Hobbyking closes UK warehouse

In case people haven't heard hobbyking have closed their uk warehouse.  They announced the closure a while ago  and were doing a deep discount sale but this was suspended due to covid and it's never re-opened.

And the company "Lucky Stuff" they used to sell under is now registered to a flat in Northolt Middlesex

In other news they were fined by the FCC

Shame as the UK warehouse was only about 30 minutes from me.

Its a shame.  Not great for the hobby in general either.  Like others I ordered anything from them for couple of years, not from choice, but because they literally never had anythging I wanted to buy.... 😑  Spent a lot with them in the past.

that is a shame. years ago they were a go to place for lipos and all sorts.

they seemed much less competitive and full of choice now I have come back to hobby.

that fine cant have helped - $2.8 million for

" marketing noncompliant transmitters used to relay video from drones to amateur drone operators "

I guess by not having a UK base they can continue to ship here but avoid the regs.

Many years ago they were the go to place for lipos and I got loads of lipos from them. Apparently it was a very bad move for them when they branched out in to model trains etc.

might explain why when I tried to order for the first time recently it just bugged out...

Shame as they had a good selection of the screws I wanted to build up a comprehensive spares box... I was hoping to buy from one place rather than get everything from different suppliers.
