  1. Anyone had a UPS delivery lately?

My Hero9 Black is supposed to be here today and just had a notification, due to Brexit 'complications' it isn't being delivered today, there's now basically no tracking information available and no scheduled delivery date or anything.

Before calling UPS, just thought I'd ask.

I was supposed to have a very important UPS delivery today and, as we now know, we aren't a million miles away. Could be that you're on the same route (although I doubt that).

Either way, my delivery slot ended at 14:00 and nothing. Still nothing.

    3. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

I wasn't actually ever even given a slot, apart from the usual delivery hours of like 9-5 or whatever they are.

      Paul Busby

Yeah mine doesn't have a slot anymore haha

  2. Anyone used the Muc-Off website? Trying to apply an apparently 'sitewide' discount code, but it's only taking a few pence off one item?

Apparently you get 15% off sitewide on your first order.

I don't get it half price sadly lol, I figured the 15% discount would be quite nice, but maybe not if it doesn't actually work.

Tried 5 different codes, all took 15% off a sponge

  3. Well, the order for the Orange Crush Comp is cancelled.

Decided to go full suspension with a 2021 Trek Remedy 8.

    Collecting on the 24th 😄 😄

      Oh How Original

@oodboo - I very almost bought that, but I was swayed into the Remedy 8 for the spec, which suits me and what I want to do a bit more.

Both fantastic bikes by the sounds of it!

      Happy riding mate 🙂

  4. Well, that's the most expensive purchase I've made in a long time and it's not even an RC.

To be honest £4m doesn't even get you that much house in certain parts of London, so for £400k you're doing very well.

@bertberr - it's when you have a girlfriend who tells you to buy the one you actually want

    4. Gaz!

      Gaz!

Just wait until you buy your first house or car, it really hits home....

can’t fault you getting the “one” you wanted though, horrible knowing you should have gone for “x” but at the time, made do with “y”

I honestly thought you have got a mortgage though mate when I read it first lol.

  5. Well, I won't ever recommend Barclaycard to anyone again.

So, I used to frequent a website, I bought something a couple of times via them, digital goods, not physical.

I have just noticed they have continued to help themselves to my credit card balance to the sum of £330 over the last month, I don't check my balance that regularly unless I am paying something off it.

Contacted Barclaycard and they won't help me, because I have no evidence that I cancelled a subscription, even though I've explained it's not a subscription, they are simply fraudulently using my details.

Time to cancel it and look elsewhere, what other credit cards do folk recommend?

I'm the same, I use them mostly for my credit rating tbh, I wish I'd seen these transactions sooner though.

Had issues with Barclaycard before over a flight that got cancelled by the airline and they wouldn't refund me the money, even though the flight was still valid and shouldn't have been cancelled.

  7. Is it normal for Traxxas to put so much threadlock onto something you can't actually do it up?

I bought the 17mm hex conversion kit for my Senton, I can't tighten the wheelnuts up, there's simply too much threadlock on the threads, already knackered one wheelnut and before anyone comments, I DIDN'T cross thread it, it goes on by hand smoothly and fine up until it hits the threadlock... Tried melting it off and sanding it off, with no luck, it's like welded on there.

I've used Hot Racing stuff before too, aluminium diff cup and it shattered into pieces, unusually brittle!

    4. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

Well, my initial search gave me a total of £63 for the Typhon 3s parts to convert the Senton not including wheel nuts, but I've done another search today and found someone selling some take off parts and got the total down to £41 with wheel nuts, I believe I paid over £30 for the Traxxas stuff anyway, so hopefully MS will do the right thing and either refund me or replace them, which I will probably just sell, because I've bought the Typhon units now.

  8. Does anyone know of any pre-mount foam tyres that are 12mm hex wheel and around 90mm tall?

  9. So, on eBay, I've noticed that really random listings are offering 15% off and 20% off with two different codes.

But I cannot find a list of all the shops/sellers included.

Easiest way to locate the list?

It's not advertised on the home page (the 20% one isn't anyway, code is PROMOSMALL

    3. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

Yeah I saw it on there too, but nobody seems to know how you actually find the deals, unless they are by accident.

By deals, I mean eBay specifically when there is no code on the home page.

Hotukdeals is quite good, I've seen some expired bargains on there but never actually managed to buy a bargain yet.

There is a search box on the ebay deal page lower down, so just searches those shops offering the discount.

  10. What a dosser... So, in the first run with my Kraton, I broke the 3d printed rear skid plate, it was trashed from using it on grass, so I binned it along with the second one (comes as a pack of 2 for obvious reasons, he knows they are crap) and so I left negative feedback, get messaged by the seller saying my attitude if rubbish and his stuff is made from the same material as Russian bodyshells and are unbreakable.

I literally have the video showing it snapped after about 2-3 minutes lol.

3d printed stuff is ok as long as it doesn't need to take too much abuse and the car is light, a small micro buggy is fine but anything else will just break.

Nothing else is taking my fancy, apart from the possibility of a TT-01/TT-02 speed car, since I have the speed bug a little bit at the moment.

  12. So the Max10 I complained about the other day is indeed dead, taken a video of it this time, you plug in a fully charged battery and nothing.

I did manage to get a couple of speed runs out of it, but it died.

Wasn't even pushing it on the speed runs because my tyre blew a foam out.

Kept cutting out, then now it just won't move, plug it in, press the trigger and nothing, not even servo movement.

  14. Well it looks like the 'as new' Max10 I bought off someone on here is dead... On the first run out it seemed to cog quite badly, which is odd when paired with a Castle or HobbyWing motor, doing some jumps and bashing today on the second run and it just came to a stop 😕

    2. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

I think it's just a bad one, or it's not as fresh as I was sold it as.

Not sure the punch rating would cause cogging, I've never heard of that or experienced it before and most of my Max10s have been set to full.

This motor has run on other ESCs without problem.

    3. mydoddy69

      mydoddy69

What set up you running. How old is the motor ? What’s the bearings like in it could be lots of things a bad servo drawing to much power bad rx etc. Really needing looking into before running it again Dan might be the settings you changed ? Might even be something as simple as a dry solder joint. If you checked all these and there fine then point the finger or you could cause some bad blood over something and nothing

    4. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

Not really bad blood Rich, I'm not naming anybody, it wasn't openly for sale so nobody but me and the seller knows who it is.

The truck was running fine prior to putting it in.

The motor is fine and basically new.

That has been tested on another ESC.

My RX doesn't have huge range, but it's been like that since I put it in, I trapped it in the lid  and it ran fine still on the other combos.

Only real change has been the ESC and as for my settings, I run the same on them all without issue.

Have also ran Max10s on Castle motors before etc... I might try and new RX, but right now there doesn't appear to be any power at all to the ESC, it turned off completely while bashing and wouldn't turn back on, tried with different battery and same thing, other battery wasn't fully charged but at the very least it would still power up the servo.

  15. Best glue/method for gluing foam tyres?

    1. Show previous comments  5 more
    2. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

Well, so the wheels have like ribs around them and beads too, from what I can tell, foams aren't like that, so I just assume there is a different method.

      Oh How Original

I can, but I already have some freebies coming, so I want to make the most of them lol.

Plus the rear is 12mm hex, the front is bearing and the fronts need to be very narrow to clear the shell of the Holiday buggy, it's not really a generic fit they are quite precise.

So I am wanting to try and use the stock wheels with foams on them.

I'll buy that tape and give that a go then 😄

Indeed, I give to St Johns hospice, we also used to do a 5k walk to raise money for them too, I give to my nephews and nieces schools anytime they have anything going, I also used to have a monthly subscription to a childrens charity... I just prefer to do that stuff away from the forum.

      J.K

I have the rugged since I’ve dropped my TX a few times on the trails. Also use it for boats so having it close to water is also a risk. For these reasons I like that it’s waterproof, dust proof and has a rubber skeleton around the edges! Like you Dan I had loads of Spekky RX’s so it was a no brainer for me. It runs like a champ, no issues whatsoever. Also has the little thumb thing on the wheel for one-handed driving. If you buy second hand try to get an updated one with the new scroll pad - The original one was pants!

    3. J.K

Ahhh I won't bother then, I looked more into the low capacity thing, it seems very common for them to be a good 1000-1200 lower than stated.

100-200 I can understand, but not 10x that.

      Alex97

When I was looking the hobbyking selection was very poor and I'm not paying retail price from MS and co. Even the EU warehouse doesn't have a great deal of stock.

    4. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

Exactly, MS is good for some stuff, but I always find the prices massively inflated, for just a different sticker.

Pay more for quality, but not for the same thing with a different sticker.

I may end up trying the HRBs, since they have some good reviews.

Just gotta find a listing with a 4000+mah battery and not a twin pack.
