I accidentally ran over the Kei truck, which apparently belongs to my toddler, so I'm a terrible human and father for killing her truck. As the curse of FTX penetrated it, I lost all interest. Eventually my wife scooped up its remains and it now lives somewhere. 

 

The guilt of destroying my daughter's truck has been eating away at my core ...and so hopefully her new truck arrives today.

I guess it won't be long before the council start billing me for repairs to their kerb stones 😆 with the state of my skid plate after my recent outing. 5mm Ali plate bent over like this.

 

 

 

 

Dare I say it..... it didn't ride over like many times before it just came to an abrupt stop.

 

All fixed and ready for another day.

That would have been a good spares truck if Fields of Glory didn't have the Tamiya MudMad for £56 with free shipping...I did request a price match with MS, but MS said its probably a pricing error on FOG's behalf...My order with FOG went through and was delivered today. Anyone interested in a MudMad (SW01 chassis, same as mini lunch box) here's a link:

Cleaning much neglected shocks.

Put the air cooler thingy on the front of the Montana, not sure if the longer fuel lines will hinder the performance but will fit out tomoz lol 

Also serviced the rear shocks as they were saggin a fair bit, regreased the rear diff as it was old and hardly any in there and added some washers in the front lower arms, no more play in them now 🤠 and I put the standard wheels back on for now as the spikes were a bit too grippy and kept rolling it today

Got all the chassis done tonight and small test drive .The shock are going to have to be  redone as ive got one soft and the other three are hard i beleave i put to much oil in?   with  painting  the body( toss up between mustard yellow or dark green)and build up the deck left

Full strip and rebuild finished! 
Fresh oils, fresh grease, even took the seals of every bearing to clean re-grease then never bothered cleaning the wheels/tires 😁

Ready for a good pack or three tomorrow 👍

Put some class 1 tires on my JL. They’re intended for a straight axle truck, but aren’t looking too shabby with the portals

Stripped the knackered Maverick Quantum and turned it into a Tamiya last night. My daughter found it much lighter to carry this morning and isn't so intimidated by it.

 

The ESC is quite big compared to a Tamiya model so must be top mounted and prevents the driver from being installed but I've always found the drivers to look a bit naff. Had a nightmare with stickers as I stupidly had the wing upside down and had to carefully lift hem off and turn it round. Then the silver square at the top showed a massive lump which underneath was just a microscopic plastic bur that had to be lifted and sanded off.

 

I'll see how she gets on with this one and whether it needs oil shocks

Diff lockers where also in the box of bits so I’ve locked the rear and stuck 1 million oil in the front and centre 👍

Sanded and painted some scale tat for my cars.lots of bad words where shouted at the car. Lol. I bloody hate painting. Why did I choose to do this?

I need a couple extra pots of paint to finish them off.

Sounds like you got a good deal, for what I intend to do I think the centre diff wouldn't really help however I'm going to use diff putty in the front.

Got the hyper all sorted and I've just given it a quick blast on 3s. Goes well so may just stick to 3s for now !
