  3. "Finished" mine a while ago, but forgot to post a photo: Vans by Lewis Craik, on Flickr It has had some good use around the garden, and my 4 year old has been loving it. However, the steering arms keep dropping off the servo - I seemed to remember having this issue with the servo on another car about 10 years ago, so have ordered another servo. And some upgraded suspension... fullsizeoutput_25d3.mov

  4. Finally another update!! My motor arrived today, a leopard 4282 2000kv: Slightly bigger than an old 1515 I have (dead): So I got to soldering on XT90s and building. All came together nicely! So yeah all done, really happy with it! However it is way over geared with the 17t pinion, not happy at all. So I will be ordering a 14t then I can rip it properly and upload some vids I reinstalled the front drive shaft after the pics don't worry lol, just needed to do some work on the front end.

  5. Hard to tell from these pictures, but there's definitely debris in the motor (stating the obvious). In regards to whether to send it back or repair it yourself, that entirely depends on your capabilities. It's of course absolutely possible to change the motor/fix the RC, but nobody can make that decision for you. You can for example take the motor out of the RC and open it, and see what falls out (it's hard to tell if i see a cable there or if it's washing line). Or you let us know where you're located (at least the rough area), plenty of people here who'd offer to help and fix it. In any case: http://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=353109485436&category=182213&pm=1&ds=0&t=1599139250000&ver=0 this is the replacement motor. Few questions: what are the specifications of the 5000mah battery (voltage, mainly)? Did the truck run all the way until you turned it off, or did it stop by itself (maybe because you thought the battery was dead)?

  7. Hi guys and girls I’ve been digging around in the house recently trying to clear out any old stuff that I just have sat around. While going through the loft I found this, it’s been up there for a good 20 years. It’s never been used and still has the original stickers and body shell etc. Anybody know what it’s worth?

  9. Nice. I've had my Coyote about a year now, love it. It's currently sporting a Lynx body. I was thinking about getting a TRX4 but after a session at my local track with others, you know what, it's no less capable than something twice the price.

  10. I had the same dilemma many years ago. I had it up for sale on the now defunct Maxbashing forum, I had a ton of spares with it and only one guy was interested, and he offered me £50 for the lot. Insulted, I kept it and converted it to brushless. I made some of the parts myself as I'm in the engineering game. In fact, I used it only this last sunday (6th sept') I use a Leopard 2000kv motor and a Hobbywing 150 amp ESC, with a single speed hub and only single steering servo.

  13. Have a look at the ecx 1/18 crawler mate, looks a lot like the losi did, still distributed by horizon hobby. dont take that as gospel but I wouldn’t think it would take too much to get it working. Or the ftx outback (v1) might do also. sorry I can’t be of more help though mate.

  17. Fitted some upper adjustable arms to the Manta Ray. And on the Top Force fitted a BZ motor and some red gear box covers I had left over from a TA-02.

  18. She's done! the colour turned out really nice imo and looks good against the chrome. Can't wait to get it down some trails! If you're wondering about body posts, I used some magnetic mounts off ebay so none are showing, great idea imo. Just glued the magnets to the body.

  20. Good advice above. For 4s running (plenty for a 1/8 buggy) then I find (for bashing) ~2300kv gives a good turn of speed with ok run times. 2650kv motor extreme speeds but poor run times. The only reason i'd run higher voltage is to run a lower Kv motor for longer run times, however the increased torque (not needed) and bigger lipos make it unnecessary for me.
