Myself and my daughter’s bf - he’s got the FTX Outback - will be honing what little crawler skills we have. It’s had a few tumbles in the woods close to where I live too, so you’ll be glad to hear the paintwork has a few running-in scratches. Enjoy yourself at the crawler track, spent all day there today, lots of fun.

I want to see tons of pictures of this beaut! Isn't that where @CarlC goes? EDIT: Didn't read all of it, Carl does go there, lol. Popular Post RC_County_Crawler
Been a bit busy. Here are a few pics from my visit to the Herts crawler course. I absolutely hammered the body shell! This is not the crawler for this type of thing - the CoG is far too high. Going to need to restore the paintwork
stimpy
Nothing better than a restored Rangey 👍🤣
Popular Post RC_County_Crawler
...so I’ve decided to go the lexan route. Thought I might as well give it a go as the Enduro build will have a lexan body. Needed to practice on something, so here’s my first attempt. Clearly went for the ‘66 Chevy C10 and after watching a few Hemistorm videos, I took the plunge. Trimmed the body and sanded the edges to smooth out any small rough areas. Here it is with the rear bed masked after I cut the post mount holes. Marked up the outside with permanent marker for the different colours, then used a light box to cut all the lines prior to spraying. I used RC Core Chrome backed with Tamiya Black, with the bed and rear panel in black also. Then removed the last of the masking tape and used RC Core Fire Red, backed with Tamiya Gun Metal. Also cut the tape to spray the Chevy name on the rear. For a first effort, I’m really pleased with how it turned out. Hopefully the front will turn out just as well. I did mask out the rear lights, then applied the decals that come with the body shell. So the lexan is clear behind the decals, with a view to installing some lights behind in the future. Thanks for reading 👍🏻

Popular Post RC_County_Crawler
All done. Really enjoyed painting this body. Certainly looking forward to doing another lexan shell as & when the need arises. Sits nicely on the chassis. Can’t wait to take it out!

Badcrumble
That is a gorgeous shell and looks great mounted on the chassis. The kind of thing I might aim for and fall well short! Really like what you did with the chrome. Enjoy!

RC_County_Crawler
Thought I’d give this build a bit of an upgrade. Don’t think I’ll go with the Samix weights & brass knuckles together right now, so I’ll just install the knuckles.Looking forward to seeing how the Desert Lizard shocks perform Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
oodboo
I was looking at them internal shocks for my scx10 but they seemed to have less travel than the stock shocks. They were listed as having 19mm travel vs 28mm travel on the stock shocks. I do like the look of them though, can you measure the travel please?
