  1. Hi A.J. If the Link is still available, I'm in! I tried to pm you but computer said no!
  2. I think it knows that, based on its reputation, I bought upgrade parts including metal chassis, steering upgrade, rear arms, rear arm mounts, hexes, steel spur for the standard box and alternative gearbox and a brushless motor / ESC combo. It is taunting me...
  3. I have been very lucky with my Outlaw. So far no breakages. Today it ran three NiMH packs in the hands of a 7 year old. You can be sure he isn't gentle with the throttle and brake! Every so often it just stops for a minute and won't respond to any input I can't decide whether this is a thermal cut out or the ESC on the fritz from too many collisions 😆
  4. Glad you enjoyed the ride @Shergar! Hopefully there will be some lessons for others out there. Like get it running before spending money on fancy tyres!
  5. He piloted the truck brilliantly, it had more pace than we needed and conquered some incline / decline tests without any roll overs. And the odd puddle. It ran faultlessly. Than never happens for me. Of course, it wouldn't be a 'Crumble RC day without some issue. I went to storage charge the LiPo and the balance lead plug disintegrated. A few scary sparks later and I had everything disconnected . Any lessons for me? Had it been a Tamiya it might not have taken me two years to get it running...and it still isn't finished...
  6. So I charged up the 3S that is too big to fit in the rear deck and we swapped the tyres out for some piddly looking GMade MT1904s (I think that's what they are, it has been a long time. Then this morning, with a forecast of light rain, we hit the trail
  7. My RC love has been waning recently, the winter is never great in my cold damp garage and my spare time is limited and now competing with a miniature painting commission. Mrs BC had an overnight with work so I gave El Kid a few activity options - he chose working on my trail truck with a view to running it today. So it gained the axle shims and Tamiya 6mm hexes it has been waiting for and I tidied up the wiring with some zip ties. Woo hoo! Then the truck threw it's usual curve balls. 1. No compatible XT60 lead for the 2S LiPo 2. Body rubbing on the lovely Pit Bull Rock Beasts
  8. I have to say it is looking like a very mean machine @stimpy. My Pumpkin is meant to be sitting on a Tamiya ORV chassis. Instead it sits in my ever growing Future Project Pile of Shame in the garage while I spend ever increasing amounts on chassis and parts for new 'projects' 😁
  9. I know you don't need much encouragement to get chopping but don't go too far 😁
  10. This thread has been a bit quiet of late 🙂. My bone stock brushed Outlaw got an outing at the weekend, rolling round my back garden in the hands of my 7yr old. He'd been running his Tamiya Dual Hunter but quickly wanted to swap over once he saw the Outlaw in action. I was really impressed with his throttle control in the small area but eventually there were a few coming togethers with the DH. We finished with batteries (Nimhs) depleted and both cars still in a working condition. The motor and battery in the Outlaw were VERY hot at the end of the session but it just won't die.
  11. My comment was a bit tongue in cheek! However, I believe you can get beef tubes for those axles - would that help to lower the CoG?
  12. Narrow the axles 😶 Or fit the flares for a more scale look. Bigger tyres unless you need all the travel.
