  1. hi guys, i need to do a proper coolant flush and wondering what is the best way in doing so? do i need to remove the thermostat? i have a drain tap that i can use but would it be better taking the lower radiator hose off? which of the lower hose do i remove?

  2. does anyone know what this big pipe is pleease?

    20220407-165719.jpg

there is something wrong with my car and i just cant seem to figure it out. loss of coolant and overheating but if i loosen the expansion tank cap slightly then it doesnt overheat. it seems like when i tighten the cap then it overheats and that big pipe gets really solid like its over pressure and when the pipe is soft, it doesnt feel like theres any water either.

I would put money on a head gasket blown, there is a small chance of a hairline crack in the block but most likely head gasket!!

    3. froggy8

      froggy8

i am guessing it would be an expensive repair?

i was thinking about coolant sealant as a last resort.

    4. shaunm

Sealant is a waste of time and money if its a gasket, the only way is to do it properly soz.

  3. hi guys, i need to get a 1.1 car and been advised that skoda is quite reliable but problem is there is no skoda near me, what other cars are reliable that i can check out please?

      Again, +1 @m4inbrain

Do you really need a huge boot?

If not, consider a Mercs C class petrol (2004 - 2007) where they were galvanised after 2003 IIRC and less prone to rust...They just go on forever as long as the basics are seen to. Sometimes E classes will come up at similar prices to C classes. My neighbour has a E class wagon (diesel) I know he's selling for around £1800,  having taken it out on a drive on some twisty turny roads, I was surprised at how well it handled and it's smooth power delivery and ability to slide (remapped diesel torque monster, huehuehue)

I clearly still get animated over 1:1 cars 😉

Dude the world is your oyster, just saw:

      got 1500 budget

wanting over 100 hp, mine was only 70 and wasnt that powerful

bit bigger than the skoda fabia

You can find some really nice and interesting cars at that price point and spec lol.

V70s and S40s are cheap as chips, definitely within the budget you stated, even good ones. 3 series, at least good ones, might be a bit harder in that kind of budget, but doable.

Good luck either way, the one upside is that you'll get your car quickly - we're 5 months into the wait, and are potentially looking at another 12. 😭

  4. could anyone recommend me a decent car oil extractor/pump please?

  7. hi guys

i am trying to fix a bike wheel but i dont know what the part is called, the thing goes inside the back wheel:

    20220304-153612.jpg

something is stuck inside and i cant get it out.

No, it won't be a QR cam, as you said it is solid axle.  Occasionally an axle can snap and shrapnelise inside the hub and bits get stuck in there, but it is very rare.  The hole in the hub is only marginally bigger diameter than the OD of the axle - they don't make contact along the length of the axle, rather the axle is 'suspended' inside the hub by way of the axle cones 'sitting' in the cups of the wheel hubs.  Thats why its important to have decent quality, and well adjusted / lubed bearings.  So, I'm really struggling to think what might be 'stuck' inside the hub?  Have you tried using the old axle as a drift to gently tap out any foreign object stuck in there?

One other consideration before you expend too much time & money (not that much really as quite cheap!) on rebuilding the hub/axles, is the general condition of the wheel itself - rim, spokes, hub etc?  If any of it is damaged, worn, you may just find it easier to buy a complete rear wheel, can get them quite cheaply from the likes of Tredz, CRC, Merlin etc.

    3. froggy8

      froggy8

      many thanks for that

i will get more info on the thing that is stuck inside and will report back.

buying a wheel does seem like the better way.

tried to find an image but found this vid instead:

      https://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+assemble+bike+rear+wheel+spindle&rlz=1C1MSIM_enGB975GB975&ei=kZ8iYs-RH7KD8gL_7qH4Dg&ved=0ahUKEwiPnsj6zK32AhWygVwKHX93CO8Q4dUDCA4&uact=5&oq=how+to+assemble+bike+rear+wheel+spindle&gs_lcp=Cgdnd3Mtd2l6EAM6BwgAEEcQsAM6BQgAEJECOgsIABCABBCxAxCDAToRCC4QgAQQsQMQgwEQxwEQowI6DgguEIAEELEDEMcBEKMCOggIABCABBCxAzoLCC4QgAQQxwEQowI6CAgAELEDEIMBOgUIABCABDoICC4QgAQQsQM6BAgAEEM6CAgAEIAEEMkDOgYIABAWEB46CAghEBYQHRAeSgQIQRgASgQIRhgAUKolWP56YId9aANwAXgDgAH3CIgB3TqSARA3LjE5LjMuMS4xLjAuMi4xmAEAoAEByAEIwAEB&sclient=gws-wiz#kpvalbx=_PqEiYse6I4bXgQbD_ragDg14

if you forward it to 5:40 mins, it shows the set up, it seems the long metal tube at the bottom axle to the left, that is stuck inside the wheel.

      took more picture:

      20220304-232914.jpg

if you look at the bit where i have circled in black, that looks like the metal tube on the video, it seems it has gone in before a cone or a bolt so when the wheel got tightened, the tube got stuck in there.

maybe message the seller, they could help and if not Google search and I’ll bet that there is a online video of one being set up.

are the motors suitable matches to that esc, or is it just random?

i was wondering why when i roll the cars, it sounds loud but still moved ok. when i looked on line, it says the losi spur gear is 0.5 mod but the lc racing spur is 48p. i also read its nearly the same pitch but not ideal, i will need to change the spur to lc racing ones as i am now using lc racing pinnys.
