Drove it in the wild!, this thing is brilliant, drives and handles really well, only downside was that I forgot to use thread lock on the rear hub carriers, so lost a screw, but otherwise a great buggy😀👍

Last car fixed.

New hardened steel spur for the Rustler.

And a new slipper clutch pads.

All the repairs for this week are done.

Ready to bash again this weekend.

Interesting that the plate looks a bit like a fan.

Maybe to cool the clutch, since it is completely enclosed?

Yeah, more surface area equals more cooling. The shape also helps move air.

Next stage in my SCA-1E / 1960 Toyopet Stout project.

Washed and masked the old shell. Going to have to paint this on the outside as I don’t have the budget for a new shell. Not as if this thing ever going to get road rash 🤣But when it does inevitably get scratched, I plan to patch it up with whatever paint I have available, hopefully giving a more organic, evolving old truck look (I think the technical term is “bag-o-*****”?)

Anyways, in the meantime, took several coats of red before the old paint job stopped showing through. Quite like it in red, if this project turns out crap, will cover it all back in red and be quite happy with it 😀👍
