  1. Took out one of my hard body builds. Scx10 ii axles, injora chassis with two speed forward gearbox. 35 turn 540 can with a 1080 on 2s. Injora jeep wrangler 313mm wheelbase body. Really good fun to drive. First body I have ever used magnets.

  2. Well yesterday rather than today 😊 Started on the Baja Flux build, started on the rear end first and will move to the front once the rear is complete, obviously. Few places just mocked up for now with what came in the kit but will be changing them to either carbon fibre or alloy. Changing majority of fixings to stainless steel as I go.

  5. Few more bits for the Baja build. Chassis plate, rear pin retainers and top plate for tranmission. Got a single rear RPM arm as well, ordered 2 but they only had one when they came to sending it out πŸ™„

  6. And don't worry about soldering close to a LiPo battery. Unless you literally stick the soldering iron into the pack, it;s not an issue. The cells are joined with big soldered tabs when packs are asembled, and it's not a problem. I have soldered connectors to LiPos many times. Still on zero fires. Heat shrink is a must, as is making 100% sure you have the wires connected the right way round. Also, as Stormbringer mentioned, heatshrink is a good idea. You do not want exposed wires that could short the battery. That would kill the cell

  7. Ran the cartoon paint job shell for a while, but it was only meant as a bit of a joke. Heavy, too! There's 6 cans of paint on that thing! Definitely costing me at least a little lap time! Got myself another Sharkfat-painted shell. Another Phat Bodies GTM. First run tomorrow.

  8. Just thought that it must be a nightmare trying to fly biggish rc helicopters outside unless it’s in your garden and you have a large enough private place. maybe in my case I am better off with micro helicopters πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”

  9. I think speed runners are better if you live in the US. Wider roads and a hell of a lot more empty places.

  11. That's a coincidence...we were there just two weeks ago ! Spent a week in a cottage just the other side of the castle. The slate quarry is amazing, it's like another world up there! Did you go further up to the view point and the "blue lagoon" ?

  13. Took the power wagon out for some trail driving today. It did really good. Compared to my Trx4m bronco with crawler gears it has a good bit more top end speed. I used the 62mm injora hyrax copies, very good tyre for crawling and trail driving. They do rub quite a bit so trimming of the lip from the arches possibly more for running these tyres. I'm going to try some slightly smaller tyres ( injora 58mm tall not sure of the name). Here's a little video...

  15. Something I have wanted to do for years with an RC! Was a lot of fun but sadly underestimated how much extra juice the paddles and the sheer open space would end up draining the batteries super quick! Will do this again in the future with more batteries.

  16. if she unsolders 1 wire then solders it to new connector having put a bit of shrink wrap tubing on the wire , that will help stop it shorting out doing 2nd wire She can use her hairdryer to shrink the tubing down I find it best to shrink wrap both wires

  17. Dropped Mrs Bertberr off in Exeter first thing then drove up the road to a lovely billiard smooth car park on an industrial estate, completely empty, and enjoyed half an hour with the drifter followed by 10 mins or so with the XK K110. Very windy, almost lost the little bird (the heli not Mrs Bertberr, I collected her later), but really enjoyed it, then back home to chores and DIY... πŸ˜’

  18. @Stormbringer It fell off lots of times trying to get back up. Here's a short video of it tumbling down a hill. Rolled down quite a few hills today, no damage. Pretty durable the Trx4ms. Got ruffled up off the dogs a bit.

  19. This is the very reason pretty much all my rc are off road type, so much easier to find a large grass area and even if you do find a car park it has them rc killing kerbs everywhere or you run over a pebble and you are sliding down the car park on your roof

  20. This is my concern. Im not an Arrma fan at all, but Id love to do an Infraction build..... Then I realised, in the real world I sometimes struggle to get top speed out of my brushed Tamiya on roads......
