So my esc and motor turned up today, so fitted them both, bit of a tight squeeze but managed to fit it all without having to modify the chassis, just had to take a tiny notch out the bottom of the upper plate for the esc capacitors. Am really happy with how it turned out, had to cut out the shell for the yeah racing double fan but knew I would have to and it looks quite mean I think. anyway will see how it goes on the morrow!!2 points

Hi guys, neewbie here, I am humbllying trying to learn as much as possible about this world 🙂 so any comment positive or negative is welcome I always wanted to get into RC when I was a kid, now I have finally bit the bullet and ordered a Tamiya Neo Scorcher Buggy (TT-02B) as my first car, what do you think? I was looking for a beginner model to build myself and get started1 point

Managed to make my cheapo shocks work to an acceptable degree. I had to deliberately make them sloppy with loads of plays around the shaft. They'll do until I get something better and they don't perform any better or worse than the standard items. I've heard good things about the Carisma shocks so will probably end up ordering more stuff. Again. Then I'll need shock oil. I know nothing about shock oil. Down another rabbit hole i go...1 point

Nice simple servo swap. This is what was in it: So got a spare. Next question. Does anyone make an upgraded brushed ESC for these with 7.4v BEC?1 point

Right…. Spent hours trawling eBay and found some shocks that were nearly exactly the same length (4mm shorter than stock) they were a slightly bigger bore but not as big as the last lot. Also came in the lovely dark blue. I am a bit of a tart for anodising!! They feel 100 times better than the stock ones so will see how they perform when I go bashing tomorrow. Have ordered a hobbywing max10 esc and 4000kvh motor combo which is coming Tuesday, have probably gone a bit overboard with the motor and it will tear itself to pieces but what the hey!!1 point

A flat ally chassis is a piece of flat ally, it's prone to bending, they all are. My X2 is still straight, but that's because it's been jumped, not sent. The Super 5sc gets sent with it's TVPs, I've yet to bend that. Traxxas haven't solved anything, the chassis will bend, the sintered crown gears will explode, the ESC will smoke and the servo will last six runs.1 point

Hold on... Traxxas have worked out you need bigger diffs in a 1/8 than in a 1/10 ..... wow. Who knew....1 point

the steering servo will plug into ch1 and the esc/ speed controller will plug into channel 2. black is negative - , red is positive + and white is signal s. hope that helps 🙂1 point
