  2. The crawler course is looking pretty good. This is not all of it. The cement is dry enough to get a go hopefully before the rain starts.

  3. Finished second in the oOple Off Road Open Series in the vintage class! This was my first ever race buggy way back when I started driving. The car to have at the time was the Associated B4, but I couldn't afford one of those so I ended up with the older B3 instead. Decided last year to dig it out and give it a rebuild so I could drive it again. It's the first time I've raced the car in about 13 years. I never had a single good result with this car, I don't think it ever even won a race, so I really wanted to change that so it can enjoy it's retirement with a good story to tell! I couldn't quite get the setup I needed unfortunately, the car would either bounce around wildly or grip roll aggressively depending on the changes I made. I decided to go with the grip roll as this was more predictable. The rain helped a lot on Saturday as the grip roll wasn't an issue in the damp. But the finals on Sunday were dry, which was a shame. Here the B3 stands with the backup chassis, just in case it was required (luckily it wasn't). And here I am with the P2 "trophy" (actually an oOple branded bottle opener 🤣). The pink and yellow Losi won overall, a really fast car in the dry that I simply couldn't catch, but I was beating it on Saturday in the rain, clearly two different setup directions! Also Modelsports own Simon in P3, finished just one point behind. I'm not sure whether he's a member on here, but thank you for the excellent racing if you are! Fantastic racing and an excellent weekend.

  5. Bashed them! Little run up the heath on my own today (not tearing off tights with ma teef 😉) Only about half a pack through the buggy as that's all that was left in the tank. I'd taken it to a mall a few days prior. Still waiting on those wing parts to come but they're in the country now. (might mod the 'stuctural' wing mount and delete the wing all together as I think it'll look awesome without it) Next up was the little beast in the middle... My care regime for them seams to work quite well. Water tends to 'bead up' on surfaces and the whole thing is easier to clean. and finally the Mad Max mobile on the left of the bench This thing rips on stock setup and battery. All I've changed are the rear tyres and removed the wing. All done. drained a pack through each of them. Small breakage on the WLToys today but that's all the damage there was and that part was hot glued on anyways. Edit: Spelling

  6. I've had a crawler course in my garden for years. I had quite a few wall building projects with big piles of stone lying around so I've made the most of it for my crawlers. It went most of the way round the garden. I've made a few bits permanent with cement and stone. But most of it originally was stone and rock piled up. Like my stupid user name suggests I live on a steep hill. It's probably nearly 30ft from lowest to the highest point in the garden, so there's plenty of steep climbs and descents. Here's a picture from the cctv which shows most of the recent work I've done. It's good for 1/10 crawlers and good for mini crawlers. Trx4m is a great size for it. The terrain is very unforgiving (when the truck tumbles down it) , mainly sandstone and a strong mix of grit or sharp sand, so very grippy. I've done this so hopefully I can use it all year round. The other stone found in the local area gets slimey in the winter or very wet weather. The Trx4m tarantula is very good on the course. And here's the Bronco coming down a section.. And here's another little line in the Bronco... Thanks for looking and if anyone else wants to show your crawler course, please do.

  14. yesterday i let my niece use the ftx mini crawler i won from here and she loved it, still a long ways to go for her controlling models properly but she had a blast and the wee transmitter was a lot better for her 🙂 fitted a alloy gear box guard to the wild one which looks like it should provide a lot of protection to it and the motor 🙂

  16. had the wild one out yesterday for its first test run and i love it, had a problem with range which i supsect was due to the slightly dodgy servo i put in it, found a much better servo for it but not tried it yet, also had to dremel a few wee bits to get my big batteries to fit nice 🙂 my wee neice was out to play with me as well on the first test run and was all excited for me to play with her again out side the house so let her try the grasshopper, she knows how to do full speed ahead into things or steering but not both at the same time lmao and no damage to the hopper 🙂 think ill get that wee mini ftx crawler i won from here charged up as the transmitter is tiny and a crawler will let her get used to the controls 🙂

  19. My injora tarantula Trx4m. Can't call it Traxxas because there isn't one traxxas part on it. This thing is a little spider, I love it.

  20. Drove it, rolled it, crashed it, soaked it, got it stuck, winched it out, lent it out and had a blast. First proper RC day out I’ve had in a couple of years, took Krystal out to play in the SST quarry and had an absolutely fabulous time - it’s really reminded exactly what I love about this hobby.

  24. It’s all been happening….. now back in the day, Saturday evenings were full of cool programmes, one of my favourites was “Fall Guy” and this is the image that stuck in my head, was from the opening credits and was in the early episodes if i recall?? Now before i get dragged across the coals for this, ive done it my way and to be fair, other than getting a few nice shots outside, i am very happy with it, i have one minor job left to do. The real truck was a GMC, ive used the Ford F150 the decals were from screen print digital on eBay and were excellent throughout. please be gentle with me….. Could really do with a few sets of no. Plates making for this and the others. thanks for looking.

  27. Fitted the lay down servo on my tarantula. Had to bend the plastic frame and add a couple of spacers. I have overdrive front and underdrive rear on the tarantula. It's just for crawling so I think it's worth having. The only downside is side slopes. It will kick the rear out at little.

  30. Oooh, just had a parcel land, opened it and thought it was the wrong colour on first glance…. Ready to be fitted….. It’s quite a bit darker than the online pics, i think if its backed with silver, it may brighten it up a touch. Next up is the Ir40 lmao….

  31. Got a body and tyres for the Baja this morning. Decided to go without the side pods and seeing as the Flux version doesn't bulkout the area where the petrol engine goes i trimmed the body right back on both sides. Also cut down the underside plastic skid plate to make it better match the contours of the chassis.

  37. Thanks mate, that's what got me! Those bodies are so good looking. I've lowered my blazer high trail with softer springs, sags down quite a bit.

  38. Been busy so THE most expensive 1/8 brushed crawler does not have even a hint of grease in the rear axle, and oddly just one rear shock had a preload spacer not the other ! Had the rear axle out and rather than heavy grease i have oiled the internals, better than dry, i have moved the esc/rear shock towers forward to lay the rear shocks down a little (free mod) stripped rear shocks, lubed with green slime grease and fitted a pair of 1mm Orings under each piston all back together and this has had the desired lowering by a couple of mm and fitted high clearance stainless links to rear, still got front to do. I also took tyres of and fitted 60cm of thin solder to each wheel hub, then taped it down, can only help

  42. That is true, 319 GBP is a lot of money when you need motor, ESC, servo, RX, TX, battery, paint, etc but then the re-re Fighting Buggy is 379 and the Avante 2011 is 499. I got my BBX for 165 GBP in a flash sale at AsiaTees so that made it much more appealing!

  47. Stripped and cleaned the front arms and uprights and made a list of stainless steel fittings to reassemble the front end with. Also had the front shocks apart and refilled them with heavier oil so probably wont add stiffer springs. Was going to pull the front diff apart but not feeling the love to get covered in gooey oil right this minute 😁
