re great for less than a week broke driver front axel shaft. It is machined too far where pin holds drive cup to shaft ,5 times it’s broken do you have any suggestions for a replacement so I wouldn’t have to change axels completely?

I have banned myself from posting on any Traxxas thread, so all you fanboys can relax

lone-wolf keep posting, don't segregate your self on a forum that to be honest needs every post it can get as social media has killed a lot of traffic, it is your opinion and that is all that matters.
at the end of the day were just fellow toy car enthusiasts and all of us are entitled to our opinions on the various companies that make the toy cars, im not a fan of traxxas as a company but i have a rustler and a bandit and more recently a trx-4 and i enjoy them for what they are 🙂

on the bonus front its a green light, did better than predicted but having had a bad experience with previous cross AT4 that uses same chassis im not sure i want to part with £400 and then have to sort problems out so still undecided, also to get the 1/10th i would have to sell another model to make room and things just dont sell lately
-
What colour would you guys use with metallic green for a 2 colour shell?

Bright colours @Jack Reacherfor definite and two tone imho is always good as it can help you tell which way your car is facing at a distance.
My Limitless with green & bright silver. Much brighter in person and daylight.

so still wanting a TRX4 Ranger XLT, may have to sell of all but one of my other cars to fund it might not be such a bad idea though as not using all the cars, even new flux 80HD has only been run on street just once

Imo the bronco shells quite tough but as you say costly, yet to crack the shell on mine but its started to fail in places mostly on the plastic inserts where the screws mount,Get an expensive model, pay the expensive repair price... You could sell all your models if your only going to trail drive. But i dont think you will enjoy it as much as you expect, ive never fallen in love with mine, i like the difflocking but its barely used (unlocked) unless im sending it. So full of frills but no thrills.

got my DC1 on ebay, the truck no one wants, so i get a very cheeky offer of £90......really, some prat in Birmingham

I can't say about most of that stuff as I wasn't aware of what it was up at last week, but the first 5 or so Tamiya's in that section are the same as they've been for a while on there, certainly not gone down in the last month or so, and still a fair bit more than many other UK based model shops.
I'm always a little surprised at the miniscule (if any) discounts that are offered through MS, WS etc, when compared to the far bigger and far more regular price cuts you see at amain etc. Surely profit margins themselves are not drastically different over the pond to here?
