Was lucky enough to meet both these guys at the ROSSA UK Speed Championships Event that I attend twice each year. This year they came to the August event for the first time ever to run at ROSSA which was fantastic as Raz had a huge journey to make to get to us especially with all his kit/cars. Kevin's video here: Raz's video: ROSSA site here: https://rossa.org.uk/ ROSSA Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1641915416068313 Fantastic event ~ if you're interested maybe come to an event next year.4 points

Definitely agree it was good of him. Both Kevin and Raz turned up at the event with huge pressures on them, after all they both wanted to break the World Record and not only that, they had stated to literally hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people through YouTube that was the goal. Add to that it was their first ever ROSSA event with a huge group of people they didn't know I think they did amazing under such pressure. I have watched Kevin's videos on and off for years purely because I like RC & he covers so many of them but I've never really been a fan of his presenting style. However that's just for the camera and after meeting him in person (Raz too), talking to him at length over the 3 day event I have to admit he's a really nice guy imho & very humble too. It was really nice spending time chatting with both of them and meeting the real people they are.3 points

I'm not a massive Kevin fan however fair play for him going around to everyone and doing shout outs.2 points

He was on a right mission last night. He also thinks he's spider man or spider snake as he somehow managed to slither right across the top of the back wall of his enclosure ๐คจ ๐2 points

So, after being left a bit frustrated by the supply issues facing the Kraton 4S platform, I did the only sensible thing and picked up a Kraton EXB. The actual tale of the tape was that a few of us went to Arc Raceway in Essex last weekend and whilst I had a great time with my 8th scale tracks, it was clear that my two buddies were king of the circuit with their X-Maxx's. With that memory fresh, my mate spotted a lightly used Kraton EXB on a Facebook group and sent me the advert. After a brief chat with the seller, I left work and jumped in the car. The truck came with a Hobbywing Max 5 800kv motor combo, Savox large scale servo and Sanwa radio and receiver. When I arrived the truck was as advertised, the gentleman was cool and the price was good. After the details were sorted and paid, I loaded the box (and postage box) into the back of the car. Banana for scale. Unreal how big these things are when you're not used to them. Got it home, checked it over, lots of red wine, then started to play about with it. It had all been put together very well, however, it was geared up quite high, or higher than I'd like to run anyway, the 65 series motor mount was already fitted, with the 39T spur gear and a 39T pinion. This was how the truck was as I got it home (minus the shell and wheels). I then proceeded to clean things and slowly remove bit's to get the motor and servo. Got the motor and ESC out, removed the 39T pinion and had a good look about, everything moves freely, smooth and how you'd expect/want. The previous owner said he'd had it out three times, and to be honest it seems that way. I've ordered a 30T pinion, so I'll see how that does with the 39T spur. Got a couple of the Gens Ace 8000mAh 100C 4S cells on the way as well to get the hefty girl on the move. Hoping to get her out soon to see what all the fuss is about .....1 point

Great videos, showing the spirit of ROSSA at work, its not about the records it about the people! Hope they make it to the much cooler and reliable july events, aug for the last 2 times in aug have been a bit damp and much cooler but not ideal for 200mph runs still as the runway is ice as soon as it rains. The lad and I are enjoying watching what we missed and look forward to seeing more custom builds at the event too. Eg. This awesome idea, its got so much potential like Kevs EDF. I hope he goes again next year! Great to see familiar faces and your cars again in the video's, how did you get on @GMballistic I know pie smashed his own world record twice.1 point

So, the clutch on my 919 is fully worn out. The bike's done 54k miles now so I guess it's not done too badly. I bought it on 30k and I think the first owner liked stunting, so it may have lasted longer otherwise. Anyway i've been waiting for the replacement parts to arrive from David Silver Spares, (friction plates, springs, anti judder ring), for a couple of weeks now. I think some of it had to be sourced from dealers in Europe, but should hopefully all arrive in the next few days ๐ค. But on the up side, it's meant me borrowing one of my dads old bikes for the past few weeks. A pretty rare find these days, it's a 1990 BMW R100RT with just under 10k on the clock from new. So, a rather different kind of motorcycle compared to what I'm used to. I've ridden cruisers before & much older British bikes, but nothing quite like this. The boxer twin is extremely vibey at low & high revs but somehow kind of smooth in the mid range. The 60hp and 74nm torque feels more like 30hp and 40nm because the thing weighs about 250kg ๐ But, it's also such a joy to ride. It just chugs along happily and wallows it's way through the corners. A very comfortable ride, for about 30 minutes, and then you start to get a bit of pins & needles in your hands from the constant vibration through the bars. But, I guess that's just part of it, and it's a nice change of pace riding something that makes you want to drive like captain sensible, rather than goading you into riding too fast, like my Hornet does.1 point

Good day today! First hurdle was to convince them to let me run the Slash in with the 1/8th class. There were only 6 of them with another one turning up late so they were happy to have me in! As I said the other day, My van is out of action so had to use the camping set up as my pit area, not quite the neatest pit area out there but I was most concerned about keeping my sandwich in the shade! We ran 4 heats and 1 final today. That's taking a little bit of getting used to as when I ran TC it was 3 heats and 3 finals, a bit less track time but it does mean it's a bit more relaxed between each time you're out. Conditions were much the same on both tracks, dry and very dusty and only really getting worse with more people on the track. 1/8ths were out first so I loaded up the Slash and got on the track for some practice before heat 1. The tyre change had made a huge difference in grip compared to when I ran it there last, could actually put a bit of power down without it just spinning out. This meant I could actually feel the benefit of the new SCT combo. It's so much smoother in power delivery than the VXL and noticeably faster. Temperatures felt good throughout the day, both components coming off after a run at 7-8s of comfortable finger contact. Generally, the Slash went around about where I was expecting it to be, last! It was getting thrown about by the bumps a lot more than the proper 1/8th cars, but I was improving through the day. I threw on the AKA Impacts for the last heat and it transformed the car positively again, felt like I had enough grip where I wanted it and could slide it a bit into/out of corners quite controllably. I managed to qualify 6th out of 8 for the final, purely down to a couple of other guys DNFing in the heats. I had probably a minute or so of the final running around in the pack, and I felt like It wasn't too out of place. Unfortunately, the weight difference meant any contact with other cars usually resulted in me coming off worse. I ended up coming home 7th, last of the runners. I had a huge amount of fun with it coming last and there's definitely room to build on. I'm thinking a LCG conversion might be working its way to me soon, as well as some new shock and diff oils. Spot the odd one out! The day with the Xray was pretty easy going, P3 in the first 2 heats, P5 in the 3rd through over driving. I tried to make a throttle expo adjustment just before the start of the 4th heat but in a rush I accidentally did it to the steering channel which resulted in a car that felt hugely different to drive and I really struggled but just about scraped P5, which qualified me in P4 for the final. After a messy start, which put me in last, I spent most of the race chasing down everyone else and trying to keep out of trouble. I managed to catch up with P3 going into the last lap and when his car decided it would be fun to perform a random cartwheel on the straight, I snuck in to grab my first podium of the return to racing with a P3. Chuffed to bits! Car felt really good all day, I think there's a lot more pace in the car than what I'm capable of extracting atm so hope that'll come eventually. Really good fun racing. Next race day is in 2 weeks, I'll try get over to the track before then though. Now to sort out these 2 dusty boys!1 point

My son has done an amazing cartwheel'ing of his RC earlier this afternoon. Of course, this always ends with bad breakage- 2 x bent rear drive shafts!! I'm not able to bent them back in shape (as I don't have the right tools), so time to order a new set as it will be easier!1 point

As the booster fried, mounted the aerial to give the transmitter some range again. 2ft wasnt really workable. Pulled the max 8 system out the FTX Banzai and back into the LST, mounted battery tray to chassis sits just above the steering servos, better than bolted to the motor mount like before, better weight distro too. But it wouldnt turn on... Soon found my last bodge to the broken switch wire had failed and there was no wire to solder too. Thus had to delid, cut back the heatsink, and cut deep into the potting to find a bit of wire, an ugly result but a functioning esc none the less.1 point

Yeah, seems like it's a thing doesn't it. Cool, well I'm in no rush so I might order one of those from M2C. At a very push, I could just Dremel out like you say. I'm hopefully having looked about and asked about I can keep this set-up and get it working.1 point

The vocals and production on this whilst listening with a decent pair of headphones or speakers is awesome. You can hear when her voice peaks, she takes a quick breath, amazing.1 point

Just use a parcel forwarder. I mean, Traxxas prices were always moronic, but selling a truck for ยฃ530 in the UK when it's $299 in the US is taking the cake. Not just 1-1 converted, but 1-1 converted and doubled, that's gotta be a record of arseness.1 point

Welcome aboard. So much competition for RC videos on YouTube so just try to enjoy what you're doing rather than focus too much on subscriber numbers is my advice. If you're trying to grow your channel then it might be worth joining some groups on FB like Tamiya Legends where you can share your videos regularly. You can of course share them here as we all love RC. ๐1 point
