Progress with the Ryft waiting one a replacement shifting servo before I can start attaching the innards. 3D printed netting works well, just not sure about the black colour.8 points

Height adjustable tamiya body mounts designed and printed. This allows me to use a normal 6mm body post and adjust the height, it should also work as a direct replacement to the stock one so existing holes will work fine. The stock also touched the top of the tires when surpressed, this fixes that issue.3 points

Yep I do it all the time makes life easy on the masking up ππ Just remember it will be a dull Matt finish you get π I also cheat and use a sharpie around the windows to get a nice sharp black window trim π3 points

Love to see it running next to your FS, should be a bit of fun to compare? Went out with some people from the local crawling club. Some very capable rigs, some lad had a stock ftx highrock and performed amazing, kinda made me question if any of my mods i did actually improved performance and im just bad at driving haha3 points

Neither! 3000 nimh 7.2 stick pack today - none of this 21st century Li-po witchcraft π No worries about discharging and to be honest an hours crawling does me fine.3 points

Booooo! A 3000 3s in that would make it a great trail crawler. Both wheel speed and torque when needed. And not much more dangerous than a NIHM.2 points

Have to say i stick to NI-MH packs for all my crawlers, as said can charge them up and if you dont use them no worry about getting them to storage, my SCX10 will do about 3 hours on a 4500mah pack, thats plenty2 points

Some lovely wheels, and some PL rings not shown. the PL Super Swamper XLs are a pig to get on. So far I have 1 tyre one at about 95% success. thankfully the assassins intended for the Ryft went on easily, but only once I had the PL sized rings. lovely wheels though, I can see how folks start to collect them.2 points

Really not built for any form of hard bashing, that being said i dont think the carbon fiber will take 20ft jumps, the screws and diffs housings just arnt meaty enough and were you strenthen one thing the forces just move to the next weakest part.1 point

Oxshott woods is a bust this time of the year unless itβs early morning even then your plagued with dog walkers. I sometimes bash round here and down toward Black pond on a Sunday evening but with the kids off school it can get busy Dropped pin https://goo.gl/maps/smgTZYATpwimrSZj9 I usually hit the woods etc in the spring autum and winter less people about so less hassles You can always try the bmx track but again summertime it gets busy and avoid the weekends Dropped pin https://goo.gl/maps/mMbnD9zGHxPDShTx5 When the kids are off school it gets hard to find somewhere quite π1 point

Added a bit of weight to the defender today using the fastrax black brass to replace front & rear portal drive outer housings, steering knuckles and caster blocks. Living in Lincolnshire not many hills never mind mountains so mainly trails hopefully that will be enough to stop to many rolls. Will find out tomorrow, the site owner where we are staying as some rough terrain land, which heβs happy to let us use (as long as he heys to have ago).1 point

I saw someone on the FB group with one of these installed...looked good but not sure how it would be in reality. I tend to like the idea of cheap plastic parts being broken, rather than the more expensive drive train. Not sure why but got kicked off the FB group...probably for being helpful and the owner of the group didn't like it!1 point
