  1. For sale, the @.AJ.-built Exotek Losi Mini 8ight-T. All I've done is given it a chassis protector, some new wheels/tyres and wider hexes, and a RIDICULOUSLY expensive little motor. For sale on Gumtree: https://www.gumtree.com/p/hobbies-collectibles/exotek-losi-mini-8ight-t-ultimate-spec-brushless-rc-truck-truggy-loads-of-upgrades-/1421833793 Sold RTR, all you need is a lipo charger. -Castle Creations Neu 1110/1y, 4550Kv brushless motor (cost me $226.15)-Hobbywing EZRUN 60A speed controller-Spektrum DX2E radio system-Absima Combat Series steel-geared, full-size, low-profile steering servo-Intellect 3500mah 2s lipo battery, 100C discharge rate EXOTEK UPGRADESCarbon fibre chassisCarbon fibre upper deckCarbon fibre shock towers F&RCarbon fibre lipo strapRed anodised lipo blocks/mountsRed anodised thumb nutsRed anodised shock stand offsRed anodised servo mountsRed anodised steering AckermanLOSI UPGRADESAlloy hubs, all roundSway bars F&RHD Lightweight diff cupsHD lightweight centre shaft cupsHard anodised shock bodiesTi Ni shock shafts Hard springs F&RAlloy hinge pin bracesOTHER UPGRADESRPM ball cupsTBR front bumperTBR rear skid plateXtreme RC carbon fibre arm guardsHot Racing steel spurHot Racing servo tabsStickit1 Racing clear chassis protectorWider alloy wheel hexesThe truggy has been used probably less than 10 times, in the 6 years I've owned it. It has never been run without the chassis protector, so the carbon fibre chassis is still pristine. Looking for £225 ono. Collected (Stirlingshire). Might be able to look at shipping, but the lipo would cause issues and I have no other RCs this lipo fits in. Thanks.

  2. Apologies if posting this here is against the rules (I'm not looking to buy this), if so feel free to get rid and let me know. Anyway, you should be fine to ship this with the battery included within the UK using the royal mail. As daft as it sounds you could even ship it internationally if the battery is connected to the car when you send it (we use this loophole to ship some of our spare parts out at work where we wouldn't otherwise be able to send a battery on its own). The Electronic devices sent with lithium batteries section on the guide below should give the official details on this but it's only individual batteries (shipped without a product to go in) that are on the restricted goods list: https://www.royalmail.com/sites/royalmail.com/files/2021-07/royal-mail-prohibited-and-restricted-items-july-2021.pdf

  3. So, I’ve been faffing about with paint samples and think I’ve settled on a new colour scheme for the body shell. Now that I’ve confirmed none of the paints I can find will give me a match for the colour in the pictures of the original inspiration for the build I can hopefully start making some progress towards getting the body prepared and painted before Christmas. Wheelspin have been quite helpful with this by getting the paints I put on order in for, at around 16:00, yesterday to me before 10 today. I’ve also been spending some time modelling a body post mount that will fit onto the front of the chassis to let me get some body posts into a suitable position. Before I make a start on the near six hour print of the final mount I figured I would do a couple of quick samples to check the fit on the contact points and I’m glad I did. Turns out I’d added 1cm to the measurement if taken between the front light pockets which would have been a painful thing to learn if I’d gone straight into building the “final” part. I’ve now fixed the body post mount model and will see if I can get a copy printed out tomorrow, once I’ve set the printer up to use some new reinforced filament I picked up.

  4. Bargain slash 4x4 for me today. Gonna give it a strip and rebuild and ditch the alloy arms for rpm.

  5. Currently having a bit of Alpine recuperation with the family, and my BIL has bought along this relic - an original Blizzard. It need a little adjustment to the brake, and the ESC looked marginal…. So we took it out in the snow, and it’s a belter! It will get stuck, but only if your being daft. Just my phone camera so photos are little dull. Anyway great fun but a low turn torquier crawler motor would work wonders as it’s a rocket but the ESC smells a little scorchio now 😳

  6. Some great work there - I think we're all looking forward to seeing the body painted and complete. Very smart indeed

  9. Sol, I've had a change of heart. If the DR8 is as tough as what @Kyo says it is then go for that mate. This Outlaw of mine is built of cheese so you need something stronger. Cheers, Andrew

  11. Thanks Bajadre. If changing the pinion, do you think I'd be better of changing to the LRP brushless over the brushed one? thanks

  13. I'll buy anything, Don't even think about parts support, FTX and Absima will stick there name on most of the good Chinese stuff anyway, I'm pretty much only 1/8 and most of them are now pretty much interchangeable with each other, Diff gears, Arms, Your always find something that will fit. It's got to the point were you can pick up stuff second hand nice and cheap these days anyway, I'll buy something and then just keep an eye out for a cheap rolling chassis or something for parts, I still have my BSR Berserker, HPI diff internals are the same, The only thing that would be harder to source would be the lower front arms but I have one spare set so covered at the moment, And if it gets to hard I'll just shelf it and move on. Not really worth selling stuff, You could sell a half decent buggy roller for say 80-90 quid maybe, But just the shocks could be worth 50, So i'll hold on to stuff, That £90 roller is never really gonna be worth any less than 90 quid if I sell it today or in 10 years time, It's as good as bottomed out price wise.

  17. Oh these are great fun! I had one once, put a 7000kv brushless system in with 3s, the tracks fired off like elastic bands! Best sticking to brushed with these. Brilliant photos. Just needs a plow.

  20. After a bit, actually a lot, of tweaking I'm finally happy with how the body is sitting. First try with magnetic mounts has been a learning curve. I'm calling this one finished now.
