  3. Afternoon all. It’s been a while.. I dug my 10.2 out of its retirement ‘home’ (a box in the spare room) the other day…and I’m thinking a resurrection is on the cards 🤔

  6. Just buy a Hobbywing 1060 ESC around £20, and run lipo with stock motor. Brushless is just going to break stuff and cost you more in the long run

  10. I’ve had a GT5 and a Radiolink, I’ve just got a Dumbo RC DDF350 and I would pick it over both of them, I paid about £50 off Aliexpress and turned up in about 5 days Up to 10 channels (rx dependant) I’ve got the 6 channel version, but the extra channel are now light controllers, has some really nice settings like cruise control, winch controller etc

  15. I've got a couple of sets of traxxas 2.2 canyon tyres I want to try and remove from the plastic wheels. I want the tyres to use on aluminium beadlocks, so I'm not bothered about damaging the wheels. I'm aware of the various acetone methods. Soaking in and above the acetone in a container to break down the glue. I know you can put them in the oven. Never tried this method. I imagine this won't be good for the tyres, but don't know for sure. If anyone has had any success please let me know.

  16. I’m looking for a wheel type controller with model memory for under £100. I’ve narrowed it down to the Flysky gt5 and radio link rc6gs. I’m leaning toward the gt5 as it’s cheaper and I think it looks better! But I can get a radio link same delivery on Amazon. Is there any reason the radio link would be better? Also the Flysky receivers seem to be cheaper. or does anyone have an alternative suggestion?

  19. As above I've got the same one and highly rate it. I brought another 10 recievers for my other rcs and they cost less that the price I paid for 1 for my sanwa.

  20. Depends, if you build a lot of kits, I think it pays to sacrifice buying another RC and investing in some proper tools. I dread to think whatmy RC tool kit cost, probably the same as a Tamiya Avante, but I wouldnt be without it!

  25. I use my DDF-350 all the time. It's a wonderful bit of kit. especially for the price it was from AliEx. and the 6 channel receivers are about 8 quid each. 10 model memory sucks a little bit. That's the only downside i can see from using it though

  26. It probably ran lean when you were filling it and it blew the glow plug, when running nitros think of a glow plug like a disposable item

  37. I guess not room for a Li-Ion pack in there, i made an 18650 3S 1P pack for my flysky gt3 and only charge it about 3 times a year and unlike a lipo the Li-Ion battery likes to be left charged

  38. It’s a cracking radio, been going through the setting and it has everything you could wish for and more, like cruise control, winch controller mix etc The instructions are rubbish though and seems quite battery hungry, definitely needs a little lipo tx pack

  41. Here's a short video of the my tarantula crawler on the crawler course. This particular section is very steep. Not many of my crawlers can do these few lines. For example non of my trx4s will do these lines with a body on,and even then they won't make most of them. It's really steep for lcg rigs. This shows how capable the little Trx4m's are...

  44. Have to ask, why is Modelsport or Wheelspin not a UK dealer
    1 point
  45. That's why I've never bothered with redcat. Uk spares seem very limited. Plenty of other brands with spares available in the UK.

  46. From what i have seen this will run rings round a TRX4 but then there is the long term reliability, even this Traxxas hater would be first to admit the TRX4 seems to be ultra reliable, i imagine there will be a YT video soon with this rig up against a TRX
    1 point
  47. seen a few YT video`s and this looks a winner on spec and performance but same old thing, we dont have a Redcat dealer here in UK and shipping plus import from Redcat makes this less tempting
