Picked this up from good old B&Q thought I’d give it a try as a shoo goo replacement Now this wasn’t cheap it’s £14 a tube but you get 246g as opposed to the 109 of shoo goo for around the same money Tested on a small piece of lexan This after a night of curing Goes on much easier is super strong waterproof and flexible. Anyone else tried it ?

This morning I glued the tyres up and this afternoon I went and got it properly diiiirty! There is some footage to go with the pics, but as I was out on my own it's not great. I was blown away by the performance! I'd say parts of this trail are more suited to crawlers than a trail truck, even so it managed to go places I never thought possible The inner fenders did a great job at keeping out the muck, something I tested to the extreme 🤣 With a few minor tweaks I can see this being an extremely capable rig. Had this finished for a few days now just been busy with my Land Rover so haven’t had chance to take it out for a run. Hoping to take it to the lickeys or client hills this week to give it a run. Not happy with how the bonnet area turned out but oh well don’t think I did too bad considering it’s my first time spraying. Thanks for all the help aswell guys👍

Well several issues with the painting of the body means I will most likely paint the outside, so the colour will change slightly, but here's a picture of the colour it will roughly be. My Growlers also came in from Amain, avoided customs which is always a bonus, and Royal Fail ripoff fee. I have also had a bit of a change with electronics, while I intended to run this brushless, I have since decided I think the Gatekeeper will benefit most from brushless and I've got these motors sat doing nothing, so I've put a new 1080 and Holmes motor in this build now. The wiring is also a tiny bit neater without that huge plug from the HW system. I think the tyres suit it well personally, in terms of size and tread pattern, overall I am happy how it is. Had an issue with that 'premium' Kopropo servo horn, basically it's absolute crap and gone in the bin, advertised as 25t, but won't go on any 23, 24 or 25t servos I have, weird, won't buy another.

I would scrap old mechanical speed control an go with hobby wing 1060!! Found bits on modelsport.co.uk could get pack with steering servo and radio gear altogether!! Unsure on what car parts you need but Tony's tamiya parts on eBay will more than likely have what you want!! I've also noticed a big rise in the price of Shoe Goo, in fact I opened my last tube of it the other day and the packet still had the £7.99 sticker on it, these days it's twice that. I love Gorilla products too, so I will give some of this a try for sure, that level of flexibility might make it even better than Shoe Goo.

Selling my Granite. Taken in part ex when I got rid of my 6s Notorious. Used it twice since then. It is used, so not in any way pristine, but it has just had a brand new chassis, brand new centre driveshaft and brand new RPM arms on the front. None of these have been run. I have also covered the motor wires with extra heatshrink where they were scratched and put some more grease on the diffs. Only bad points are the aerial holder is missing (does not affect anything) and one of the fins on the motor cooler is slightly bent. Shell is used with cracks and marks but plenty of life in it still. Price is before postage and fees. That's what I'd like to take out of this but only selling to fund other projects. Any questions, let me know. Looking for £180.

Hi again everyone, I have purchased a HPI Trophy buggy for track use ...I am a total novice...in track use..and my first go with Nitro....but I am mechanicaly minded ..so was thinking...as it's a second hand buggy shall I strip it down and do a rebuild ? If so what shall I replace on rebuild ? Bearings etc .... anything I need too look out for or upgrade whilst I am at it.oh regards wheels and tyres for Astro track use..what should I be using for wet and dry ? ...thanks in advance Bennettironman

Thanks Dan! I'm rebuilding it to the exact spec I found it to establish what works and what doesn't and then go from there. During disassembly, the screw heads are flawless and some were loctited into the vertical supports for the upper deck, so I'm absolutely convinced the composite chassis is original. Also... Everything else is as per the original spec, so I can't see that the chassis was upgraded to composite without changing a single component... surely that's the opportune time for an upgrade! Thanks for the interest, I just hope that I can restore it to it's original glory! One thing is for sure, I'm not planning to put it on a shelf to just look at! 😉

I’m not sure on the servo front actually, O guess or should work, you can always try it, servos are pretty cheap if not. I’m sure someone else might be able to say definitely

Not too much of an update today I'm afraid... I have however inspected the old Le Mans 240ST motor, and it looks in really good condition from what I can tell. The more I get into the car, the less evidence of any hard use I can find! The brushes don't appear to have ever been replaced and they are almost new. I have ordered some new replacement bushes nonetheless because of tarnishing on the leads. I'm also going to buy a new transmitter and receiver combo irrespective of whether the old Techniplus "acoms" system works or not - the original aerial lead is damaged and I don't hold out much hope except for testing at close range... I think I want the Absima CR3P AGHDS transmitter which comes with a R3WP receiver. My question is: are the Acoms IC AS-7 servos plug and play with the R3WP receiver? Thanks in advance! 👍

I would have ordered a lot more as well lol. I might try again with more tyres or maybe the wheels I want, I think my last day of work is 9th December and off for about 6 weeks, so want to get some wheelin' done!

@.AJ. Can be cheeky and ask for a pic of the adaptors in the wheels, as wanting to do a hex on to a plain shaft, but can't get my head round how the wheel doesn't come off the hex as the axle nut will need to secure the bearing without stopping the wheel from turning?

After a lot of discussion on AVForums I went with the Sony Bravia 55" 9505. Has really good reviews and suits my needs, it's close to OLED prices but I was already stretching my budget and prefer a top of the range LED instead of a bottom range OLED.

Recently dug out my old LST2 with plans of getting it back up & running again. So obviously i'm going to need to get some fresh fuel, new glow plug & glow starter. I have these in my basket currently ↓ Do you think they'll be alright? Also going to need a new nitro starter drill (complete with battery) so if anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great 😁

Had an RC arrive today 🙂 the collection is slowly building... This time it's a second hand one. A late night purchase from Facebook marketplace... but fortunately it turned out to be a good 'un 👍 So its a Maverick Strada Evo SC. It's had barely any use and therefore is in really good nick, which is how the seller described it. I think i got a pretty good deal with it. £65 all in. He also included the transmitter & 2 batteries in the sale, a 1400mah ni-cd 7.2v & 1800mah nimh 7.2v, so obviously won't be getting much speed out of them but its nice to have a couple of the oldschool Tamiya batteries. So yeah, really pleased with it. I think it's a cool looking short course truck, with the option of easily upgrading it to a brushless setup should I ever get bored with the brushed motor.

Great stuff @Paul Busby . Love DIY jobs like this and personally I find it so satisfying so hope you're too. 😉
