  1. I run 3 Carisma Sca-1e vehicles and they are all fantastic machines wether you are just starting out or having been trailing for a while, you often hear seasoned hobbyists say how well they perform. They offer a great basis for upgrade too and can be easily modified as you start to want more from your machine. Definitely worth considering.
  2. I’m keeping my colour choice hush hush for now, just in case I completely ruin it and need to make a sharp exit? if all goes to plan, the pictures will be on here. this sca-1e is my modified RTR chassis and is running full droop on the suspension so will be giving it some crawling duties to attend to at some point. I’ve spent a bunch of time getting the body mounted as low as I can for it to look good while also trimming where necessary to get rid of any body rub. Pretty sure I’ve got it to the happy place but only a test on the rough stuff will tell me for sure. First layers of paint went on tonight??
  3. I definitely think that is what Carisma based it around, if you look up the Brabus version it looks very similar to the prepainted lynx body on the RTR. Ive used images of the G wagon to help with my colour scheme choices??
  4. Not today but have recently started work on a new project shell for my Carisma SCA-1e, a Lynx shell.
  5. Started adding some scale details to the Carisma F150.
  6. They are a great truck and great to build, a few quirks in the builders manual but easy enough to correct by yourself. As @Gaz! said, get yourself a set of rubber sealed bearings to fit in place of the bushings during your build, the axles have a fair amount of bolts so having to strip down again at a later date would be a pain. I think the main transmission in the kit comes with full bearings now? theres a fair amount of detail parts for the shell which can be a little fiddly cutting out for, but Carisma have really put the effort into the body and putting the time into fitting all those bits really pays off. Enjoy the build and look forward to seeing your creation?
  7. Made myself a new more effective steering link on project F150.
  8. Changed out the stock wheels for some SSD beadlocks and took the new rig over the garden rocks.
  9. I’m a big fan of my both my Carisma SCA-1e rigs (modified RTR and a kit version). Really good out the box and a little bit of thought on mods and they become really capable machines. Just don’t run them on a 3s lipo without gearing down on the motor pinion otherwise the smoke ghost is likely to escape. Your going to love it?
  10. Thanks man, much appreciated. Would you believe that Ivan Carisma shared them from my Facebook page! Doubt they’d use them though? All taken on my old iPhone 5 on a windy hill in Bristol?
  11. Not today but over the weekend managed to get the new shell and serviced chassis out on the rough stuff.
  12. Finally finished project “Dog Ugly” with a little help from some sand scorcher door numbers
  13. I’ll be there for sure? Let me know what trucks your driving and I’ll look out for you should you make it?
  14. Don’t suppose your heading up for the mendip scale trail and fun day this Sunday?
  15. Very good, some really challenging sections. You can have it as mild or as wild as you fancy it. I only drove a relatively small area and it was fantastic, so much more to explore there. Definitely worth a visit if your ever in that area?
  16. Drove the Dirty Dog hard at Cheddar Gorge?
  17. Hit the woodland trail with the junkyard dog.
  18. I make mine from m4 stainless steel rod and cut my own threads and use rc4wd rod ends. ?
  19. I really enjoyed my Sca-1e kit too, a few quirks in the manual but the whole thing goes together really well. The shocks are great to build and operate far better than the stock RTR units. I went with an Austar 35t motor with non stock 13t pinion, hobbywing 1080 esc and a 17kg metal gear servo and tactic ttx300 radio. I changed the steering links to one of my own construction and also an rc4wd superlift link for added scale appeal. Also upgraded to full bearing instead of the bronze bushes. She had her maiden run a couple of weeks ago and performed fantastic keeping up with an scx10.2.
  20. Finished the gone in 60 seconds Eleanor tribute truck.
  21. Rc scale and rock crawling (Bristol and the south west) and the one that’s organised the meeting in November Mendip scale off road Rc ?
