Got to see the XRT in person today and think it's awesome, would have it over an X-Maxx any day.

@Bajadre are you implying I'm a bad driver? Not sure actually!
-
Forum has been updated, it's just doing some maintenance database stuff in the background which is why it may run slow for a day!
-
Back from my holiday in Canada, hence me being quiet! Had a blast with the DJI Mini, will get some footage up soon! 😄

Think I can easily wire up my lawnmower to use RC Lipos instead of these expensive power tool ones? £180 for replacements!

As long as the input voltage and current demands are met, yes.
My daughter has a ride on electric car, it's 12v lead battery gave up the ghost, it now runs on a 3s turnigy HD lipo and performance is more punchy and the lipo doesn't even get warm under use.
Electric cars use to run off 18650 cells in stacked parallel/series cell packs so as long as you have some knowledge of electronics, a multimeter and wire things properly it'll be fine. I say use to, as I'm not sure if they're switched to lipos these days.
For voltage monitoring you can use a 50p inline voltage monitor, I might have one in my spares if needed!
The only exception would be if they have some sort of identification chip built in to stop people using third party batteries. E.g. DJI drones do something similar on some models, so you'd find a lot of them available for cheap but it's because a battery change isn't a cheap option.

Really missed this weather and long bright days, sure makes a difference to your mood!

Hope the new forum layout isn't too confusing!...... should be better for us once we adjust though, less dead areas and more condensed activity! Lets get posting. 😄

How little can I wait between coats of PS paint...?

Too hot to do anything?!

What's the deal with buying from EU now then, what fees/tax can I expect?
-
As jack says, the seller should charge tax, so you shouldnt get stung with that. If it isnt shown on the order... don't go through with it. It will get stopped at customs and then all kinds of charges slapped on for them processing whatever it is.
This is worth a read:

But essentially, it's just a roll of the dice still. The system is so complicated, no-one seems to be able to boil it down into language that normal people can understand.

If you have an ARRMA model checkout the prize giveaway in News section, all can enter. 🙂

Anyone else think YouTube adverts are getting a bit too much recently?

@Tug You can only put mid roll ads in videos 8 minutes & longer. Or do you just mean 2 ads right at the beginning of a 5 minute vid?
-
I see threadlock is a hot topic at the moment... 😄

Every forum section has had a recent post almost, it has been a long time since it has been like that, very happy to see. Thanks guys! Keep the chat going!

@Guns what do you mean by removing the like a post feature?
-
@Nick I think the reaction to a post option on forums is killing them. You get a notification and its a reaction and thats the discussion killed. Its turning forums into social media. I appreciate it probably keeps pointless posts down, but I think it does hurt overall forum activity

Happy new year guys!

Tempted to install aircon at the house if summers keep pumping out this heat! Don't look to bad price wise if installing yourself.

I've got a pretty big portable one in my office, which is at the top of a 3 story modern and well insulated house. I also share that office with my servers.
It makes the difference between being able to work and not... which for a freelancer is also the difference between having money and not.
If I leave the door open, it does also have enough grunt to pull heat out the whole upstairs of the house. Not the most efficient thing to do, but it works.
Definitely get a window kit if you do it.
