past few days i have been looking at arrma rcs, just kinda torn between a buggy and a MT. been looking at the typhon v3 and granite v3......what to do, what to do.

@BashingBrian Who's HH?
You could always consider second hand. That way, no more money to Arrma, just a little compensation to the previous owner.
I would personally go for the buggy. I've found 1/8 scale to be so much tougher. Also, I find myself using buggy's more than the MT's. Each to their own though. Depends on what you see yourself using/wanting more.

@Ant.p HH is Horizon Hobby.
i like the buggy, i am thinking just get them both so i dont have to keep thinking about this 😄

anyone shopped at stockmustgo.co.uk?

ok guys, i cant seem to stop looking at the hyper 10tt or 10e truggy, i have had one many years ago and i thoroughly enjoyed driving that truggy but its quite old now. wondering if the lc truggy would be up to the task or would it be too small?
-
@Rover Man i would have thought you would have bought the tamiyah truck on f/s unless you have bought it? isnt it similar to the one you built years ago? the red one?

anyone recommend a cheapish lipo charger? i was thinking about getting my old one back which is the skyrc d400, i really liked that. i am sure there will be some better or cheaper ones than that one.
many thanks guys 🙂
-
If you don't want dual charging like your D400 then I really like this https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/skyrc-e680-ac-dc-80w-charger-440716
Had mine for quite a while now and it has been a solid performer for NIMH. LIPO and recently have been using it for some AGM Lead Acid.

Does anyone remember when you could put a card in a phone box to make a call?
One time i accidently put my donor card in and it cost me an arm and a leg!

i have always wondered why frisbees get bigger when they are coming towards me... Then it hit me.

hey guys
anyone invested in anything? lets say i have 100k, what would you lot invest in for growth? been reading alot about this but still quite confusing. in a nutshell, you lock your money for about 20 years then you can either get the money out yourself or the money can go into your bank weekly. i think that is right.

As @stimpy said the problem I think at the moment is a lot of markets are already at or close to being fully valued, what you really want is something that is on the up but not widely known / talked about. Going back a bit I used to follow gold quite closely, and the general concensus was when the world was talking about how great it was to invest in it, you had 'we buy your old gold' ads on TV etc, then the time was actually very much to sell and not be about to buy in. I guess the same applies to some other markets today, I know I haven't bought anything classic car/bike or vintage related for some years now. However, a lot of these older 'rules' are less relevant now in times of near zero interest rates. The fact remains that with the demise of more traditional savings/investment vehicles, asset classes have and imo will remain, a solid option for a lot of people. Where else do you put your money? Problem is the price of entry is now so high for many of these asset classes that it's becoming a playground for the more affluent players only.

@Nick There are tax scams that can alleviate some of this stamp duty. There are also completely different rules for commercial property. All that said, one still needs a decent chunk of cash to get started and a wise accountant to boot. Like most of these things and as @bertberrcomments, once you are on the ladder it all becomes an awful lot easier as more doors open.
Personally, I have generally always made purchases or sales when I have wanted to. I do have some classic cars, and whilst I have made some money occasionally, I generally break even or lose it! 🙈😂

any electronic wizards on here?

hi guys
does anyone know how long drum brakes last for? i have changed mine 2 years ago and it has started to squeal, i am guessing it either needs another drum pads or maybe it needs some more grease on the backing plate. can anyone advise please?

hey guys
could anyone tell me what the laws are on the quadcopter please? last i heard, you need a license for all sizes as before, you only needed license for anything over 250g.
-
Thanks for posting that, just trudged my way through it...my god it does its best to suck the joy out of flying your drone! Guess it applies to helis too. Anyway, all mine are sub 250g with no cameras, so I (think) I'm good to go for a while longer. Certainly won't be buying any new quads or helis now. Just use what I've got until they are scrap.
