Popular Post Kpowell911
So. Had a free day so I decided you know what?Lets use my shelfers. Albeit carefully. I charged up a 4200mah NIMH and ran a few old Tamiyas. All of these have an MSC and a 27mhz Radio. I only spent a few minutes with each, just on a block paved 9m x 6m drive way..... First, a TA-01 with a bashed Evo WRC Shell. Wasnt too fused about banging this up, but it was quite intermittant so didnt use it much. The old original compound tyres actually made this quite fun but it was oh so slow. Next up. My favourite. The TL-01 Focus. This seemed a bit peppier than the Evo despite the same MSC and Silver Can? Finally. The Repsol Cosworth TA-02. This is in absolutely mint condition to be fair so I didnt wanna bang this up. Howvever, despite having an MSC and Silver can it felt like a rocket ship compared to the above. This is more like it, reminded me of younger times as a cul de sac terrorist!
Popular Post Kpowell911
After the fun I had, I decided to see what something more modern was like. I dont know why but Ive got 2x TT-02s that are currently shelfers. Never used. Now although this is an R variant, no idea why I consider this so precious.... So. Lets go. Over priced Radio aside. This is a budget set up. 1060 ESC and an RZ brushed motor. Servo is a cheap SRT, and its a 2S HPI Plazma lipo. I found an empty Doctors Surgery car park. WOW. Honestly, most fun Ive had in ages. Was just making my own circuit, was impressed with the handling of a box stock 02R! And it was fast! How fast? Welll I stuck the GPS on and it was flat. So no speed reading 😂 I drive/drifted/jumped for 20 minutes. The shell isnt great, i grip rolled and broke the wing 🥲 Not so pretty now Genuinely. So much fun.

Grogg
Procrastinated. Well not really, I've procrastinated on painting the body shell, but I've built a mount for the FPV camera, transmitter and aerial, which honestly I could have done after I'd finished painting the body shell, as I won't know exactly where on my mounting system the FPV camera will be mounted to, until the body shell is fully painted and finished. All of this will be inside the body shell, so it was probably a lot smarter and easier to build it before I painted the body shell so I could see where everything was. Popular Post Alex97
Got a lot of work done on some of the M03s #2, #3, #4 & #5 (from right to left). All have had a 100% strip and clean, any broken parts have been replaced, metal parts cleaned/ de-greased and then re-oiled, bushings swapped for bearings and any existing bearings have been cleaned and re-oiled (or replaced if passed it). Electronics still need installing and tiding up, I in two minds about swapping the tamiya connectors out for XT60s however as aren't for me I think I'm going to leave them. I also want to directly wire the motors to the ESCs as I loth the old school bullet style connectors but again these aren't for me and it makes it easier for the next person to swap the motor out for something a little bit quicker if they wanted. Personally 21t is more than enough for these little things on 2s. Edited May 27, 2023 by Alex97
RC4WD fan
Started the soldering job on my off road recovery project that quickly came to a holt when I realised I only have red wire and no black wire 🤣 so can’t do anything else with at now until next week 🙄 Edited May 27, 2023 by RC4WD fan

I was thinking of using red wire for the + and - on the LED’s I’m doing but quickly decided not to would get a bit confusing 🤣

Popular Post MrCake
Got in a great run with the DR8 first thing this morning. Think I need to drop the brake level as it does a forward cartwheel on a hard stop but bags of fun with a lot of noise to go with it. Who needs a nitro with a screaming metal transmission.
Stormbringer
And a lot less faffing about as well
Popular Post Rustic Ade
Did some more tweaking of the hillbilly dial on my build. Making sure I get the needed clearance all round before I make a hinge for the back of the shell and a panel for the cage bed. Then to make a front bumper and get to painting. (The excessive height of the cage is to take lights).

Popular Post MrCake
Few hours to myself this morning so went out with the DR8 again, and fancied a bit of rallying. Little bit dusty to say the least but so much fun.
