  3. Hi, I thought I wanted to share some of my pictures of my current build. I will keep it briefly and then post updates from this point on. So basicaly it started as an E-Maxx and then I added the FLM chassis and hybrid bulks with Hyper 7 differentials. I also switched to a Leopard 4092 1730kv recently and the truck is very powerfull. How ever with more power comes more risk and in order to perserve the drivetrain I have invested in a center diff. A while ago I snapped the transmission output shaft and that was with 2200kv motor, so I immagine what a 1730kv can do. I waiting on delivery of two center differentials from a person on a forum, the Vorza 48T and Hyper 7 46T and some other stuff, I paid around 150 SEK for everything and it was a steal. I also waiting on two additional Hyper 7 diffs because it is cheaper to get complete diffs from fleebay than buying individual spare parts if something breaks (and it will hehe). My current differentials are Hyper 7 as well and they looked good after 6 months of use. Because I have such a long motor and alot of eletronics the only real solution was to order an RC-Monster Vmaxx chassis, universal diff mount and skid plate. I hope I will be able to fit the ESC as well as the Rustler reciever box behind the differential mount. I know you can cut the FLM chassis to accomodate the center diff mount but I wouldn't be able to fit the ESC anywhere (the motor is located towards the rear with this conversion opposed to the front using the Vmaxx chassis). Also we have the driveshaft problem, with my knowledge using the Vmaxx chassis I can re-use the rear FLM dogbone and use a 93mm Hobao dogbone in the front, sourcing it locally. Actually I intend to use another proven Vmaxx build as reference so it will hopefully go well. The truck weight alot around 6.4-6.5 kg or something and this is mostly due to electronics as well as a body covered in drywall tape, Goop and home made a tailgate fender. How ever to keep the temps in check I use a YR 30x30mm fan on the ESC with custom mount and the temp stays around 35C maximum after 30-45m full running. The motor gets hotter though despite using a fan so I suspect I may have it geared to low or something. Old school chevy body with new tech under the hood. I digg the theme. 1515 vs 4092

  4. You might get away with just ordering another set of front posts to mount on the rear as the body holes are almost at the same height (rear is slightly higher) I reckon it'd look great!

  5. Nifty! I bought a brat re-release a few years back. They come with two shells, I use the bendy lexan shell for bashing around and I've not finished building the plastic one yet. It's red and that's it haha.. but I did place it on the Outback when I first bought that and it sat well. Mega adjustment on the rear body posts though. It'll be interesting to see yours in action with it fitted!

  7. That's a really great video, FTX should pay you for advertising the trucks, you've done a great job on the mods, I may send my two down to you for tuning , you are right about the red/white colouring - but the blue/white looks good as well, Fred

  9. It's certainly testing the articulation on the Outback's! I've added little blocks of wood on each rail which can be spun around to change things and make it trickier. I'll take another pic tomorrow.

  10. I always normal or fast charge my batteries almost to full. If I remember I'll switch to balance charge just for the end, sometimes I let them finish then balance charge. even doing that they can take a while to balance out but normally get there in the end.

  11. Ohhh no, I'll never match the bike lol, unless it's a complete accident but yeah the feeling of freedom is like nothing else. I'm sure most know the feeling like, but it's very new to me!

  16. Just been for my first ever ride out on my bike, ahhhh the freedom!! By somewhat of an accident, a mate of ours turned up on his new bike and so we all went for a spin round. Another accident is the matching colours lol. My YBR 125 I picked up today, my Dads Bandit 600 I bought him the other week and our mate Briss came up on his new TDM 900.

  17. Thanks Fred, I'm glad people like watching them, I enjoy putting the footage together and seeing the end result. Can be very time consuming though, clipping clips down here n there..

  19. I'm glad to hear it will be close to fitting! I think I will probably get another set of body posts when I do the swap so as I can return to the bronco body with relative ease. Also toying with the idea of using magnetic body mounts on the brat body and filling the holes. Need to rein myself in a little I think, got too many ideas for this already!

  20. Have you thought about converting to brushless? Not sure nitro is best suited to you.

  21. So close! Just need the mount now..... I'm charging the battery so might just get a couple of industrial cable ties to give a quick run tomorrow! The Traxxas receiver box is really neat and tidy to hide the wires. Sent from my EVA-L09 using Tapatalk

  22. I just purchased a 1983 tamiya brat hard body to build myself a pick up, after a little research I found that the brat and the outback have almost identical wheelbases (3mm difference) so should go on well? heres some pictures of what I would like to achieve although reality could be far different!! my concerns at this stage are with the width of the brat body and the width of my axles and wheels with reference to clearance on articulation. We'll see I guess.

  34. I used the SH 28 crankshaft in my LRP 28 Spec 3 for a few tanks and it fits/works. Pretty sure 454 and Lrp 28 are same internals, according to what read. What are your key crankshaft dimensions to compare?

  35. Still got mine, just changed the wheel/ tyre combo to Proline/ Badlands and SC10 shell. Parts were an issue to get hold of, I believe that FP still stock them.

  39. Good luck, every man and his dog want to move to my p.code.(ex24) Catchment area for one of the top 4 schools in England, so mums from London with work away dad's like to buy second homes here, in order to get a better chance of kids getting into school....Some londonites also purchase/rent homes and never even live in them!!! (P.code only resident) Makes it extremely pricey for us working class!!

Swapped out the esc to a 1060, The limited power in reverse is just sooooooo annoying!!! otherwise some great Weathered Rc time.

  46. Finally made the last prototype of the Aluminium panels that il be fitting to my FTX Outlaw. Version 1 - Door panels on the outside. Version 2 - Door panels on the inside. Version 3 - Full length panels on the inside, This is the final mock up and I am cutting the panels in metal right now. The gap behind the bonnet but in front of the window screen will be filled with some mesh from the front of a old speaker cover or something similar. Unsure yet weather to so material netting on the side windows or just leave them il see what I think once it's all ally and the interior is back in.

  48. I hit 75Mph with the FF03, chuffed! I think a little over 80 is possible with it's current setup if i could just get a good run! Still on 2s with a Hobbywing 3.5t and V3.1, 120amp ESC. I'm building this 418 for 3s runs and aiming for over 100Mph, mmmm shiny thing And there multiplying! A TB04 Evolution 4 added to the fleet.. mmmmm shiny things
