  1. Finished my builds, losi 8ight 4.0 nitro to electric on 6S with HD diffs all around, Hobao Hyper 8 Pro with spider diffs all round. The worn tyres are intentional, they're great for tarmac, don't throw worn tyres out if you run on tarmac they're pretty much slicks 🤪 The losi shell was stripped with acetone then repainted on the inside with a sea green I think, make up shimmer and then lacquered off in both sides to make it pop. Its a bit rough but I like it, especially when the sun hits it, it does shimmer 😁

  4. And you wonder why the cat chews your cars? 😆 The buggy’s look awesome, hopefully get to see this losi at some point in the not too distant future for a blast!

  5. Took the Ryft out on some muddy trails. Good fun, but still a little out of control. fun didn’t last though, all six wheel hub screws backed out. I only noticed sadly when I had one less wheel! weirdly the faux brake calliper on the same wheel had also backed out its two screws. Only found that as I walked back down the trail to the car. Heaving it down with rain now, so more mud tomorrow!

  6. Hello you all and Greetings from America! (its ok, I know) I just wanted to take a moment and introduce myself and thank you all for having such a good forum. I'm from Oregon in the U.S., and have been into RC cars for about 6 years now. I started with 1/10 scale electric crawler i pieced together from a Redcat Everest 10, and an Axial scx10.2 chassis. i drove that for a couple years then traded it for my first nitro rc, a Traxxas T-maxx 2.5 classic and i have been hooked on nitro ever since. i then got a Redcat Lightning STR 1/10 on-road, despite it being Redcat i have always had great luck with them and really enjoy the STR, it has been reliable, fast, easy to tune and tough enough for me ( im fairly decent) to enjoy. my next car i purchased after a long search was a HPI RS4 III nitro drift RTR! I am very much into nitro drifting!* with the right tires, suspension setup, and weight distribution it is very possible to enjoy long high speed drifts with a fair amount of accuracy. I see there are a few posts here about nitro drifting, i would love to talk more to any one reading this to share ideas and setups and parts to keep our units running and and assembled. if you are into it, you understand it is rare to find someone that is actually into nitro drifting and practices it, also how hard it is to come by the right parts XD anyways, hope i didn't ramble too much and look forward to forum-ing with ya'll ✌ 🚗💨

  8. Added some brass portal covers and took it for a drive no wheels lost, no screws backed out. Not the most challenging route, but my four year old was less nervous of this truck 😀

  10. Cool. My mate has one. He ended up adding loads of weight to the chassis and body to get a really lifelike suspension movement, looks pretty realistic now - but weighs a ton and don't side hill!!! 🤣

  11. If anyone knows how to use that to my advantage so I can make my brushed carnage seem faster than my mate's brushless one it'd be appreciated 😜he's very competitive 😈

  12. Definitely mate, if you thought the 2.0EU was nice, the 4.0 is in another league, so much so the Mrs constantly hogs it now. We just took them both for runs, even on 6S the Mrs kept using the Losi! I guess that settles it, we need another 4.0 🥰

  13. Got a email yesterday saying Ofsted will be inspecting one of my child's schools. I told my kid when i was at school all the bad kids were locked in a room for the day and the really bad ones were told not to come into school that day. All they seem to do now is cancel any detentions and ask the kids to behave.

  14. I don't think bike ones update fast enough.. which means you would have to be a top speed a little longer

  23. it has leaf springs no battery.

  24. Yes, significant weight saving possible with battery changes. I run 1500mah 3S units in my TF / Marlin leaf sprung crawlers C1 & C2 respectively. Those batteries still give an absolute age 👍

  25. LEDs fitted, the bumpers come with a 5mm holder built in so it's really just a plug, solder and play job. I've removed the 2nd servo and they were fighting each other, I'm planning on ordering the new power HD tr5 and the spec is perfect. I'm now just waiting on the 540 motor mount from the states then im pretty much ready to go. I'm using the spare servo as a winch to try and add to the realism.

  27. Fair play, took it in the car earlier and it seemed to be pretty consistent. Will be checking against the gps on my phone too, so if it seems to inaccurate then I'll return it. Appreciate the heads up though 👍

  28. I've now done a little more of the finishing touches to the 'Toolbox'. I have now added some hinges to the lid, well, it's actually a couple of bits of chamois leather that I've glued to the top and rear to act as a hinge, it works good too. There is also a kind of hasp catch that I made with a fine hinge pin and a picture hanging pin for the hasp plate to catch onto. I also bought a small toolkit from Modelsport to put in the box along with some very small screws and a towing shackle that I had spare.

  29. just put my stock Gmade sawback on the scales as it's the only one to hand and without shell it is 1700G It's a bit long for real crawling so could cut it down & remove a few useless parts to save even more weight.

  30. It seems that way. My Gmade GS02 Komodo is significantly lighter than my HPI Venture, despite having the SSD brass knuckle weights and Gmade steel front links fitted.

  31. 1KG SAVING!?!?!?!?!?!? NOT MUCH?!?!?!?!?!?! Thats a significant save if you think you could do it.... For info, my Toyzuki is weighted at 2.2kg. Just the weight is where I want it. My own frame option is slightly heavier due to the parts on it at around 2.4kg... My 2.2 comp crawler ( NOT SCALE) is tubby currently.... Weighing around 1.8kg, should be nearer 1.6kg but hey ho....

  37. As Rover Man said above, it can be an expensive sport to get into and the second hand market is attractive but you don't know what you are buying, what may seem like a bargain may not be. have a look at your local dealer and shoulder a couple of rifles to see what feels comfortable to you, explain what your goals are to the dealer and your budget. you would be amazed at how much advice they can give.

  42. would assume it will be RTR. It's basically a new shell/wheels on the existing Maverick Quantum chassis. Hopefully, they upspecced it a bit to cope with the speed running, and it would be nice if those upgrades were compatable with other models in the lineup. No idea if they are...but it would make sense. Shell is a total ripoff design 🙂
