  6. Hi, came across this in the loft (the start of another clearout, I have far too much I’m not going to use) Hobby Engine wheeled front loader (2.4ghz and weathered version) in full working order comes completely rtr. this was originally bought to go on a Bruder low loader behind a Tamiya truck as it’s the same 1/14th scale but plans change and I’ve far too many “projects” I’ll never get round to. box shows a bit of wear from storage. would prefer collection (COVID-19 safe) and asking £35. or posted recorded all in inc. fees. £45. as always, trades are welcomed, must be something I’ll use though, my lad wants a new PS4 controller (Oem) so would trade for a new or lightly used one. Or a couple of hobbywing 1060 esc’s (near new only please, with plenty of cable left on too) thanks for looking, I’ll edit the title to include other stuffs being added. cheers.

  16. That looks like it has plenty of grunt. 😀 So was that done with the ESC that comes in the box and does it have low voltage cut off as well? - if it does then thats the way to go I think.

  21. The Axial website details the differences between the UMG RTR and kit transmissions and the thinking behind each approach together with noting the FDR of each (details copied below). Though the RTR listing omits that it has a slipper clutch the same as the kit. The kit allows for a 2 speed conversion, the RTR doesn’t. You can view the pitch of the individual gears contained in each in the respective manuals. The UMG kit instructions - https://www.horizonhobby.com/on/demandware.static/Sites-horizon-us-Site/Sites-horizon-master/default/Manuals/AXI90075-Manual-MULTI.pdf The 6x6 RTR instructions - https://www.horizonhobby.com/on/demandware.static/Sites-horizon-us-Site/Sites-horizon-master/default/Manuals/AXI03002-Manual-MULTI.pdf The RTR 6x6 transmission - AX10™ TRANSMISSION - ALL METAL GEARS The ultra compact transmission allows for a wide range of gearing choices. The overall ratio can be adjusted using different pinion and spur gear choices allowing super high speed or competition level crawling speed. The new transmission housing design still retains the basic function of the original transmission but in a new more scale looking case. • Final drive ratio (FDR) 42.00 – Original SCX10 was 33.06 • All metal internal gears! • Scale looks – silver color looks like cast aluminum • Better mounting points at the base of the transmission – no more stripped screws! The 6x6 kit transmission - SCX10™ II TRANSMISSION Scale looks on the outside, genuine Axial gears on the inside! The SCX10™ transmission received a design makeover with special attention paid towards aesthetics by mimicking a real transmission with a bell housing, oil pan and a 4X4 transfer case! And that’s just the beginning. By sitting the transfer case lower into the chassis and centering the driveshafts with the axle input housings, Axial has created a more efficient driveline with better driveshaft angles which puts less stress on moving parts. Better driveshaft angles coupled with hi-pinion axles IS scale realism backed with performance. Also includes full set of ball bearings and all metal internal gears for strength and durability. • Transfer case design helps keep the driveshafts centered and as low as possible in the chassis • Final drive ratio range 33.69 – 54.15 with available spur - pinion gear combinations • Comes with 56T spur gear and 15T pinion / 32-pitch for durability • All metal internal gears for strength and durability • Final drive ratio (FDR) 40.44 with a range from 33.69 - 54.15 - Original SCX10 was 33.06 • Scale looks mimics a full size transmission and transfer case OPTIONAL: For a functional low/high speed transmission, install the optional 2-speed gear set (part number AX31440 — requires an additional servo for the steering fork). DUAL SLIPPER CLUTCH Our dual slipper design uses a pad on each side of the spur gear for added surface area. This allows for more precise tuning and holding power. The spur gear features strong, 32 pitch gearing for high torque applications. • Slipper design uses a pad on each side of the spur gear for added surface contact area • More precise tuning and holding power • Strong 32P gear pitch for high torque applications

  22. Ryzen probably is the best bang for buck right now. Spend on a reasonable motherbaord is wise.... https://pcpartpicker.com/ good place to play with rigs, and see what you need I would build around a Ryzen 3600, decent 450 motherboard ( could stretch to a 470) 8Gb of 3200 DDR4, slap in a cheap 1Tb HDD ( you can always add an SSd later ) and then spend what you can on a mid range graphics card. The 3600 is a good solid performer, and will last a while. Upgrade with a second stick of RAM if needed in the future. Should work with a 400W PSU and a basic ATX mid tower case. The Ryzen ships with a good stock cooler so no worries there. Should be possible to get all that within your budget.

  26. I have a 540 35t Austar motor that came out of a used rig I bought. Its of no use to me but you’re welcome to have it? It could help narrow down the problem - if it smokes then it must be the truck, or if it works it was a faulty HPI motor. If it’s of use just PM me your address and I’ll pop in the post tomorrow 👍

  27. Upgradeable isnt always straight forward as better graphics cards, chips generally need better mobo. I would build one by spending wisely, ie, chip and mobo as graphics card can be added /upgraded later. Cases are cheap, psus need to cope with potential upgrade demands. A second hand graphics card will save alot of the budget, as well as monitor and keyboard. I am sure you can get the OS at a reasonable price if you know where to look. Ryzen seems to be the choice over Intel these days. One of my household uses a Ryzen 2600x with GTX970 and doesnt complain with the games he's playing. You only need the latest if you play at the highest resolution and frame rates with the latest monitor. 1080p is still adequate. Have a look at https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/categories/hardware.1/ for recent builds and ask for advice.

  31. May aswell update... So traxxas light kit was tinted blue and fitted 😎, still need to tidy up the wiring but a lot more to come electronic wise so no rush. Also fitted front and rear Vitavon sway bar kits, worth noting the front kit only works with the stock front bumper skid not the rpm one. Will have a look later if it can be modified to fit. Motor mount is out ready to make the holes bigger to accept the Hw 1650kv

  33. Time for an update... The last few days have been pretty productive... First up was the rear axle, I decided to do the open diff mod on this one. So bought the gear set along with a HR aluminium diff cup. Planetary housing and ring gear were also replaced with the vitavon Aluminium version. Next up was the cage, really don't light the grey plastic look, so decided to strip it down (like a million screws!) and RIt dye it all black.. So submerged it in a container of warm water and a sachet of RIt overnight, never fails. Came out lovely. Then it was time to remember where all the different screws went and put it back together. I also found time to paint the scale accessories on the rear, must admit not my strongest point but happy enough with the results. Added some spare tire straps off ebay, the traxxas Aluminium inner cage panels and traxxas nets. The the iceing on the cake.. A one off functional fan and led setup, bolted straight up to the existing cage perfect!! Then mounted the hole lot to the chassis and connected the front upper a arms (vitavon gold) and aluminum steering links (vitavon black). Finally job for now was to connect the rear axle, used vitavon lower arms and upper links, HR suspension limiting straps and finally the V3 vitavon drivehafts

  38. Didn't have the time I hoped yesterday, so didn't get the cage dyed plus the final aluminium diff cup didn't arrive for the rear axle, so was limited with what I could do. I did however start to attach the sub assemblies in the chassis, centre chassis in, front bulkhead in and joined with the new Traxxas HD dog bone front shaft. Also replaced the stock plastic servo mount with an aluminium one from GPM, there are a few of these on the market from different suppliers, but more or less all the same, the gpm was the easiest to get hold of for me. Then installed the new servo, didn't go to crazy and stuck with the trusty HV Savox 1210,thiw is fully waterproof and has plenty of torque on 7.4v. Lastly mounted the front lower arms and gpm front hinge pin brace. Starting to
