  1. On Monday I ordered a service pack 2 for my Dementor from Corally in Belgium. Monday afternoon I got an email telling me they had discount the service pack for me by a considerable amount. I was very happy. Then Tuesday I got an invoice, which include the addition of a free pit mat. More joy for me!! Today (Wednesday) at 10:30am it was all delivered. Am stunned by the exceptional service and feel they really care about their customers. Top service from Team Corally, they certainly know how to get a package into Brexit Britain really fast.
  2. This............. totally my fault. Note to self: do not drive into the only concrete block in the field, at full chuff, under any circumstances - parts ordered - less than £20
  3. This is what being a community is all about, having fun in the good times and being there for each other in the less than good times. Lee, if your still short PM me, you will get home mate.
  4. So sorry for your loss. Go be with your family, money sent to your account

    Fishing Boat Build?

Ah good idea, it has some rubberised foam around the hatch, a bit like the rubber used to seal receiver boxes where the servo leads come out (well, on a TRX-4 anyway). A bit white grease on that would definitely help the seal.
  6. @Ag100 lol, not sure big guns would suit this one lol

    Fishing Boat Build?

Well, final detailing has been completed and I think the little fishing boat is finished (well, as finished as any model ever is). The last detailing has been adding nav lights, a life ring, built a windlass and added the anchor. Finally, added a white pinstripe to the hull. Am pretty pleased with the way this has turned out, looking forward to her maiden voyage. Big thank you to @Stormbringer, your support and advice is greatly appreciated, thank you.
  8. Detailed the hull on the boat with a white pinstripe, added a windlass, nav lights and a life ring, other than a maiden voyage I think she's done.
  9. The TRX4 esc and motor are okay but no more than ok. One of the common upgrades is to change them out for a HW1080 and a decent motor such as a Holmes Hobbies. If you want to go brushless the HobbyWing Axe systems are good, I run both my TRX-4s on HobbyWing Axe 540 2300kv setups. As Jimboi said, drive it, enjoy it then upgrade what you think it needs. Keep weight down low, under the shocks where possible, I like the Fastrax Weighted Portal covers on the front, personally I keep the back unweighted. The standard tyres can be modded to improve grip, it all about removing some of the centre lugs, Youtube has a number of videos on it. Other than that the TRX-4s are a solid truck and drive pretty well out of the box.
  10. @J.K Thanks. All good here, hope you and yours are all doing well. Looking forward to getting back up the track - you better dust off your Kraton, I've got a Corally Dementor now 😁 - and I'm definitely up for some boating 👍
  11. More work on the Nordic model boat.....

    Fishing Boat Build?

@Stormbringer Thanks, the plan is to have it ready for its maiden voyage when the local boating club re-opens. I think I will make it, not too much left to do, just lots of fiddly finishing bits. I did manage to get the front mast on and rigged this evening, still need to link them with some rigging.

    Fishing Boat Build?

Managed to grab an hour today (family have been a bit manic recently) so got the rear mast started.
  14. @Gaz - Oh Magpie Cafe fish and chips are exceptional, loved those when I used to work up that way. For me, it will be the ability to spend an afternoon by the boating pond trying out the new fishing boat build (now I have a deadline for getting it finished) Then up to HNMC for some crawling (2 new trucks to test) and run the Dementor round the bash track. And a holiday in Wales.
  15. @TurnipJF My parents were the same, Dad had his Z gauge railway and Mum had her embroidery. My other half is big into her garden and has some eccentric home furnishing ideas, but its all cool. If I am ever a bit bored her first reaction is 'why don't you get a new car/boat to build'. Am pretty blessed really 😁
  16. I think I can help. I have these which were taken off a Fighter Buggy RX back when I first got it and upgrade to oil filled shocks (I have those too if they are also useful, but they are quite well used). The blue shocks had very few runs and are in pretty good shape. Make me an offer as I have no idea what they are worth.
  17. Other considerations are covid reduced production in China and now it's Chinese New year, so most manufacturing is shutdown

    Fishing Boat Build?

@Stormbringer thanks, the wooden parts have been sealed with a Ronsil external oak stain, and they have been stained an all sides and edges. Will look to seal the hull paint as well.

    Fishing Boat Build?

Big step forward, all of the electronics are installed and tested, the deck has been fitted and secured and the superstructure fitted (front unit is glued to deck , others are removable. Hull has had some further attention to the paint, still a bit to do but getting there. Quick question, the hull has been sprayed with airbrush acrylic (water based), will it need sealing with a clear coat like Tamiya PS-55 flat clear?
